The space
Everything in this charming house has been planned for your comfort and convenience. One of Rochester's classic period homes, carefully renovated, fully equipped. The extra large backyard is a rare find in the city, enjoy it from lounge chairs on the deck.
Walking/running/biking trails: three trail heads for the Genesee Riverway Trail system within a four minute walk.
Kitchen has granite counter tops, everything needed to prepare a family meal. Two full bathrooms, stylishly renovated. Each has a walk-in shower. Note: NO bathtub! Central a/c, heating; you will be cool in summer, cosy in winter.
Walking or 4 min. drive to U of Rochester Medical Center, Strong Hospital, Wilmot Cancer Center, Flaum Eye Institute, School of Medicine & Dentistry, College Town. Six minutes to RIT, eight minutes to many great restaurants or downtown. 5 minutes drive to Rochester Curling Club!
The Genesee Valley Park & playground are walking distance. Kayak rentals too!
Longer stays welcome - enjoy the beautiful southern shore area of Lake Ontario and picturesque farm countryside, nearby vineyards. 40 minutes to Letchworth State Park, 90 minutes to Buffalo/Niagara Falls.

The kitchen has a well stocked pantry: coffee, tea, seasonings, flour, sugar, oil, condiments. Regular coffee-maker (less environmental impact than Keurig) plus French press with coffee grinder (on request). Large dining table to enjoy meals or family time with many board/card games. Living room couches carefully chosen for comfort, bookshelves stocked with good reading, (adults and children).
Smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Prime - other popular streaming sites plus local channels. Room darkening curtains, quality all-cotton bedding, hangers & shelves in closets, luggage stand, reading lamps & bedside tables plus device charger.

Guest access
The house and large yard are yours to enjoy: two floors, basement with washer and dryer, large deck and the extra large backyard for relaxation. Erie Canal at end of backyard and Genesee River Trails system on other side of canal. Entry to trails is four minutes' walk down the block.
The attic has very steep stairs; we keep it locked.

Other things to note
Enjoy the backyard flowers and birds. Many birds - cardinals, blue jays, grackles & more plus groundhogs, squirrels, a fox, turkeys - even deer in the backyard, attracted by the apples. Deer are very often seen on the walking path just over the river.

There are beds for six and a couch for a seventh (bedding provided in linen closet upstairs). Small extra charge for fifth - seventh persons.
This an area of quiet, tree-lined neighborhood streets. Great for business/academic/musician visitors to city, family groups, visits to friends. Guidebook has information on local attractions. There is much to see and do in this city, including some of the best Art Deco architecture you will find anywhere.
Don't miss the Eastman School of Music in their very beautiful Art Deco buildings. Lots of free concerts presented by the highly gifted students.
Excellent restaurants are appearing constantly. The Public Market is a very interesting place to see and buy
The beautiful Lake Ontario shoreline has several parks and outside the city is lovely countryside and historic towns such as Skaneateles.
