About this listing
Comfortable and relaxing home from home. Very near central London - you can walk in 30 minutes to the Houses of Parliament or 10 minutes on the bus. 5 minutes from the London underground and the buses run all night almost to the door.
My home is warm and welcoming and it will be your home from home as everyone who comes here is always invited to relax and enjoy the space. It's newly decorated and is totally self contained and secure. The double room sleeps two people comfortably. In the room there is a radio and remote controlled tv with free view. It's a quiet room and overlooks the gardens below.
There is a kitchen for guests to eat breakfast which I provide - bread for toasting, jam, marmalade and milk for tea and coffee. The kitchen overlooks really nice gardens. You can use the kitchen at any time as another room to relax in and it overlooks the gardens so a great space to chill. You can buy things and put them in the fridge and there is a cupboard for you to store any food for yourself.
I provide towels and a hair dryer so you can travel lighter! There is a European electric plug and there are also umbrellas for you to borrow!
There are 2 WC's and 1 bathroom with shower and bathroom which is shared.
There are attractive bars and restaurants in the immediate area and typical London pubs. You can take the local buses if you like to anywhere but if you wanted to walk, it's a pleasant 25-30 minutes to the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Tate Britain etc. I am more than happy to help with any directions, guides or advice on where to go and what to do so you get the best out of your time here.
Although the check in and check out times are flexible they must be reasonable. Can everyone please let me know when you are arriving and departing as soon as you can as on rare occasions people may arrive on the same day that you are departing and so check in and check out times will vary. Don't worry, you will not be asked to check out before lunchtime and if no one is arriving that day you don't have to dash and you can leave your bags until you are ready to travel later in the day.
I look forward to making your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one while you're in London!
Your own room (which has tv/dvd, heater, desk and chair and WIFI)
Kitchen. which is communal at breakfast time but you can also use it for making tea and coffee during the day and to sit in as it's a really nice space.
Bathroom which is shared.
Interaction with Guests
There is usually someone around to help you but you will always have phone contact if you need anything.
Diverse, close to centre, nice parks, quiet tree lined street, good cafés and local pubs,
Local buses run all night to and from the centre of London.
Other Things to Note
In winter the heating comes on automatically in the morning and also in the evening. For the time in between, if you need it, there is a heater in your room.
Please turn appliances and lights off when you go out.
At night turn off heaters in room for safety reasons.
Please take off your shoes at the front door.
If you need more towels or bedding please ask.
Please don't shower too late at night (I suggest 9.00pm) as the noise can disturb others.
Last rule: Enjoy your time in London :-)
We used this accommodation for our visit in London. Sandy was waiting for us on arrival and showed us around. Our stay was made comfortable and both Sandy and Lynn were informative and gave useful directions and suggestions to visit around London. Travelling is very easy if one will stay at this house as buses run 24 hours, every 6 minutes and the location is just a few meters away. Sandy is a really nice character who goes out of her way to help and assist in any way. The bedroom was comfortable and clean with a good internet connection and set in a quiet road overlooking private gardens. Recommendable.
We arrived early but were warmly greeted by Sandy with a cup of tea and left our bags before heading out to the city.
Sandy was a great source of information and we appreciated the advice she gave us. Our Saturday outing to Brixton Market was down to her and it was one of the highlights of our week.
The room was spacious with a view to the rear garden which features a large gum tree. The bed was comfortable and the area very quiet so we slept well.
The bus stop for the 88 bus to Trafalgar Square is a short walk away.
After a tiring day of sightseeing it was a pleasure to come home and cook a frozen meal in the microwave oven to wash down with a glass or two of the inexpensive but good quality wine from the local Lidl supermarket.
I was in London last week (May 06 to May 12) with my friend and everything was perfect!!
Lynn's place is wonderful, the house is beautiful, the room is comfortable and clean, the neighboorhood is very good. The localization is one of the best part: very close to the subway station and with great two buses lines almost in front of the door!! One of those buses lines runs 24h and that is great! By bus it took us 20 minutes to reach the Central London. Perfect!!
About Lynn and Sandy, they were amazing!! They did everything to make us feel like we were in our own home. I'm sure when I go back to London, I will go to Lynn's place again.
We spent a wonderful week at Lynn's and had a great time in London! Sadly, Lynn was on holiday during our stay, so we didn't get the chance to meet her, but Sandy was a wonderful host and took care of us. The house was clean, our room was very cozy, and we felt very much at home :-) The location is great, as we were able to walk every day to central London (plus there are good bus and tube connections as well). Next time we're coming to London, we'll definitely want to stay there again!
Thanks, Lynn and Sandy, for a great holiday in London!

Lynn and Sandy were great hosts! Lynn was very responsive since she was out of town and Sandy is very nice and helpful. My sister and I really enjoyed staying in the flat and would love to do so again next time we are in London.
The location is great and public transportation is very close. The amenities provided (toast, jam, coffee/tea for breakfast, cable, comfy bed, and WiFi) exceeded my expectations. Thank you!

About the Host, Lynn
I like reading, walking, travelling, singing and playing guitar, interesting conversation, cinema and art. I love meeting new people so Airbnb is really good for me and I always get a buzz from people who arrive here as I still love London after all this time and I really like sharing experiences of where they can go, depending on what they like of course!
I've travelled through the Middle East, South America, Thailand, Spain and love having guests who want to get the best out of London - especially if it's their first time here.
I can speak a little Arabic, Spanish and French.
My motto in life - all you need is love :-)
