I work for an Event planning company specialized in business travel so I'll be a good adviser for off-the-track spots. You'll also find plenty of documentation and maps of NYC in the apartment. I work office hours (10 to 7pm). Afterwards I usually go to the gym and have a lot of events going on on weekday nights.
As busy as i can be sometimes, I also signed up to Airbnb because you get to know amazing people from all around the world and if you want to hang out around a glass of good wine, I will be more happy to do so!
Carine is very very nice! She is very friendly and loves to talk. I love her energy!
I didn't count the number of flights of stairs, but be prepare for a work out. This is a walk-up. Probably 2 flights per floor, and this is on the 5th or 6th floor.
Although we had communicated the days before and she said she would be there to greet me and provide me with the key. On the day when I arrived, she was not there. She apparently mistaken and thought I was arriving the day after. Understandable I guess.
Her place is very cozy. There are 2 bedrooms, a good size kitchen and it opens up to the living room. I took the bedroom furthest from the street, which was much quieter. The bed/mattress I stayed on was on the floor, but it was comfortable. The living room and kitchen was spacious I thought for New York. However the bathroom was tiny. I have to say the bathtub is very hard to shower. I am skinny (size 2) and when you close the curtains, I could barely turn in the showers without smashing into the curtains.
The closest subway stop is Hunter's College, it's approx 3 avenues over, but you can take the M66 cross town bus to get there.
I had the place to myself for my entire stay. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Got some exercise from walking up and down the stairs. =)
Good host feel us comfortable
A little bit small but it s allright because location is perfect in cheap price
Very Nice place and perfect location (68th str hunter college green line ) handy kitchen although we didn't cook because there are enough options in the area. We stayed 5 nights. 6th Floor is painfull after a whole day of walking. Small bathroom but has it All. A petty we didn't meet Carine (very busy at work) we were looking forward to that glass of red wine. Recommend the place, clean and cosy, good wifi, kitchen good basic equipment...... check in and out was well arranged. It was a great first with Airbnb. Thx Carine and u ow me a glass wine! :-)
Greetzzz Kris & Joris
Perfect stay, no problem. Carine was very kind and helpful. We had no problems neither for the check-in nor check-out. The house is small (especially the bathroom, for as we are used to in Italy), but it went well for the kind of living that we did (only for sleep). Perfect proximity to the subway and excellent area(local to eat late in the vicinity). Overall positive vote!
Amazing apartment. Carine was so accommodating and nice she was always able to get ahold of and the room was spacious with a very comfortable feel. Made my stay wonderful!
Carine was super friendly and always helpful. Check in and check outs were easily sheduled. The location of her place is very good, yet the room is quite small, just as she describes it on her page, but perfectly fine for its purpose. Never hesitate to stay there ! Thank you Carine, we had a great time. C u next time we'll be coming to NYC :)
Carine is an adorable guest, very helpfull and made us feel very welcome. It was great to be able to cook for oneself in the kitchen. What was somehow more difficult was the tighthness of the bathroom, my friend who is a little bit large had problem to move in it. The apartment, quite charming, is situated in the 6th floor of the house without elevator, which makes it less suitable for unfit guests! But we have to tell that we made the reservation long time ago and Carine moved into another flat in the between time, so that we haven't known about the hints of the new location.

Originally from France, I've been living in NYC for 5 years.
I work in Business Travel, selling NYC as a destination, which allows me to know plenty of good spots in the city that I'm always happy to share!
I do everything I can to make every guest as happy as could be. I work very hard to keep all of the spaces I host clean comfortable & friendly. I am very accommodating and ready to work with your special requests & budgets.
I'm also a real travel lover and usually make sure that I know somebody in the country where i go to as I'm convince that staying with the locals gives a big plus to the travelling experience!
That is also the reason why i signed up on Airbnb.. I find refreshing to have hosts from all over the world, experiencing cultural differences, etc.
