Reconstruction of a stone farm cottage within 10 minutes walk of friendly local pub, shops, community centre and church. Only 10 minutes drive from the town of Tuam and 40 minutes from Galway city.
The cottage combines the advantages of a modern timber-framed building with the cosiness and character of the original, together with some great architectural features created by metal artist Steve Attwell. It has a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven) and enclosed garden with views over open farmland.
Delicious frozen ready prepared meals can be pre-ordered from the Yum Tree Kitchen menu, available on request. (7 days notice required).

A truly amazing hamlet. If you are going to visit this part of Ireland, stay here.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Kilconly. The four of us (my wife and two kids ages 9 and 5) had been traveling around Ireland before staying at this beautiful cottage. First off, the pictures don't do the place justice - Steve's amazing metal work, the fun decorations (complete with fairy door) and attention to details are fantastic. The hosts were very friendly and warm. They live right next to the cottage, responded very quickly to all correspondence, were always helpful yet respectful of our space. Upon arrival, we were greeted with some breakfast essentials that included freshly baked brown bread, a bowl of fresh fruit, butter, jam and milk. The place was clean and well kept and had all the essentials in addition to many extras like fun board games and great books (as well as two very friendly cats that came for regular visits).
Kilconly is indeed a quiet little town. After many days of visiting sites all around Ireland, we all enjoyed some downtime here. And while we had great plans to explore the broader surrounding areas during our three day stay, we all enjoyed Kilconly so much that we didn't leave. We enjoyed long walks around the area, seeing the nearby ruins of an ancient manor house, grabbing a pint at the pub (no food, just drinks) and some supplies at the local little shop, playing at the local park/play structure, and even catching a couple of pike at a nearby lake. Our stay here ended up being the highlight of our trip. After much travel the kids especially enjoyed some quiet time to explore the country side, play in the back yard, and sit and read.
Overall we had a wonderful time. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations and particularly the company of the beautiful hosts. It was by far the hardest place to leave.
I've lived here in Kilconly for 15 years with my husband and daughter and love the fresh, clean air, the mountain walks, the unspoilt beaches and the warmth and friendship of the local people. I feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful place.
