Richard built this home himself! Lush and expansive gardens, a sustainable water and heating system, and several patios and hidden outdoor nooks were all a part of his plan. Lyn's five star hospitality included a hot cup of tea and homemade fruitcake upon arrival, among many other special touches. Tucked away ten minutes from the town of Taupo, this B&B is a perfect location to wake up in luxury and head out for day trips throughout the North Island. Don't forget to soak in the spa beneath the stars after a day of adventuring! Taupo has plenty to offer, and Richard and Lyn are pros about every kind of activity in the area. Thank you so much for such a warm Kiwi welcome. Highly, highly recommend.
Lyn, originally from Scotland, a retired banker and Richard, born in Taupo, retired firefighter, electrician and general handyman, enjoy sharing their dream home and gardens.
It has taken us twenty years of building and planting to convert what was 8 acres of windswept farmland into our hidden oasis of peace and tranquility.
We have travelled fairly extensively and provide you, our guests, with the things we looked for but often did not find when away from home. Friendly hospitality, local knowledge, warm comfortable roomes and beds, fantastic breakfasts and someone to talk to.
