Interaction with Guests
I am at hand daily to help you with your vacation. I will supply you with maps, brochures and local knowledge. I also will tell about about the hidden gems of Galway known only to the locals!
My home is situated in the village of Salthill which has an array of coffee shops, restaurants and nightlife. The beautiful promenade runs to the oldest part of Galway, the Claddagh and from there to the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter of Galway.
The City offers a wonderful eclectic mix of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and shops. In addition it is a medieval city with numerous walking tours, theaters, art galleries and all that Galway as the cultural capital of Ireland has to offer. At the weekend it hosts a farmer's market in front of the medieval St. Nicholas Church where you can meet the locals and tourists, the famous and not so famous in search of artisan food, jewellery and crafts.
For those looking for a more rugged landscape, Galway is the gateway to Connemara, renouned for its wild, beautiful and romantic scenery. There are many bus tours to take you to Connemara and the Arran Islands so a car is not a necessity. The cliffs of Moher are another 'must' and the tour bus company will collect you at my home. From Dublin Airport/City a non stop bus will get you to Galway in under 3 hours.
Other Things to Note
I have off street parking available for you.
This is a non smoking home. However, you may sit outside in my beautiful back garden if you wish to smoke... on a wet day, the garden shed!
Please be respectful of other guests and my neighbours and keep noise at night time to a minimum.
Out of respect to my other guests and my family, please do not take showers after 11.00 at night as other people are sleeping!
Kathryn's house is a great place to stay, really close to the bus stop for the city centre. The room was big and clean. Recommended!
We stayed for 2 nights and had a great time at Kathryns place! She is very engaging and helped us with a lot of tips and documentation. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. From the house, it's an easy walk of about 20 minutes along the seaside to the town center. And our daughters loved Maude, the dog :-)
We had a great time with Kathryn at her beautiful house. From the time of booking, all communications were prompt and Kathryn was very helpful with tips and suggestions. My two girls also called this the best stay of our trip as they had a lovely time with the gorgeous dog. Cheers Kathryn. Highly recommended
Kathryn was a delightful hostess. She was extremely helpful to us in preparing our Galway visit and drive through Connemara. The house was just lovely (loved the artwork) and the breakfasts were delicious!
House is all it claims to be and then some. Kathryn is a very sweet lady and she will be useful for you during your time here with her wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend this place.
Kathryn was very flexible accommodating and friendly and sociBle. Even though we only stayed for one night she was great and found her very easy to talk to. She was great with our 5 year old and we loved her little dog.
