Interaction with Guests
Hi, I'm your host Maria! I'm very friendly with extensive overseas travel experiences, so I will assist as much as possible to make guests feel comfortable and give them a quality vacation. I was a European tour guide based in Germany for two years, but now I'm a high school teacher of English As A Foreign Language. Having been born in southern Slovakia, I still speak Hungarian and Slovakian pretty well in addition to English. Places I've visited include most of Europe, parts of Russia, East Africa, most of the Caribbean, and parts of Central and South Africa. More adventures are planned for the future! My hobbies include cycling, walking on the beach, learning new things, fitness and healthy living, my pets, spending time with friends, and traveling.
The Wave is in south St. Pete in an area called Pinellas Point because it's at the tip of the Pinellas peninsula, 1/4 mile from Tampa Bay and the Skyway Bridge. My condo is on the 4th floor and faces woods and palm trees for a secluded resort feeling! The Wave is minutes from I-275 highway for convenience to Tampa. It is close to Eckerd College, Ft. Desoto Park, Maximo Park, downtown St. Pete, Gulf of Mexico beaches, Clearwater, and even Bradenton and Sarasota for a day trip.
Condo is a half mile from I-275, so it's very convenient access to get around St. Pete, Pinellas County, Tampa International Airport, and other parts of Tampa including Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium, and Adventure Island Water Park. The condo is about 90 miles from Orlando, so also very convenient to the Disney Theme Parks and Universal Studios. The condo is four miles east of St. Pete Beach, Ft. DeSoto Park, and the Gulf of Mexico. It's adjacent to a private marina and about a 1/4 mile from Tampa Bay and Maximo Park at the tip of the Pinellas peninsula. This area of St. Pete is called Pinellas Point because it's at the base of the Skyway Bridge which passes into the next county to the south. Major grocery stores, shops, gas stations/convenience stores are a 10 minute walk from the condo.
Other Things to Note
Free guest parking outside of the condo building is available for visitors with a car. You can also park for free on the street in front of the building.
No smokers, please. Clean kitchen and dishes after using them and keep the condo tidy. Be respectful of the residents who live here full-time which means no loud parties or noises after 11 p.m. The condos are not to be used for drunken parties. This is private property in which people live year-round so respectful, appropriate behavior is mandatory. Do not bring strangers or extra guests into the condo who have not been disclosed to me and airbnb prior to booking for security reasons. Please turn off lights and ceiling fans when you leave condo and turn up the AC to conserve electricity. Thank you!
We were very lucky to stay with Maria in her very nice and clean apartment, which is located central at St. Petersburg. We had very good conversation and Maria gave us many nice recommandations where to go and to spend our short time in St. Petersburg. We had a parking lot in front of the house and she helped us to find her apartment even we arrived later in the evening. Many thanks to Maria and we absolutly would come again and stay with Maria. I recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Petersburg!
Maria was very friendly and hospitable. She was very easy to get along with. Because she gave it easy free use of the apartment. The cats were not a problem. The accommodation was a clean comfortable and in an excellent location with easy parking. I would definitely stay there again.
Maria was a wonderful host, very friendly. The cats were sweet as can be! The walls of the building are very thin and people were playing music until fairly late in the night. It is a good location without being in the middle of traffic. Easy access to beach as well as downtown. The building had a slight smell to it. Overall, Maria is wonderful and staying with her was good
This was a very disappointing place to stay. Maria was very disorganised and my first day of only three days was completely wasted. I informed Maria of my arrival time into Tampa airport ahead of time. I text Maria when I landed with my approximate arrival time only to be informed that I would have to go into St Petersburg and wait around for a few hours as she had to go to a meeting at 2.30pm. This information was not shared prior to my arrival and Maria had known a few days prior to this. I had been travelling since 4am. At 5pm I then was got a text that she would be at the meeting until 7pm. Now I had to go find her and pick up her own key and wait at the apartment for her return as she had not brought me a key of my own. Maria then did not get in touch until 10pm so I had to go back into town so that I could return her key and go out for the latter part of the night.
It was a clean tidy home not very welcoming and Maria was not very knowledgable about restaurants, public transport etc. If you have a car and want easy access to down town it's ok for you.
Remember in the U.S. That 5 minutes from the beach is by car, not if you use public transport.
You were the totally disorganized person, Robert. No local phone, no SIM card, no car but had to use Uber to go everywhere because you were afraid you'd be too drunk to drive back here safely which you yourself stated. I informed you via airbnb that I had a vital meeting to attend that could last hours downtown and you said "no problem." I even walked during a break to meet (email hidden) downtown where you were drinking to give you the keys to my condo so you could take an Uber and go there to relax while I returned to my meeting which took 6.5 hours as you knew. Oh, you were soo sympathietic, sweetheart. What a FAKE GUY YOU REALLY ARE! Wow! You are such a fake person that I REGRET TAKING YOU TO A RESTAURANT WITH MY OWN CAR FOR LUNCH!!! You are a drunk and a loser, Robert. Your drinking makes you look 20 years beyond your age of 43 or so. And, you are a total hypocrite too and smile to my face, borrow my umbrellas, take all I offered you. and then you write this trash about me when you cannot take accountability for your own personal and emotional problems. Ciao!
We only stayed here for one night, came late and left early in the morning because we were on our way to Fort Mayers. Maria the host was very friendly and welcoming. She gave us a lot of suggestion on what to see along our roadtrip. Fantastic! If you dont like cats this is not a place for you.
The description hid nothing, very honest. Maria was extremely welcoming and professional. She gave us a tour, she introduced us to the lovely cats, and she even left us room in the fridge!
