Best SF Tourist Location (condo)

Apartment - Private room · Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94133, United States

Private bedroom and bathroom in modern condo, located on the border of the the North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf neighborhoods.

The Space

Thank you for considering my home for your stay in San Francisco.

You'll have your own private bedroom and private full bathroom in a beautiful modern condominium, located between NORTH BEACH, San Francisco's most lively and convenient neighborhood (also known as "Little Italy"), and FISHERMAN'S WHARF.

For exact location, click on the GUIDEBOOK above (top right of this page); the green flag is my home.

The 2 bedroom/2 bath condo is at the entrance to Fisherman's Wharf, and within minutes walking are (for specific location, click on the "Guidebook" above"):

- Fisherman's Wharf
- Ghirardelli Square
- Pier 39
- Coit Tower
- Lombard Street
- North Beach neighborhood, restaurants, and cafés
- China Town neighborhood, restaurants, and cafés
- Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, restaurants, and cafés
- Ferry boat terminals to Alcatraz Island
- Supermarkets, pharmacies, other convenient stores
- Sight Seeing/Tour booking locations
- Car Rental
- Bicycle rental
- Public Transportation

From this location you won't need a car to see the most popular sights of San Francisco.

The POWELL-MASON CABLE CAR line passes right in front of the building (as you can see in the exterior building photo), as does the #30/STOCKTON bus to/from Union Square and the Marina District (including the Palace of Fine Arts, and transfer to bus that goes to the Golden Gate Bridge); buses and street cars to other areas are nearby as well.

The condo is modern and nicely furnished, with Xfinity X1 HD cable TV (including HBO), Blu-Ray DVD player, wireless internet, unlimited local/national (domestic) telephone calls, clothes washer & dryer in the unit, iron/ironing board, fireplace, private balcony, and rooftop common use area that offers incredible views.

Your bedroom and bathroom are located in a separate "wing" of the condo, which offers additional privacy.

Your bedroom is spacious and clean, and bright with lots of windows and full afternoon sun; in the room are:

- a queen-size bed with a 2” memory foam mattress topper
- Futon (becomes a 2nd full-size bed when opened)
- flat screen 32" cable TV
- writing table, desk chair
- universal electric adapter plug (not a voltage converter)
- lamps
- tower fan
- wall heater
- alarm clock
- chest of drawers
- full length mirror
- spacious closet
- local tourism books, pamphlets, and maps

Your private full bathroom has a bathtub/shower, and is just outside the bedroom. Towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, sewing kit, and even emergency toothbrushes (single use) are provided for you to use.

You are more than welcome to use the kitchen and everything in it (new, stainless steel appliances installed in September 2013), the living room, and the common rooftop deck.

There are no additional or hidden fees for your stay (deposit, cleaning, etc.), other than the fee that AirBNB charges, and any applicable City taxes, which should appear as you are creating your reservation.

I typically arrive home from work at about 5:00 p.m. (Mon-Fri), but I can often be flexible with that, so we can work out the best time for you to arrive. For weekend/holiday arrivals, I should be able to accommodate your arrival time easily.

You'll have your own key(s), so you can come/go as early or late as you'd like.

I work normal weekday business hours, am quiet, clean, and respectful of your space. I'm happy to give you ideas on places to go and things to do.

Available on the street without a permit or meter from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. (2 hour limit at other times), and there are several lots in the area that charge approximately $20 per day. I also have some parking secrets that can help you save some money.

My schedule doesn't allow me to be able to provide a cooked or full breakfast, so "Breakfast included" isn't listed as one of the Amenities (I just want to set appropriate expectations).

I do keep a very simple set up that includes a variety of cold cereals, milk, and juice. I have a Keurig single serve coffee maker, and I keep some K-cups for you, but if you have a favorite K-cup flavor, feel free to bring your own K-cups. The coffee maker also serves hot water and I keep a supply of tea and coffee bags.

There are 4 cafés within one block, and there is a Starbucks 2 blocks away.

I have a dog named Bingo. He's a mixed breed of 20 pounds, extremely friendly, and doesn't shed his fur; he's clean, quiet, housebroken, and I keep his hair cut short. There is a small gate that keeps him in my room if you don't want him to visit with you.

He loves company, but typically just sleeps on my bed all day. You can see by the reviews how well behaved he is.

(More than 2 months from now, or for extended stays of more than 30 days):

Because my job sometimes requires travel (and due to occasional personal travel), I typically only open room availability on my calendar 2 months in advance. If you would like to stay here for a later time period, please send a message to me with your anticipated dates, and I'll do my best to try to block out the nights for you. Please understand that my nightly rates do increase March through October.

Guest Access

In addition to your private bedroom and bathroom, you are more than welcome to use the kitchen and living room. My hope is that you will make yourself comfortable. I don't have many rules, other than no smoking indoors.

Interaction with Guests

I'm happy to assist with advice, directions, suggestions. Depending on how our schedules coincide, we may see a lot or just a little of each other, but I enjoy sharing stories and getting to know the new friends I meet here.

The Neighborhood

North Beach is home to a number of great restaurants, cafés, and bars, and is walking distance to numerous interesting neighborhoods and landmarks.

Getting around

The 30/Stockton bus line runs right in front of my home, as does the Cable Car to Union Square. Within a few blocks are other bus and rail lines, and taxis are plentiful.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Ron is an absolutely incredible person and host. Our flight from the East Coast was heavily delayed, and we did not arrive until 2 in the morning local time. When we arrived exhausted, Ron was standing on the street corner with a smile. That's something you cannot replicate. The house is gorgeous, Bingo the dog is adorable, and it is a perfect location. The restaurants and cafes within one block are so delicious and Ron is incredibly helpful. Definitely stay here!

  • Staying with Ron was great. It really is the best tourist location. We walked to fishermans warf, pier 39, the landing for Alcatraz, lombard street and Italian quarters (with great cafes and restaurants) without a problem. Walking to market street (shoppingarea) is a bit further but still doable, otherwise the historic streetcar stops right outside the door and is really nice to take all the way down there. Even though you only rent one room it feels like you have the whole apartment as Ron invites and even encourage you to use both kitchen and living room. Besides he mostly stayed out of the way (but was still reachable during the whole time). Ron is also very prepared, offers a lot of neccessarities and is always happy to help.

  • Staying with Ron was a perfect experience. The apartment is well located, tastefully decorated, clean, tidy and very comfortable with every convenience provided. Ron puts a lot of effort into making sure your stay is memorable whilst being discreet and unobtrusive. I would highly recommend a stay in Ron's apartment and would not hesitate in staying there again on a return visit to San Francisco. Ron and Bingo are stars!
