Hi, I live here in this beautiful 2/2 condo which I've decorated with joy and am proud to share with others. I'm a friendly, polite, optimistic, flexible, nice person who also works hard to manage 5 private condos in this building. I welcome only friendly, upbeat, caring people who will bring me a positive experience. Pessimistic, arrogant, critical people with negative energy are not welcome. I have 2 cats so if you don't like cats, don't book here. If you expect perfection, please book somewhere else.
Hi, I'm Maria, your host. Please contact me about long-term pricing (1-3 months) in this shared condo since it's different from the daily rate. The Wave is an architecturally unique, renovated 1960s building with all rounded external and internal elements. It truly looks like a wave! It may get a Historic Heritage designation from the city in the future which would be an incredible honor. Renovations since the 2008 real estate bust have been vast with more to come in 2016 and 2017 so please be patient as we make our unique building better and better!

Interaction with Guests
Hi, I'm your host Maria! I'm very friendly with extensive overseas travel experiences, so I will assist as much as possible to make guests feel comfortable and give them a quality vacation. I was a European tour guide based in Germany for two years. Having been born in southern Slovakia, I still speak Hungarian and Slovakian pretty well in addition to English. Places I've visited include most of Europe, parts of Russia, East Africa, most of the Caribbean, and parts of Central and South Africa. More adventures are planned for the future! My hobbies include cycling, walking on the beach, learning new things, fitness and healthy living, my pets, spending time with friends, and traveling.
The Wave is in south St. Pete in an area called Pinellas Point because it's at the tip of the Pinellas peninsula, 1/4 mile from Tampa Bay and the Skyway Bridge. My condo is on the 4th floor and faces woods and palm trees for a secluded resort feeling! The Wave is minutes from I-275 highway for convenience to Tampa. It is close to Eckerd College, Ft. Desoto Park, Maximo Park, downtown St. Pete, Gulf of Mexico beaches, Clearwater, and even Bradenton and Sarasota for a day trip.
Condo is a half mile from I-275, so it's very convenient access to get around St. Pete, Pinellas County, Tampa International Airport, and other parts of Tampa including Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium, and Adventure Island Water Park. The condo is about 90 miles from Orlando, so also very convenient to the Disney Theme Parks and Universal Studios. The condo is four miles east of St. Pete Beach, Ft. DeSoto Park, and the Gulf of Mexico. It's adjacent to a private marina and about a 1/4 mile from Tampa Bay and Maximo Park at the tip of the Pinellas peninsula. This area of St. Pete is called Pinellas Point because it's at the base of the Skyway Bridge which passes into the next county to the south. Major grocery stores, shops, gas stations/convenience stores are a 10 minute walk from the condo.
Other Things to Note
Free guest parking outside of the condo building is available for visitors with a car. You can also park for free on the street in front of the building.
No smokers, please. Clean kitchen and dishes after using them and keep the condo tidy. Be respectful of the residents who live here full-time which means no loud parties or noises after 11 p.m. The condos are not to be used for drunken parties. This is private property in which people live year-round so respectful, appropriate behavior is mandatory. Do not bring strangers or extra guests into the condo who have not been disclosed to me and airbnb prior to booking for security reasons. Please turn off lights and ceiling fans when you leave condo and turn up the AC to conserve electricity. Thank you!
About the Host, Maria
Hello, I'm Maria. I'm an optimistic, cheerful, flexible, easy-going, nice, helpful person who sees the good in things and prefers guests with the same attitude. Perfectionists who are impossible to please are not welcome in any of the 6 condos my company owns and manages in this building. I do not want people with negative energy and standards that are impossible to achieve to book here. My partner and I work very hard to give guests a friendly, memorable experience at reasonable, affordable prices. I've lived in St. Petersburg about 7 years and arrived at The Wave condos in early 2013 where I also live and have a shared 2/2 condo available. I love this unique building overlooking lush woods for a resort feel! It is a circa 1962 structure called The Wave of Brazilian art deco architecture which will get Historic Heritage designation one day from the city. As such, it's not brand new so if that's what you need to be happy, don't book here. The building has been well renovated with landscaping, fitness center, pool area, picnic area, and other amenities since the 2008 real estate bust with more improvements to come in 2016 and 2017, so please be patient as we restore it to its former glory as a gem along Tampa Bay. Well, more about me: I speak Hungarian and Slovakian pretty well but cannot write well in those languages. I grew up mainly in Michigan and later, lived and worked in Kuwait and Germany for several years. I've visited most of Europe and parts of Central and South America, Africa, and many Caribbean islands. In addition to traveling abroad, I enjoy meeting people from other nations and cultures. My hobbies are traveling, cycling, kayaking, hiking, being outdoors in beautiful nature, and spending time with close friends and of course, my dear pets. I live an interesting, happy life in beautiful St. Petersburg which I now call home. I look forward to meeting you!
