The bedroom with a view ... some fireworks on a Saturday night to enjoy from the bed..
We had a lovely time staying in Els apartment. It wasn't too far from the centre but was a bit quieter which was nice. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening. Air con was a massive bonus as was the wifi! Thank you again, we had a lovely time.
My boyfriend and I were excited to stay in Rome for a night and the pictures of Els’ place were beautiful. Yet once we arrived, we realized some adjustments would have made the place as beautiful as advertised. If the cracked glass on the sliding door to the balcony and the moldy looking ceiling above the shower were fixed, the place would be much nicer. Also, there was a minor ant infestation in the bathroom, which I alerted Els about on our last day and she said she would take care of it for the future. The downstairs which houses the small kitchen and bathroom generally felt damp and dark unlike the bright sunshine filled pictures displayed. However, the 2 AC units and the very comfortable bed were great!
Els was very nice and came to greet us once we had settled in with the help of her neighbor Carlo as she was at the dentist. She quickly answered all our questions as needed via email when we were out on the town. We had agreed to an 11 am checkout which was double confirmed when Els greeted us upon arrival. However, Els emailed us at around 9:30 pm the night before the morning we needed to check out to ask if we could do a huge favor and check out by 9:30 am instead as she had new guests coming in. Though it wasn’t a huge time difference, we did feel a bit pushed out.
Els was a super helpful host. She answered all of our questions promptly and even arranged transportation to the airport the day we left Rome. The apartment is very eclectic and uniquely designed. Els has thought of every detail a traveler might need.
We were met by Els when we arrived. She was very accommodating and spoke good English which was very helpful. The room was ready and the aircon was on. Accommodation was clean and tidy. Els left us to ourselves but was available when we required her help. She even booked some rail tickets for us. A nice person. We enjoyed our stay.
Els was not present during our stay. Her neighbors helped us. This flat is accessible from the street; however, we had to go through a neighbors apartment to initially access it. Apartment is not as nice as pictures portray it. Stairs are extremely steep and little. Sliding glass door had huge cracks in it. That being said, the AC blew cold air, the bed was comfortable, and the shower water was hot. The wine left for us was delicious - a favorite on our trip!
My boyfriend and I really liked this place. It was clean and conveniently located. The wifi and AC worked well. Els also has arranged a pick-up for us at the airport. Els was always very responsive and gave us alot of great recommendations!
