Great weekend get-a-way from the city. Quaint, eclectic 1- bedroom cabin with a picture perfect view of horses and a fish pond off the front porch. We used the paddle boat to go out in the pond, caught several fish and soaked up some sunshine. Next door we met the 'resident cowboy' and took a horse riding lesson. At night we cooked dinner on the grill and relaxed with some tv and peace & quiet. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and only a 10-20 minute car ride to surrounding small towns for anything else. Great place to escape, just 45 minutes from the big city! (Cabin also much larger than the pictures)
We had an AMAZING time at Lily's cabin. It was everything we were hoping for and more. It was secluded but not too secluded. The sunsets were incredible and the peace and tranquility was unbelievable. We stayed 4 days in the cabin during the Christmas holidays and the kids loved it. They loved fishing in the small boat, the animals nearby...especially the ducks, the campfires, and the list can go on and on. Lily is a very helpful and very considerate host. We hope to return soon... :)
We really liked this stay in support of a wedding that had its reception in nearby Poetry Springs, a very nice event venue. The accoms were great and accurately described in the listing. lily is a fantastic manager and made sure everything was set up just right. The only negative to report was a big party somewhere nearby with LOUD Mexican Nortena/Tejano music well into the night. Couldn't drown it out even with the every good A/C fan. But that's not the host's fault - just an observation. We loved the rural feeling and the horse accoms nearby. The pond was a nice additional to the atmosphere. Easy to find even in the very dark nights out there in the country.
Ah-HA! I finally figured out how to respond. Thanks for the review David! There are those super big parties twice a year about a mile or 2 away. So sorry your stay was during that time. (I keep wanting to go invite myself because it sounds like FUN!) Anyways, you were an awesome guest, and because of your great suggestion we now offer coffee in the cabin! Love getting ideas from our renters...
My husband and I LOVED the cabin! It was so cute, perfect size, had everything we needed, and the bed was SUPER COMFY! We absolutely loved fishing. It is FULL of fish. We wouldn't go more than 3 minutes with our line in the water without catching a Bass or Crappie! I loved watching the horses graze on the other side of the pond. We made friends with a family of ducks that liked to follow us around.
The cabin was clean and well kept. We were a little nervous at first to see how things would be, but it was perfect!! Lily was amazing, she made sure we knew that if we needed anything, that we could call or text her. But we had all the privacy we wanted. The whole process was so easy to do. I completely recommend this cabin. I will be wanting to return here someday in the future, that's for sure!
Lily did an outstanding job with this cabin. She was great communicating with us before and during our stay. The cabin was clean, well-furnished and wonderfully decorated. The photos and description actually fell short of how nice the cabin is. Lily and the cabin exceeded our expectations.
There was ample space to lounge around, read, or watch a movie. We were surprised at how big the cabin is. Lily supplies almost everything you could need—towels, linens, and the kitchen has everything you'd need to cook. The only things we needed to bring were food, and supplies and such for our dog.
We had a great time and hope to visit again. Thanks, Lily!
The cabin was so peaceful and tranquil. Lily provided excellent information about the area including grocery stores and neighboring towns. The king bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Highly recommended if you're looking to unplug for a few days!
About the Host, Lily
I own a Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten in Texas. My husband is getting his PhD in Public Affairs and works at a hospital in Dallas doing research. Lily lived in Prague for 5 years and we both love to travel to see new and interesting things. We love this concept and decided to try it out ourselves and have a cabin for rent in the beautiful Texas Countryside, take a look!
