We are a NON SMOKING, DRUG FREE home. Colorado has legalized marijuana, and we don't have an "issue" with folks who partake. HOWEVER, our home is our place of business. The federal legal issues and the odor of medical and/or recreational marijuana or other drugs in our home put our business, clients and livelihood at risk. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NON NEGOTIABLE.
We have TV/Comcast basic cable on main floor and in basement. No TV in the guest room. No land line - owners use cell phones.
WiFi. Absolutely NO pornography. We don't care about your sex life. We need to maintain the safety and security of our internet.
NO PETS. Owner is a massage therapist with private practice in home office: many clients have allergies to pet dander.
Numerous traditional and ethnic restaurants and grocery stores nearby incl. Whole Foods. Close to several ubiquitous chains incl. Target, Walmart and Kohl's. Adventure laden thrift stores you can roam in search of the next Antiques Roadshow find. Or just in case you forgot to pack something!
NOTE: Airbnb adds their service fee which is in addition to the listed rental price.
Our home has an open floor plan. Guests have access to the kitchen, common areas, and hot tub around our schedules.
Interaction with Guests
Every guest has different needs, expectations and time commitments. Our schedules vary with work, family, time of year, and unplanned emergencies. We love to be social and share meals now and then when it's convenient for everyone. We also respect those who want or need time alone for their visit. Our goal is to find out what each guest prefers and interact or leave you alone, "as you wish".
We are in walking distance of the Denver Public Library, the Light Rail station, RTD bus stops, parks and bike paths, Walmart, Starbucks and a 7-11. The neighborhood itself is quiet, generally safe and walkable. We know all our neighbors on this block. If there were an emergency our guests would be able to get help right next door.
Denver public transit (RTD) has limits, but it is convenient to our location. You can carry bikes on to light rail. Buses have bike racks. We are a 20 minute walk from the Dayton light rail station (or you can bike, drive and park there). Our location is also close to 9-Mile Station for transportation to and from DIA (Use the AT bus to Nine Mile Station). Bus stops on major routes are a 10 minute walk. Please do not assume we can drive you around if you don't have a vehicle. Rent a car or plan on Lyft, Uber, shared car services or a taxi. If it's convenient and on our way we can drop you off somewhere en route, or pick you up at Nine Mile. Please make arrangements with us PRIOR to your arrival!
Other Things to Note
Your bedroom is beneath ours. We try to be quiet but wood floors squeak a little and water runs thru the house pipes. The hot tub pump outside our windows runs periodically to keep the temperature warm. We are up around 5 AM and in bed around 9 PM most weeknights. None of our guests have found this problematic, however, if you're an extremely light sleeper our home may not be a good fit for you.
We will check ID on arrival, get emergency information and contacts in the event something happens to you, give you a tour, answer questions and arrange for your key.
Televisions are available, there is not one in the bedroom itself. We have basic cable. We do not have a land line.
Jennifer has massage clients throughout the day. Guests can use basement TV during day with quiet volume while clients are coming and going. You don't have to hide, but we ask your presence be subtle.
Water is precious here, and expensive. Shorter showers, please (10 minutes or so).
Turn off lights when not in use.
Wifi available. We also have printers. We have had virus issues with people linking to pornography sites. This is absolutely prohibited for the safety of our network.
$50 replacement charge for lost house keys. If you lose our house key we have to replace the entire lockset. Please respect and care for our safety as you would your own.
If you'd like a massage during your visit you can book that separately with Jenn.
Colorado has legalized marijuana, and people from around the country come to partake where they won't be thrown in prison.
We are a non smoking home, including marijuana. Pot (in any form) remains a federal offense. Because our home is also our place of business, we have zero tolerance. Guests who put us at risk will be escorted out the door, the locks will be changed and the costs will be deducted from your deposit.
I know this sounds harsh. We are mellow, fun, caring people and get along easily with others.
It's not about "morality" or "ethics". It's about our federal, state and local laws getting on the same page. It's about our business and clients safety and well being.
There are many Airbnb listings open to marijuana use (look for "4/20 friendly"). You shouldn't have any trouble finding another home away from home.
In every way! Greeted me, made sure I had everything I needed from the moment I arrived. I love that Jennifer thought of everything that anybody could ever want to be comfortable!
Jennifer greeted me at the door and gave me an extensive tour and made sure I didn't have any questions.
Jen and Brian were fantastic hosts. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to make their guests feel comfortable. They have asked us to join them for dinner and even took us to the Denver museum of nature & science.
They have a lovely house with great location. It was close to a lot of shops and restaurants. The room was completely private, clean and comfortable. It also had all the amenities you could need -- refrigerator, coffee maker, hot water kettle, and hair dryer, etc.
We would love to stay here again next time when we are in the area. Thank you Jen and Brian for being such kind and accommodating host!
Jenn and Brian were very welcoming! They invited me to join them for a bowl of hot chili, which was perfect on a cold day! Their room was also very comfortable and relaxing, and I can't imagine finding any place that would be better than their room on the night before my interview. I loved my stay and I highly recommend everyone to stay at their place!
Jenn and Brian made me feel very welcome, offered me dinner when I arrived, coffee whenever I needed it and gave me rides in their car.
They gave me as much or as little inteaction as I needed.
I was taking an intensive 4-day course and usually just wanted to be by myself after class. My room was nice and quiet, as was the whole place.
I would definitely recommend staying there and will come back if I'm in the area again.
