As someone who loves to travel and stay off the beaten path, I must say that this property is, hands down, the most wonderful, relaxing, beautiful place I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It's hard to believe that you're only a 5-minute boat ride away from the city and not in the middle of the Amazon.
If the view, serenity and the aesthetics of this amazing property isn't enough, Silvia, the host, was so pleasant, friendly and made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped off the boat. She was always there to answer questions, offer travel suggestions and places to eat. Morning breakfast was always fresh and delicious. When it was time to depart (after only 3 days), Silvia saw us off from the pier when we left and my girlfriend and I got teary-eyed.
We fell in love with Rio and vowed to return. And when we do, we hope to stay again at Silvia's place.
A wonderful place with great soul... very nice house decorated with "bom gusto"... in the midst of wonderful nature! We really enjoyed! The best were the people - Silvia, her son and Paulinho, who we never forget.. THANK YOU!! and see you soon!
It's been a couple days since I've returned from my trip, so I've had time to digest my stay with Silvia and write a completely unbiased opinion. Here it is: the stay was incredible, and Silvia did everything she could possibly do to make us comfortable.
My wife and I went with our two kids, aged 3 and 5, for a week long stay during the World Cup. Silvia was great with the kids, and after we settled in, she greeted us on the patio with caipirinhas to give us the lay of the land. It was a lot to absorb right off the bat, but there is a direct phone line to her residence that she enouraged us to use if we needed *anything*.
The first night, my 5 year old got sick with a fever and cough. The next morning, she went out of her way to help us find a pediatrician to take both kids to (my daughter was coming down with something as well). We could have stumbled along on our own, but she sent us to a very specific place whose reputation she knew. This gesture made us realize just how lucky we were to have her available to us.
She also arranged transportation for us. We had a taxi from the airport that she set up, and we had a great driver (Alfredo) that took us on a tour and drove us back to the airport.
The residence itself was clean, spacious, and in a beautiful location. There is a swimming pool available for use, and the patio offers a great place to congregate for meals or just to relax.
In terms of location, you need to take a boat to the residence itself. It's a quick, 5 minute trip. There are buses in and around Barra de Tijuca (where this is), but they're not as convenient as taking a taxi. That being said, there is a massive project underway to have the metro run there in time for the Olympics. The addition of the metro will make this location even more desirable.
I would wholeheartedly recommend any of Silvia's listings to anyone wishing to take a trip to Rio. Our family is hoping to go back in 2016 for the Olympics, and we will most definitely try to stay here again.
A HUGE OBRIGADO to Silvia and Francisco for allowing us to share our trip with you!
Definitlely something special ! The kind of atmosphere in this stunning studio is amazing. Away from the hustle and bustle, you almost forget about being in Rio. Just a quick boatride though, and you're in Barra, a safe and quiet neighbourhood all the way to wonderful Praia do Pepe ;-) Both my adult sons and I felt home away from home - due to the care and assistance of Silvia, Francesco and, last but not least Paulinho ! And its so easy to reach by bus 2018 from and to GIG airport. The aircon-busride can take up to two hours but it's a city-tour itself already for just 13,50 Reais...
Incredibly beautiful place!!
I never imagined such a place exist so close to the city. I had to spend 4 days in the Barra of Rio, which is quite apart from the main part of Rio, and found this peacefully on the lake/canal water, just 5 minutes away by boat to the main traffic routes.
Silvia and Francisco were so kind and welcoming, and helpful with any request, and you can see and feel their spirit in every detail of the beautiful houses and the garden.
I came to work, and felt like in holiday whenever returned home or before leaving in the morning.
Simply beautiful and inspiring place. Highly recommended !!
