A private little slice of rustic, cozy cabin-living in the woods, less than a mile to historic Main Street in Clayton, GA. 100 year-old cabin on 1 1/2 lush, secluded acres. Smile-inducing "Rainbow Dawnkey" paintings and artistic touches throughout. TVs, dart board, games, large eat/work island. Wake to the sound of pileated woodpeckers and neighborhood rooster. Close to trails, waterfalls and Chattooga river. Enjoy award-winning food and drinks in town.

The space
Convenience and seclusion all in one! The cabin is in a residential area, but is nestled on a peaceful 1 1/2 acre lot, surrounded by trees, foliage and colorful flowers. 100 year-old cabin. The interior is super clean, comfy and cozy, decorated with the owner's original art, including the highly sought-after Rainbow Dawnkeys! The rear room is walled with windows, nice and open with lots of light and views of foliage and the fire pit. The unique wood floors are reclaimed wood from a nearby Lake Burton cabin. Plumbing and electrical are all new. Tankless water heater ensures nice hot showers and baths. Ingles Grocery and Starbucks are only blocks away. Great shopping and restaurants within a mile, including Fortify, Fortify Pi, Universal Joint, Friends, Rabun Social, Napa South Wine Bar, The Rusty Bike Cafe, Manrique's, La Pachanga, The Hush and the Clayton Cafe. Leroy the donkey and Flashy Jewell, the horse, are in the pasture across the street. Numerous hiking trails and waterfalls in the area to explore! The perfect cabin getaway to relax and rejuvenate. Note: if you are looking for a newer, contemporary vacation home, this is probably not the place for you. But, if you are looking for a mountain cabin artistic experience, you will not be disappointed!

Enjoy cooking in the fully stocked kitchen or out back on the Weber grill...or over the fire! Enjoy a game of darts, or just cuddle up and read or watch a movie.

Note: the rear window sun room is not heated, so probably a bit chilly to hang out in during the cold months.

Other things to note
The bedrooms do not have closets..however there are empty dressers in each bedroom and a rack for hanging clothes in the rear room.

While in a neighborhood, we are in the mountains, so you may see possums, ground hogs, skunks or foxes (rare) around the grounds! There is a motion detector light at the rear of the cabin that comes on at night, should one walk by. There are bears in the area, but they seldom venture into the neighborhood. I have seen one in the evening (up the street, while walking) in the past eleven years.

I enjoy traveling and am pretty happy anywhere I have a nice view with a cast iron skillet, coffee press, warm soft sleeping bag and pillow...although I do prefer a comfy bed in some lovely place I find on airbnb ;) I love animals, outdoors, art, pedal steel guitars, all kinds of music and good, healthy food. I seek the details in things, since that's where most of the love and passion is found.
