London(central) - One double room

Castle - Private room · Guildford Road, London, SW8 2BX, United Kingdom

The Space

My home is warm and welcoming and it will be your home from home as everyone who comes here is always invited to relax and enjoy the space. It's newly decorated and is totally self contained and secure. The double room sleeps two people comfortably. In the room there is a radio and remote controlled tv with free view. It's a quiet room and overlooks the gardens below.

There is a kitchen for guests to eat breakfast which I provide, ie bread for toasting, jam, marmalade and milk for tea and coffee. The kitchen overlooks really nice gardens.

I provide towels and a hair dryer so you can travel lighter! There is a European electric plug and there are also umbrellas for you to borrow!

There are 2 WC's and 1 bathroom with shower and bathroom which is shared.

There are attractive bars and restaurants in the immediate area and typical London pubs. You can take the local buses if you like to anywhere but if you wanted to walk, it's a pleasant 25-30 minutes to the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Tate Britain etc. I am more than happy to help with any directions, guides or advice on where to go and what to do so you get the best out of your time here.

Check in:
Although the check in and check out times are flexible they must be reasonable. Can everyone please let me know when you are arriving and departing as soon as you can as on rare occasions people may arrive on the same day that you are departing and so check in and check out times will vary. Don't worry, you will not be asked to check out before lunchtime and if no one is arriving that day you don't have to dash and you can leave your bags until you are ready to travel later in the day.

I look forward to making your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one while you're in London!

  • Lynn's place is the nest you look for after a long day in a city like London. The environment is relaxing, comfortable and suitable both for couples and singles; the house is close to 2 of the major tubes lines so anything is reachable within 30minutes or so; the neighborhood is chilled and just around the corner there are plenty of groceries and good, affordable restaurants. We met Lynn, Susan -Lynn's friend who helps managing the house-, and other guests, who have been a respectful and enjoyable company. I would recommend Lynn to anybody else who is looking for short or long-term accommodation in London.

    Response from Lynn:

Thanks Gaia. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here :-))

  • For anyone coming to London and looking for a temporary, not too pricy place to stay, I recommend Lynn's place. The atmosphere is really homy - I was f. ex. greeted with a cup of traditional English tea. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet Lynn while I stayed there, but her friend and housemate Susan is just a lovely person who took her time to explain everything to me and give me recommendations on supermarkets etc. Thank you!

Hey, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. It was a pleasure having you here. Take care and you're welcome any time.

  • The location has great access for public transportation to and from central London. The bus stop (including an all-night bus) is three minute or less walk from the home and the Stockwell Tube (i.e. subway) is less than a five minute walk. Ideal for a first-time visitor to London. Do not miss the Post Office which is right across the street from the Stockwell Tube. Although I came prepared, the room has very handy guides and maps to all the tourist atttractions in London. I found the community quiet.

  • If you are searching for a beautiful and perfectly located room during your stay in london, you will find it at lynn`s place.
the room is very nice and lovingly decorated with art (the whole house is very charming).
from the hairdryer to the towel is all there. the breakfast is also included.
undergrounds victoria line (light blue) and northern line (black) are just 5 minutes away and bring you quick into central london. bus 88 (2 minutes away) with 24h service brings you to piccadilly circus. clapham is a 20 minutes walk away.
ok, you can`t lock the door of your room - for some people this might be a problem. but for me there was no reason not to trust.
i met lynn for only 5 minutes, but she seemed to be very nice. also her flatmate (who takes care about the guests) i din`t see very often. but if you are not having questions or need help, that should be ok.

  • Unfortunately we didn't meet Lynn, while our stay, but her friend, who welcomed us, was really nice. The room is clean, and there is everything we needed. For breakfast, you can choose what you like to eat, that's really nice :)
Most of the time walked to the center (it takes around 40 minutes), but Stockwell-station is just a 5 min. walk away.
Thanks Lynn, for the nice stay!

Thank you so much Julia. Siobhan said you were lovely and a pleasure to have in the house. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in London.
    Take care :-)

  • We have appreciated our stay in Lynn's home.
The location is very convenient. Close to Stockwell station, many shops around and the area is quiet.
    We were like at home.
Unfortunately, Lynn was very busy and often outside. We couldn't have known her more. We hope to stay in touch.

About
I like reading, walking, travelling, singing and playing guitar, interesting conversation, cinema and art. I love meeting new people so Airbnb is really good for me and I always get a buzz from people who arrive here as I still love London after all this time and I really like sharing experiences of where they can go, depending on what they like of course! I've travelled through the Middle East, South America, Thailand, Spain and love having guests who want to get the best out of London - especially if it's their first time here. I can speak a little Arabic, Spanish and French. My motto in life - all you need is love :-)
