Interaction with Guests
Hi, I'm your host Maria! I'm very friendly with extensive overseas travel experiences, so I will assist as much as possible to make guests feel comfortable and give them a quality vacation. I was a European tour guide based in Germany for two years, but now I'm a high school teacher of English As A Foreign Language. Having been born in southern Slovakia, I still speak Hungarian and Slovakian pretty well in addition to English. Places I've visited include most of Europe, parts of Russia, East Africa, most of the Caribbean, and parts of Central and South Africa. More adventures are planned for the future! My hobbies include cycling, walking on the beach, learning new things, fitness and healthy living, my pets, spending time with friends, and traveling.
The Wave is in south St. Pete in an area called Pinellas Point because it's at the tip of the Pinellas peninsula, 1/4 mile from Tampa Bay and the Skyway Bridge. My condo is on the 4th floor and faces woods and palm trees for a secluded resort feeling! The Wave is minutes from I-275 highway for convenience to Tampa. It is close to parks, downtown, and Gulf of Mexico beaches.
Condo is a half mile from I-275, so it's very convenient access to get around St. Pete, Pinellas County, Tampa International Airport, and other parts of Tampa including Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium, and Adventure Island Water Park. The condo is about 90 miles from Orlando, so also very convenient to the Disney Theme Parks and Universal Studios. The condo is four miles east of St. Pete Beach, Ft. DeSoto Park, and the Gulf of Mexico. It's adjacent to a private marina and about a 1/4 mile from Tampa Bay and Maximo Park at the tip of the Pinellas peninsula. This area of St. Pete is called Pinellas Point because it's at the base of the Skyway Bridge which passes into the next county to the south. Major grocery stores, shops, gas stations/convenience stores are a 10 minute walk from the condo.
Other Things to Note
Free guest parking outside of the condo building is available for visitors with a car. You can also park for free on the street in front of the building.
No smokers, please. Clean kitchen and dishes after using them and keep the condo tidy. Thank you!
A short but great stay with Maria. She warmly accommodated my late arrival and departure. The room was cozy, clean, bright and is conveniently located.
Maria was very accommodating, starting with her quick response to our initial inquiry, which was actually the day of our stay. She was kind enough to let us share her living space, including all of the amenities. Although our stay was short it was pleasant and relaxing, thanks to the use of her beach gear! Maria was quite flexible with the check in and check out times as well.
Maria was a wonderful & accommodating host despite my very short stay & everything was just as she described it. The condo is very unique and awesome, in a beautiful location. Highly recommend!
We appreciated Maria's hospitality. She was very responsive, flexible, and generous with letting us use her space. The room was clean and we really appreciated being able to use her kitchen! For the most part we had the place to ourselves while she was at work, although she was at home a few evenings.
Maria was a great host. She provided me with a place to stay one last night in the St. Pete area on a spur of the moment notice less than 12 hrs before I wanted to check in. She was super informative about the area, and more than willing to help us find local eateries and breweries to enjoy our final night in Florida!
Maria was a perfect host. Her directions were clear and accurate. She welcomed me, and showed me around the property which was quite nice. Due to a family medical emergency, I had to cut my visit short which was a shame. I would have liked to have stayed longer.

Hi! I am a high school teacher of English As A Foreign Language. I also speak Hungarian and Slovakian quite well, having moved to the U.S. when I was nine. I grew up mainly in Michigan and later, lived and worked in Kuwait and Germany for several years. I've visited most of Europe and parts of Central and South America, Africa, and many Caribbean islands. In addition to traveling abroad, I enjoy meeting people from other nations and cultures. My hobbies are traveling, cycling, kayaking, hiking, and being outdoors in beautiful nature. I don't smoke, rarely drink, and try to live an interesting, happy life in beautiful St. Petersburg which I now call home. I look forward to meeting you!
