Some info has been automatically translated.
Our open plan cottage studio has lovely views of our walnut orchard, historic barn and fields. Enjoy sunset over the neighboring vineyards from your private deck.

We are a mile down the road from a lovely State park, that is if you ever want to leave our tranquil little farm. Also nearby are wineries, hiking trails up a dormant volcano, and California's largest and oldest lake.

Our farm is featured in the September 2022 issue of Sunset magazine. Check it out!

The space
The cottage is a separate building detached from the main house with its own parking spot, entrance, deck, and fenced yard. Our farm is a little over 7 acres and is bordered by vineyards on either side, and a seasonal creek at the back of the property. We grow mainly saffron, which is harvested in the fall, as well as garlic, walnuts, and soon, olives and lavender.

The studio has a kitchenette fully equipped for making light meals, and the living room area in the open plan studio has a sofa bed that folds out to a twin bed. The living room area has a television monitor that you can use to watch your streaming media subscription on (Netflix etc), or our collection of DVD's and a collection of board games.

The yard is also large enough to pitch a tent, if you have friends or children that would like to sleep outside. Let us know as there is an additional charge for this. We are happy to welcome guests with dogs and the cottage yard is fenced so that you may let your dog run and enjoy. There is a $25 charge for dogs which will be added to your reservation. No cats please.

You can see lots of photos of the farm on our website: peaceplentyfarm dot com

Guest access
We welcome visits to the farm itself and are happy to arrange that with you in advance.

Dogs are allowed with a $25 cleaning deposit. Please let us know if you will be bringing one and do not let your dog off-leash on the farm.

Other things to note
This is a working farm, so there may be agricultural-based activity and noises while you are here. We are mindful not to make noise before 8am and after 9pm. If you really want to sleep till noon, let us know and we can see what we can do!

The cleaning is completed by a professional trained in Covid safety protocols and using approved cleaning and disinfecting products.

Neighborhood highlights

There are several wineries within a short drive of the farm, a lovely State park just down the road, Mt Konocti volcano with gorgeous hikes within 10-15 drive, and some great dining options in Kelseyville and Lakeport. As well as the lake itself, there is a reservoir that is good for swimming (and blackberry picking in the summer) we can direct you to, and the Blue Lakes, about 25 minutes north that are clean and lovely. Hopland is about a 25-30 minute drive away.

We have a small organic farm on 7+ acres here in Lake County. Simon is an ornithologist, and worked for many years for The Nature Conservancy. I am a former caterer and love to preserve, bake, and farm. We started the farm the summer of 2017 and are excited to be growing organic saffron, among other crops. Check out this great story by Tara Duggan in the SF Chronicle about our farm: "California-grown-saffron-arrives-in-the-Bay-Area"
