Elizabeth was onsite and available for our check-in at the time we specified. She kindly took us up to the apartment and showed us all the features of the unit. When we had questions or concerns, she was prompt in addressing them. The location and the apartment were as described in a gorgeous neighborhood just across the Arno from the museums. The Ponte Vechio was half a block away.
In addition, Elizabeth was helpful in providing local guidance and color about the area. Very friendly and cooperative.
We spent a week in Elizabeth's wonderful apartment located so close to everything we went home each day for lunch and had a break before venturing out again. It is full of antique charm and fantastic views of the Ponte Vecchio and the duomo. It was perfect for two people as the lounge and kitchen dining space are quite compact and the beautiful Arno view bedroom is tiny for a double room. Elizabeth was very responsive and was incredibly helpful arranging a taxi for our departure at the last minute when the taxis were all booked. It was very hot when we were there (35') and this is the top of a tower (!) but we had a lovely breeze across the Arno and a fan which got us through. Note that the Arno view room gets the street noise and church bells at night if the windows are open. We hope to come back again, we loved this place.
What a fantastic location! You cannot hope for better if you want to be on the banks of the river with a lovely view of the Ponte Vecchio. If you love antiques and shabby chic you will love this apartment, as I did. Very stylish, thank you Elizabeth, you are a lovely welcoming host, the apartment is clean and eclectic. Only for the fit, as there a lot of stairs, but so worth the climb. Highly recommend.
Lovely flat, perfect location, just what we were looking for. Elizabeth was very friendly and made us feel at home in Florence. I would recommend this to anyone.
Grazie Elisabeth, for your warm reception and for having us share not only the absolutely amazing view but also living in such a cosy heritage flat! We felt really immersed in the rich history before we even left the flat in the Morning. Keep well!
Dear Thomas, thank you so much for your wonderful review about our apartment. It was such a joy for me meeting you and your lovely family. It is guests like you that make airbnb such a nice experience also for us. Again thank you for staying with us . Best regards, Elizabeth
Dear Elizabeth thank you so much for your hospitality. We enjoyed staying in your apartment which has a lot of old world charm. One has to be very fit walking up your stairs to the apartment but your view of the Ponte Vecchio is excellent. Your position was also very good, so close to the Ponte Vecchio and only 10 minutes walk to Duomo and Ufizzi Gallery. Thank you for your care and hospitality!
Elizabeth was lovely and so was her appartment. The views out of the bedroom French doors were to die for! The only problem we had was that we arrived back from a long day of travel, after dinning out and we had no power and no way of contacting Elizabeth ( although she lives in the building, we didn't know which unit hers was and her phone was turned off at 10pm so we had no way of dealing with a dark home with no fridge to keep our food cold) Luckily we managed to work out ( 1 of us was an electrical engineer) that the toilet light fitting was tripping the main power switch which is why we could not turn the appartment power back on until we isolated that 1 light fitting and unplugged it. Considering we only had 2 nights here, it was very disappointing that we couldn't shower after a long day of train travel from norther Italy. Although we had an unfortunate experience on our first night, we absolutely enjoyed the rest of our stay and the area is 2 minutes walk to the Ponte Vecchio, supermarket and most central attractions. The 65 internal steps to the apartment will help you work off the best gelato you will ever find in Italy!
We have an antique French scone in the bathroom, and someone had put an Italian light bulb inside instead of a french bulb and it blew the lights on that side of the house. I had the electrician come and fix it. I will always tell my next guests not to change any bulbs. I am very glad that you enjoyed your trip in Florence. And that you liked the apartment . Best regards, Elizabeth
