*Breweries: It would be a great idea to rent bikes and head over to any of NE Mpls's several breweries (Search the internet for " NY Times NE Minneapolis " or search " NE Minneapolis Breweries ", where we are quickly becoming known as Brewtown and making really incredible beers! (Indeed, 612 Brew, Dangerous Man, and more popping up everyday within a short walk or bike ride from the house). Welcome to NE Minneapolis! Coming to town to tour our incredible NE Minneapolis breweries? Or for theater, farmers markets, or our great local Arts events? A business convention? Or to visit nearby relatives? NE Minneapolis is a convenient, centrally located, yet safe, residential spot for your homebase. It's artsy, quaint, and full of neighborhood bars and restaurants, many of them with acclaimed chefs and locally raised ingredients! Pub crawls are very popular in NE because it's so easy to walk from one bar to the next, and each has its own individual flavor. :) My house happens to be just over a century old, though you wouldn't know it from looking at it, it does retain some of that great old character.
The neighborhood is all residential with sidewalks, though a short, 1.5 block walk to restaurants and major grocery store, Target, etc. There is a large park with wading pool, tennis courts, soccer/ice skating just one block from the house. Freeway entrances are only 3 blocks away making the location really ideal and quick to get to any other part of the city. It's a 5 minute drive to downtown, and a fairly easy bike ride as well, on surface roads.
There is a major bus route a block from the house and a very handy website for metro transit to help you plan your route. Also, close by are Nice Ride bikes available for rental and a great new bike shop also in NE, about 7-8 blocks from the house. Short term car rentals, sometimes by the hour, are becoming more and more popular here. There is an HourCar, parked 1 block from the house, so very handy! The light rail line is ever expanding and will get you quickly to the airport, downtown, or Mall of America area.. and now to St. Paul too!

We liked our stay at Emily's.
We have never been before in Minneapolis and we were very glad that location we chose worked very well for us. It is just ten minutes away from some major highlights of the city. At the same time this place is far from the big roads. We enjoyed the peace and quietness.
Emily has very nice library. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to explore more her wonderful books. Maybe next time :-)
We happened to forgot few pieces of clothes after we left.
Emily took her time and mailed them to us. So kind of her!
Emily was a wonderful host! She helped me out greatly in my time of need when another rental fell through and I needed a place to stay immediately. She was fast to respond and very sympathetic of my situation. Emily's apartment was perfect for my stay, easy access to both Mlps and St. Paul, close to shopping and much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. Highly recommended for others looking to stay in the Mlps area.
My husband and I were looking for the perfect home away from home while staying in Minneapolis and Emily's place was just that. It's located in a trendy neighborhood with lots to do and see and close to downtown. She allowed our fur kids which was greatly appreciated. The book full of suggestions on places on to eat and drink was helpful when deciding where to go. We will definitely stay here again, thanks!
Emily is a great host. My boyfriend and I enjoyed sitting on the couch and appreciating all her wonderful decorations and colors. Comfortable, private and fun! Thanks Emily!
Emily's home was very welcoming! It was decorated in such a fun and whimsical yet warm way! It was very clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. She was there to greet us, give us the 'low down' on her home, and answer any questions we might have. The neighborhood was quiet with plenty of parking. Would stay here again!
My family and I absolutely loved Emily's place in Nordeast Minneapolis. It was fun, quirky, comfy, and creative. I could have spent a long time reading books in the sunroom, where we spent a majority of our time while at "home."
The location was amazing. We stayed at Emily's for 10 days and during that time we were able to enjoy many restaurants, breweries, and art-related activities in the area. Target and Caribou were a short walk away which made it easy to pick up necessities.
About the Host, Emily
Hi, I'm Emily. Being an artist, my house is colorful, eclectic, and full of interesting bobbles from my explorations, near and far. My most recent trip was to Morocco where I was really inspired by the colors, patterns, and everything but the heat! I have a good sized collection of books focusing mostly on art and holistic health subjects. I love to garden and have a good mix of sun and shade to show off some great varieties of hostas and other perennials. I also love to cook, and can never really be held to a recipe!
