Hosting year round since December 2010. We are licensed with the State of Florida and Hillsborough County and removed our property from the FL Homestead Tax Credit. We mention this because our rental charges include a 12% sales tax.
The bungalow is 1170 sq. feet with central air and heat both use hyper allergenic air filers, Brighthouse basic Cable, 22" HDTV/DVD plus 70 DVD movies, WI FI and off-street parking. Our properties are Pet and Smoke Free in consideration of future guests and possible allergy and pulmonary related illnesses.
The bungalow provides all kitchen utensils, all seasonings, breakfast cereal and pancake mix for your first morning, coffee, tea, Florida orange juice and milk, butter, jam, and lite cleaning every third day, and fresh linen change weekly. We supply beach towels and cooler, suntan lotion and bug spray, bath soap, shampoo, makeup remover, free laundry & detergent, toilet paper, paper towels at no additional cost.
Maybe you have wistful memories of cookies from grandmother's oven, the old Studebaker, the whoosh of a long-ago train journey, the whir of a Singer sewing machine preparing for prom…I grew up in a Pasadena Bungalow as a child. When it came to planning an aesthetic for Erehwon, I felt that nostalgia would provide an important relief for our guests. I believe setting aside some time for memories elevates our mood, reminds us of the early times when we felt “protected." In short, being able to look back with satisfaction is to live it all over again. Perfect for our times.
Interaction with Guests
We are present on the property during your stay to answer questions and introduce you to the neighborhood and the surrounding area. Whether we're booking an executive transfer or vacationer, we are regularly greeting guests from across the United States, Canada,the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Finland , Germany, Argentina, we feel it's so important to help our guests feel comfortable and appreciated without ever intruding. In our four years 256 families found the time to relax and recharge at Erehwon Retreat - Cottage or Bungalow.
We are nestled in Old Seminole Heights, designated part of the National and State Register of Historic Places as well as local historic district designated by the City of Tampa. Within the Seminole Heights,we have a population of 23, 141 with 70% of the Bungalows and Mediterranean's owner occupied.
Seminole Heights has a number of small "in" restaurants, bakeries, Jet City Espresso and Starbucks, as well as a number of Craft Beer establishments within 1-6 blocks of Erehwon Retreat.
Our Arts and Crafts property is ideal for exploring Central Florida, with easy access to downtown Tampa (3 miles), Amtrak & Bus Terminals 3.3 miles, Tampa Cruise Ship Terminal 4.64 miles, U of Tampa 5 miles, Tampa International Airport (9 miles) both of which are also served by public transportation (Hart line #1 Florida Ave). Even this close to center city, our guests consistently comment on how quiet, relaxing and safe they feel at Erehwon and walking at any time of the day or night within our historic district.
Other Things to Note
Our rates includes 12% hotel taxes. Entire property is landscaped in Florida Native Plants that thrive under Florida conditions. We have minimized the number of plants that require watering. We designed our landscape to create cover, nesting areas and food and strictly limit use of pesticides to insecticidal soaps and horticultural oils to protect the health of our wildlife visitors.
1. NO early check-ins. If your plan to check in after 10 PM, please make special arrangements for arrival.
2. AUTHORIZED USE and GUESTS –
The premises are for the sole use as a personal vacation residence by not more than four persons. In order to refrain from disturbing the privacy and historic density regulations of the neighborhood, please arrange to meet friends and family off property. Rates may be adjusted if number in party exceeds that listed in Inquiry.
2.HOLD OVER -Guest agrees that there shall be no holding over or late departures without prior approval.

4. OCCUPANT AGE REQUIREMENT & DRIVER'S LISCENSE - You must be 25 years of age to book this property unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. The individual making the reservation must occupy Erehwon Retreat during the entire term of the reservation, Attach a clearly legible copy of the front of the Guest's driver/s license to this agreement. Credit card and driver's license must be in the name of the guest staying at Erehwon Retreat.
(website hidden) ASSIGNMENT or SUBLETTING- Guest(s) may not assign any interest in this agreement or sublet any part of the Premises. 6.WEDDING RECEPTIONS, BRIDAL DINNERS, BUSINESS ENTERTAINMENT & NON PROFIT RECEPTIONS are not permitted.
7.QUIET TIME-One of the most important quality of life issues in Old Seminole Heights is maintaining our peaceful and quiet neighborhood. During your visit, we ask you to be sure and respect “Quiet hours (10 PM to 7:30 AM on weekdays and 10 PM until 9 AM on weekends." At Erehwon Retreat, the “peace and health of members of our neighborhood" is of vital importance.
8.ALTERATIONS – We are offering a 1920's experience as shown in photos of every room. Guests shall not make any alteration in or about the Premises including but not limited to moving furniture, TV, art work, adding or changing locks, placing signs, displays or using screws, fastening devices or adhesive materials.
