This two-room-Guesthouse has a bedroom with a stunning waterview and a small living (with a double sofa bed) which opens up to a private roof terrace. Both rooms have flatscreens. Very suitable for a small family of 4 or a small group of 4 friends.
Located in the absolute City Centre of Amsterdam, at one of the main canals, Prinsengracht, around the corner from the Rijksmuseum, the Van Goghmuseum, shopping area Leidse Straat and nightlife area Leidse Plein, stands this impressive monument (build around 1850 and renovated in 2009) in which the owner lives himself and rents out these two spacious guestrooms, with a private bathroom.
These two rooms are located on the second floor and are connected through the private bathroom; ideal for a small family. Offcourse the two rooms have entrances from the hallway as well (which can be locked). The main room overlooks the water in the Prinsengracht-canal and the smaller room (with the double sofabed) is in the back and has access to the private roofterrace.
If you would decide to have breakfast in the room or on the terrace under the parasol, there is a backery less than a minute walking from the guesthouse. And the room also has coffee and tea facilities for your convenience. But being in the centre of town, having breakfast around the corner would be just as easy !
A perfect place to start exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam :-)
Private rooms with connecting (private) bathroom. Each room can be reached from the hallway and locked separately. Only to be rented out together.
Around the corner from the Restaurant District Leidse Square Area and located at one of the main canals in City Centre.
Several tram- and busstops within minutes walking from the Guesthouse.
Very nice place and ideal location. We were two couples who stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time.
Location of the house is perfect, just a few steps to Leidse Straat and Leidse Plein. Decorations of the rooms and bathroom are stylish and comfortable.
Johan was a courteous and helpful host.
We really enjoyed to stay at Prinsengracht 490 and felt ourselves at home.
Thanks for everything.
We stayed in this location for 3 days on a recent family vac to Amsterdam. Found it to be clean and a great location for exploring the city. Surprisingly it was directly in front of a canal construction site which made it visually disruptive as well as occasionally noisy.
No dresser space was available and the left sink faucet did not work. There were Dirty clothes in the hamper under the sink.
We didn't meet the owner, who was away , but we did get to interact with the owner's very grumpy partner. We were given only one main exterior door key and had to buzz in from time to time. This was met with disdain from the partner who actually refused to allow us in and had my son sit outside on the step for over an hour waiting for us to return with the one outer door key.
I would recommend the location but not the rude welcome. Hopefully the owner would have been more accommodating.
