The old town (Vieux Nice) beneath the hill is a maze of streets and alleys, with many picturesque houses, boutiques and home to the daily flower and fruit market of the Cours Saleya.
Near the central bus terminal, there is also the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) with four connected towers featuring modern and contemporary artists and their sculptures, paintings, and conceptual installations. Its open-air roof terraces offer one of the best panoramas of the city.
To the west, there is the Musee des Beaux-Arts housing an excellent collection of pastels and other works by Jules Cheret, among other artists.
Cliff Walk — If you go past the old port (probably 15 minute walk) heading east toward Monaco, there is a little pathway that leads from Coco Beach along the side of the cliff, the "Sentier Littoral" which you can follow around Cap de Nice half way to Villefranche, but be prepared for several hundred steps up to rejoin the road. It’s a very beautiful walk and you will find mostly local people using it.
Laurent was away when we stayed but we were realy well looked after by Isabelle. We asked her if we could borrow an iron which she brought straight to the apartment. The apartment is very small and compact but has everything you need. The bedroom is a complete separate room which is nice. The location is pretty perfect, it's towards the edge of the old town so it's really easy to get to everywhere you need to go. There are lots of bars and restaurants within a very short walk. We would recommend the apartment and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Laurent's Appartement was really fantastic. It is situated ideally in a small street of Vieux Nice. After you climb up the narrow staircase to the first floor, you find a beautiful, recently renovated flat consisting of a living room - kitchen and a small bedroom. The appartement is tastefully furnished and decorated. We loved it!
Laurent was a very nice host. He came to meet us at the car park to show us the way and provided us with a permanent parking card for the duration of our stay.
Merci, merci beaucoup, Laurent. Salut amicale de St-Petersbourg!
Great stay. The apartment is in the heart of old Nice, so much history and character. A true French experience, and the sea and market are just around the corner. The apartment felt a little musty, but everything was clean and proper, and the beach towels and maps were a nice addition. As a young couple we thought it was great, and the location is perfect. We'd stay there again for sure!
Fabulous little pad, centrally located in the old city.
The apartment very cozy and in very good area. A row - Place Charles Felix, a pleasant place where the markets are carried out and meet locals to drink coffee. And literally across the road already embankment. Near apartments there are restaurants where it is possible to have supper. And not so far stop of buses.
In the apartment there is all necessary: refrigerator, plate, microwave oven, iron. Wi-Fi worked perfectly. And Lauren was very hospitable and was ready to help with everything. The card and the guidebook of Nice which he presented very came in handy.
I am very happy the with rest and I hope to return there again.
Danke, Laurent!
Very small, nice apartment on a quiet street in the heart of Nice. Five minutes before the market Cours Saleya, restaurants and the beach. The nearby bus stop to Cannes, Monaco and the airport. Laurent is very nice and helpful. He gave us a map of the city, and showed where the store, the important sights and bus stops. The only thing that confused - bad smell on the stairs and in the room was a bit stuffy. But this is only a small minus. We had a great time in Nice and recommend staying in the apartment Laurent.
Laurent's flat is in an amazing location in the middle of the beautiful old town but tucked away in a quiet little Ruelle which is incredibly quiet considering its central location. It's just a few minutes walk from the beach, Cours Saleya and bus and tram stops that will take you practically anywhere you want to go within a very short time.
The flat itself is simple and rustic but has everything you need including a little oven and a fridge for self catering, double bed, wardrobes, an air conditioning unit and a TV. The flat is quite small but probably bigger than a hotel room and is split into two rooms, so with two of us there it never felt cramped.
Laurent was very welcoming and gave us lots of information when we first arrived and then left us to our own devices but was happy to help if we ever needed it as he only works down the road.
The only negative would be the occasional smell from the drains in the communal staircase - never in the flat - but considering the building is probably a hundred years old or more you can forgive that, especially as it was the cheapest place we could find to stay in the whole City!
I would definitely recommend :-)
Me and my sister just spend a week in this lovely apartment. It is perfectly placed in the old town of Nice. It is close to the beach and every thing you need is in walking distance.
The apartment is very clean when you arrive and the place is perfekt for 2 people, but not any more than that. I can't say anything bad about the place, it was very good and I would certainly rent this place again if I'm going back to Nice.
Laurent is very sweet and if you need help with something then he's happy to help.
