About this listing
A cosy double room available in a newly renovated family home, located within walking distance of dublins top tourist attractions including kilmainham jail, phoenix park and guinness storehouse. 15 min bus ride to city centre.
With the help of family and friends, we have renovated our 1930s home. Located in the olde world community of Inchicore in Dublin 8. We offer a luxury double bedroom which sleeps two. The room is very comfortable; the bed is dressed in quality bed linen. In case you are cold in the night, we will provide you with a hot water bottle and some extra blankets. We supply bath towels and we'll leave out some bottled water and shower products! The bathroom has an electric shower, so you are always guaranteed hot water! In your room, there are tea and coffee making facilities and a little sweet treat.
When we renovated our house, we upgraded the heating system - we have central heating throughout the house, so you can be assured of a warm and cosy stay! You can control the heating in your room so you wont be too hot or too cold. We also upgraded the alarm system and have a full alarm censoring system throughout the house. Although our neighbourhood is very safe, we want to ensure you feel really safe when staying with us.
We have super fast broadband - the password is contained within the house manual which is left in your bedroom.
Guests have access to a comfortable double room and separate bathroom with electric shower. Given that we are a growing busy little family, the rest of the house is off limits. On arrival you will be given a set of house keys so you will be able to come and go as you please. We operate a very flexible and easy going household and welcome guests who are also flexible and easy-going.
Interaction with Guests
We are available to meet our guests on arrival and answer any questions you may have. We hope our guests enjoy the privacy our home allows & respect our family privacy too.
We will supply lots of brochures and city maps about things to do in the city. We can also give you details on travel discount cards that you can use on Dublin buses and trams. Please feel free to borrow our Ireland Lonely Planet guidebook and Dublin street map during your stay. And because its Ireland - we have lots of umbrellas just inside our front door ;-)
Our home is located in Inchicore, a historic part of Dublin. It is an area steeped in history and you will find plenty to do and see on the doorstep. You are approximately a 10 minute walk from top tourist attractions including Kilmainham Gaol (website hidden), Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and the War Memorial Gardens. Guinness Brewery on James Street is about about a 20 minute walk. You can get to all of these attractions using the LUAS tram or bus. Phoenix Park is nearby - this is Europe's largest city park and home to the Irish President. The park can be enjoyed for picnics, strolls or even a run (if you are feeling energetic!). St. Patrick's Athletic, the reigning League of Ireland soccer champions play their home games in the village of Inchicore. The grounds are a 5 minute walk from our house, it is well worth walking down to experience the buzz of match day on the street and in neighbouring pubs. As well as all of these wonderful sights, there are traditional pubs, shops, cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, hairdressers on our doorstep. We are happy to offer you any recommendations and information about the wonderful neighbourhood of Inchicore/Kilmainham and the city of Dublin.
Our home is located nearby the city centre and is really well served by public transport; approximately a 12 minute bus ride, a 15 minute cycle, a 15 minute tram ride, or a 45 minute walk. You are on multiple bus routes (no. 13, 68, 69), or 7 minutes walk from the red LUAS tram (Blackhorse stop) which serves the city centre as well as Dublin Bus Stations (Connolly and Bus Aras), Dublin Train Station (Heuston) and the O2 (a popular concert venue).
Heuston Station, Ireland's main railway station is 7 stops away on the LUAS tram, it takes about 15 mins by tram to get there. Heuston is a gateway to the rest of the country with rail connections to Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Limerick as well as many other destinations.
Dublin City Bikes have just been installed in Kilmainham and provide a really nice way to get around the whole city.
If you are travelling by car, you are also a 4 minute drive to the M50/N4 junction (Dublin's main ring road) and 20 minutes drive from the airport. There is free on-street parking right outside our home.
For guests arriving from Dublin airport, the special 747 bus terminates at Heuston Station which is less than 2.5 km away. You can take the red LUAS tram to right by our house. Our stop is Blackhorse.
Most public transport stops at about mid-night, however on the weekends (Friday and Saturday night) there is a NiteLink bus service that operates. The 25n bus leaves Westmoreland Street in the city centre at 00.00am, 01.00am, 02.00am, 03.00am and 04.00am and will drop you in Inchicore Village, which is a 3 minute walk from our house. This bus costs €5 if you have a LEAP card or €6 if you pay by cash. (website hidden)
Other Things to Note
It important that guests know that we have a lovely little baby, she is very placid and great fun to be around, however there are times when babies (like adults!) can be a bit unpredictable.
Rule number 1 - You must feel at home and relaxed when you are staying with us!! :-)
Just a few other things to note...
We are a busy family home and unfortunately cannot grant guests access to the kitchen and living area.
We don't allow smoking indoors.
Check In and check out are flexible, please just let us know as far in advance as you can and we can arrange a time that suits everyone.
For safety reasons, we only accept guests that are included on your booking.
Lastly, no pets allowed. We do love pets, but at the moment its just a bit easier not to have them about.
we spent one night at their home, they were really friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay
Accueil très courtois. Leur BB est adorable et les parents font ce qu'il faut pour que le séjour soit agréable. La chambre est très propre. Dommage qu'il n'y est aucune possibilité de petit déjeuner. Mireille et Marc
The bedroom was perfect, very comfy bed and lovely and clean... The shared bathroom the same... The house is lovely... Met Mareesa and lovely Baby Ava (the quietest Baby ever!), both very nice and welcoming... :)
They have a lovely home and are super nice and accomadating. Would definitely recommend to others!
Evan and Mareesa did a great job hosting us. They accommodated our late check-in which was a big help to us since our flight arrived very late. It was easy to reach central Dublin by both bus and light rail. We would stay again and recommend others to stay there.
We had a lovely stay with Mareesa, Eve & possibly the quietest baby in Ireland. Such a lovely home in a safe urban area, it really felt like staying in a home away from home. Great location for easy access to the city & on street parking. Very easy going hosts, lovely comfy bed, what more could you ask for
We had a lovely stay with Mareesa and Evan! Their house is beautiful, clean and we felt very comfortable coming and going. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, but really close to town and public transport so a great base to explore Dublin from!

About the Host, Mareesa And Evan
Hi! Thank you for visiting our profile. We are experienced Airbnb hosts with over 60 excellent reviews for our other listing (please see our other listing for reviews).
We are a married couple living in our newly renovated house in Dublin. We took a little break from Airbnb for a few months to welcome our new little baby girl into the world. It's important that we mention that we have a baby and therefore a very busy little home. Our little girl keeps us on our feet all day but sleeps well at night (for now!!). We are constantly in and out of the house so you might see lots of us or you might not see us much.
We decided to open our home up to Air BnB guests because we think it's great that you can stay somewhere, really feel at home, meet new people and for it not to cost a fortune!
Feel free to contact us and ask us any questions!
