A cozy, welcoming home in one of the prime neighborhoods in (website hidden) Minneapolis is home to eclectic artists of all kinds, trendy new micro breweries, an ethnic eating strip on Central Avenue, great parks and families!
*** Low rate of just $95/night! :)
This is a house with a FULL kitchen, bathroom, living room, sunroom/office, and great backyard garden, not just a room, or apartment in an apartment building.
Plus, I check out when you check in, so you have the place to yourself.
Before securing your dates, please be sure to read the house rules section, thank you :)
One of the best things about the house is that it's located, very conveniently between Mpls and St. Paul - A few miles from the U of M and just 5 minutes from downtown Minneapolis! Freeway entrance is just a couple blocks away. One block from a major bus route and 15 minutes from the airport and Mall of America.

*Bike (Mountain Bike/lock) available for your use by request. Also Minneapolis was rated #1 Bike City by several sources online, including Outside Online! We also have a new bike renting program called "Nice Ride", with bikes that are easily rentable at posts throughout the city, rent by day or month. Check them out online for more locations, etc. Also, there is a great app to plan your bike route called, Ride the City, I recommend checking this out.. as well I have thorough bike trail maps.
*Breweries: It would be a great idea to rent bikes and head over to any of NE Mpls's several breweries (Search the internet for " NY Times NE Minneapolis " or search " NE Minneapolis Breweries ", where we are quickly becoming known as Brewtown and making really incredible beers! (Indeed, 612 Brew, Dangerous Man, and more popping up everyday within a short bike ride from the house). Or take a ride along the river and Minneapolis's many bike paths including the Greenway - I have maps! Check out NE Minneapolis bar hopping by way of one of our local "Pedal Pubs"! (see my pictures) or simply on foot :)
This rental has its own private entrance. The guest has access to the main floor apartment of this house, including kitchen (dishes & appliances), full bathroom, bedroom, living room and sunroom/office. Also feel free to use the yard and backyard.
I generally allow guests to have their complete peace while renting after the initial greeting and introduction to the house, but they are also free to contact me at any time during their stay.
Welcome to NE Minneapolis! Coming to town to tour our incredible NE Minneapolis breweries? Or for theater, farmers markets, or our great local Arts events? A business convention? Or to visit nearby relatives? NE Minneapolis is a convenient, centrally located, yet safe, residential spot for your homebase. It's artsy, quaint, and full of neighborhood bars and restaurants, many of them with acclaimed chefs and locally raised ingredients! Pub crawls are very popular in NE because it's so easy to walk from one bar to the next, and each has its own individual flavor. :) My house happens to be just over a century old, though you wouldn't know it from looking at it, it does retain some of that great old character.
The neighborhood is all residential with sidewalks, though a short, 1.5 block walk to restaurants and major grocery store, Target, etc. There is a large park with wading pool, tennis courts, soccer/ice skating just one block from the house. Freeway entrances are only 3 blocks away making the location really ideal and quick to get to any other part of the city. It's a 5 minute drive to downtown, and a fairly easy bike ride as well, on surface roads.
There is a major bus route a block from the house and a very handy website for metro transit to help you plan your route. Also, close by are Nice Ride bikes available for rental and a great new bike shop also in NE, about 7-8 blocks from the house. Short term car rentals, sometimes by the hour, are becoming more and more popular here. The light rail line is expanding and will get you quickly to the airport, downtown, or Mall of America area.
** For allergy sensitive people, be aware I do have a short-haired cat, though she will not be here, unless you would like her company and request it. She's very friendly and loves to cuddle!

Super cute and unique place. Emily was a great host. Very easy to communicate with. Would not hesitate in recommending!
Had a great time! Great location for us and the house had a very nice/well provisioned kitchen. I would recommend it to anyone.
Emily was a warm, friendly, accommodating, helpful, and overall amazing host with great communication!! Her home is comfortable, beautifully decorated, clean, great parking, loaded with wonderful books and art, and in a great location close to the arts district with plenty of breweries, coffee shops, etc. close by. I would absolutely stay here again when visiting Minneapolis in the future, and would recommend her place to my friends and family! Such a positive and wonderful experience!!! :)
Also, Minneapolis was a great city to visit, my husband and I loved Nye's Polonaise room, Punch Pizza, and 612 Brewery, to name a few fun places to visit, all close to Emily's house! :)
Emily's lovely home was perfect for our one night needing accommodation in Minneapolis. She was very communicative and helpful during the entire process. I'd definitely recommend both Emily and her cozy retro house.
Emily's house is absolutely adorable and such a wonderful, comfortable place to stay. Her charming home (which is very conveniently located-- just a few blocks from Target and close to a giant liquor and cheese emporium) was the perfect oasis from family holiday stress. Emily herself was exceedingly helpful and accommodating, and totally thorough in her preparations to make guests feel at home. Can't recommend her enough! :)
Staying at Emily's was exactly what we were hoping for! Her place was hospitable, colourful and warm. We weren't able to meet each other, but she gave us space---which is what we were hoping for. We wanted a privacy while getting help when we needed it. (Which is what we got from Emily).
We had a very good experience staying at Emily's place! Emily had great communication and was there to meet us when we said we would be there. She was a really good hostess telling us about the neighborhood, and the 1st floor apt had what we needed for our stay. I'd look it up again if I need to stay int he neighborhood again.
Emily's Cozy Retro House was a great place to stay. Parking was easy, the living room was comfortable, and it was only a short bus ride away from all the happenings downtown. I liked that I had access to a kitchen and could cook my own meals if I wanted. I would definitely recommend this place to stay in Minneapolis. Living here made exploring the city so easy!
Emily provides a delightful home away from home. The many comfortable rooms, including a sun porch, allow the visitor to enjoy having a home of one’s own – in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood in Minneapolis just a short distance from the University and downtown. And convenient to the Lakes. Emily took the time not only to answer all my questions but to offer additional – very helpful – suggestions for things to do and places to visit. Also, I should say that if you find yourself staying in and relaxing, the house has fascinating, creative décor and a remarkable collection of books. Thank you for your gracious, responsive hospitality and your lovely home!
My wife and I stayed at Emily's cozy home while we visited the area for a couple days around our anniversary. The lower-level home was very comfortable and the Northeast is a cool part of Minneapolis.. one which we've never been to. One of my favorite things to do at the home was to relax in the sunroom/office over a cup of courtesy coffee while browsing Emily's collection of books or figuring out what we wanted to do that day. Emily was a very accommodating host, who's creativity is evident throughout her colorful home. She also provided great spots to check out in the NE. We actually dropped some of our plans in favor of her recommendations and have absolutely no regret.
This was our first experience with airbnb.. thanks for making it a good one Emily! My wife still talks about Maizy!
