The old town (Vieux Nice) beneath the hill is a maze of streets and alleys, with many picturesque houses, boutiques and home to the daily flower and fruit market of the Cours Saleya.
Near the central bus terminal, there is also the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) with four connected towers featuring modern and contemporary artists and their sculptures, paintings, and conceptual installations. Its open-air roof terraces offer one of the best panoramas of the city.
To the west, there is the Musee des Beaux-Arts housing an excellent collection of pastels and other works by Jules Cheret, among other artists.
Cliff Walk — If you go past the old port (probably 15 minute walk) heading east toward Monaco, there is a little pathway that leads from Coco Beach along the side of the cliff, the "Sentier Littoral" which you can follow around Cap de Nice half way to Villefranche, but be prepared for several hundred steps up to rejoin the road. It’s a very beautiful walk and you will find mostly local people using it.

We stayed at Laurent's flat for 3 nights. It is located in my opinion, the most charming part of the city. After a 30 minute walk from Garre Lyon station with all of our luggage(we hadn't figured out tram yet) then we were faced with a steep incline leading up to the flat, and stairs.
Laurent was responsive to my questions and greeted us with a smile. Once we got to the flat we felt that it was true to the photos provided & very clean. He even provided us with a small portable air conditioning that were are forever grateful for (the apartment does not have air con, and it was a steamy few days in Nice). If you are traveling with lots of luggage the space is small for 2 people, but manageable, and the bathroom is small clean and modern. While we were there we enjoyed all the cafes and shops around, and it is a short walk to the beach. Thanks Laurent!
Amazingly comfy apartment in the perfect location, the newly renovated bathroom made my girlfriend very happy. Laurent made sure I knew all the best bars, restaurants and local events. I will definitely be staying there again.
Amazing stay.. Laurent and Isabelle were fantastic hosts. Very accommodating for any of our needs. Location was perfect.. right in the heart of Nice old town. Really felt like a local in this apartment. Apartment was clean and spacious enough for two.
The apartment is completely remodeled with most everything you may need for a short visit. The location is in the center of Old Nice. If you drive, you must park underground.(87 Euros for a week)
Laurent was very helpful in spite of our late arrival driving from Dijon. He helped with our baggage, parked our car and set up our WiFi.
Laurent was super responsive and flexible. We arrived later than expected due to a delayed flight and he waited until very late at night and then graciously left the keys at a small restaurant below the flat. The parking provided (at a small extra fee) was more than worth it: a private spot in the central garage and very near the flat. To those that are renting a car here, do not attempt to brave the village streets to try to reach the flat (we ended up on very narrow alleys and going the wrong way on one way streets to try to get out of the maze after we did just that).
The apartment a fine size for two people and has all you could need. It has also been renovated so everything is nice and new. The location is great as well: you can walk to the beach in 2 minutes and the whole old village is at your fingertips.
Laurent was Very easy to deal with, and the apartment was great, the best position in nice. Would stay here again.
