  • This was a great place to stay. The bed was comfortable and we had use of a whole house so we were able to cook, do washing and watch TV in the lounge. Tan was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. It was easy to get to by bus, 25 mins from downtown.

  • We had a nice experience staying at Mai's guesthouse, starting when she kindly picked us up from the Skytrain station. The house is clean and has a nice kitchen and the room was comfortable. We were mostly on bikes so didn't use transit as much, but the bus stop is a block away and the Skytrain isn't far. There are some great Vietnamese restaurants nearby and Commercial Drive, with all kinds of everything, is a 15 minute walk away. We enjoyed our time here.

  • A nice place and a welcoming host, in a pleasant and accessible area.

  • We booked a room at Mai's place last minute, and the booking process was super easy and straightforward. Mai responded quickly to any questions. On arrival, she was friendly and very helpful. We had a downstairs room and while the room was a bit small, it suited our needs. The whole place was clean and other guests were friendly and curteous. This is not a party place if that's what you're after, in fact it's pretty quiet most of the time, It's well located and close to buses and great vietnamese restaurants. Definitely try the indian-chinese fusion restaurant on the corner! The only downside was the loud neighbours in the house next door and it'd be nicer to stay upstairs I would think as there's more light. But staying downstairs was cool and pleasant and overall I would have no qualms staying here again.

  • Mai is a lovely lady and always courteous, much like the other guests we lodged with. I would stay again if I needed a nice quiet place to stay in town.

  • Great place to stay!

  • We spent 3 days on the bus from the East coast to the West, it was long and tiring. Check in was at 12pm, and we arrived in Vancouver 8am, however, Mai offered for us to come take a load off shower and to leave our bags, but when we got there the room was ready and could of stayed and rest to recover before checking out the city. After the shower we were pumped to explore and Mai told us of places and routes to get to the city and back. It was an amazing trip, from walking across suspension bridge, to hiking in the forest, ziplining 4100 ft above sea level, the eye of the wind, meeting Koola and grindr to grizzly bears to an alpine experience and shopping and a whole lot more..
We are planning to visit again and we would love to stay at Mai's.... Thanks Mai....

  • Did not ending up staying at this house but at Mai's other place on 17th Ave. Mai was so friendly and she and her family made us feel so welcome. My girlfriend and I shared a double bed in a comfortable room which included use of a computer, as well as fridge and shelf space in the kitchen. The house is divided into an upstairs and a main floor suite, with visitors staying on the main floor in 4 private rooms with a common area and kitchen. I would happily stay with Mai again and thought that this place was great value for the money.

    Thank you Mai!

  • We were staying at Mai Tuyet's house for three nights and enjoyed it very much. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to a bus stop with a bus going downtown. There are a supermarket and a lot of restaurants nearby. The house and the room is very nice, quiet and clean, with a kitchen and living room which can be used by all guests. Mai is very helpful and friendly and we met some nice people there. We recommend mai's house without hesitation!
