Interaction with Guests
I am at hand daily to help you with your vacation. I will supply you with maps, brochures and local knowledge. I also will tell about about the hidden gems of Galway known only to the locals!
My home is situated in the village of Salthill which has an array of coffee shops, restaurants and nightlife. The beautiful promenade runs to the oldest part of Galway, the Claddagh and from there to the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter of Galway.
The City offers a wonderful eclectic mix of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and shops. In addition it is a medieval city with numerous walking tours, theaters, art galleries and all that Galway as the cultural capital of Ireland has to offer. At the weekend it hosts a farmer's market in front of the medieval St. Nicholas Church where you can meet the locals and tourists, the famous and not so famous in search of artisan food, jewellery and crafts.
For those looking for a more rugged landscape, Galway is the gateway to Connemara, renouned for its wild, beautiful and romantic scenery. There are many bus tours to take you to Connemara and the Arran Islands so a car is not a necessity. The cliffs of Moher are another 'must' and the tour bus company will collect you at my home. From Dublin Airport/City a non stop bus will get you to Galway in under 3 hours.
Other Things to Note
I have off street parking available for you.
This is a non smoking home. However, you may sit outside in my beautiful back garden if you wish to smoke... on a wet day, the garden shed!
Please be respectful of other guests and my neighbours and keep noise at night time to a minimum.
Out of respect to my other guests and my family, please do not take showers after 11.00 at night as other people are sleeping!
Kathryn was terrific. She made us delicious breakfast and tea every morning, was very kind, and was a wealth of information. We came to Ireland with no plans at all and she helped us develop a day to day itinerary as well as providing us with maps and pamphlets. The walk to Galway is beautiful and her house is only a few feet from the local bus stop if you aren't down with walking. All in all a terrific experience.
Kathryn was a wonderful and accommodating host. We greatly appreciated her knowledge of the area, her recommendations, and the rooms themselves. She was very courteous and respectful of our space! Highly recommend Kathryn's B&B to anyone going to Galway!
Beautiful clean comfortable house very well located in a lovely neighborhood just a few minutes walk from the sandy beach of Salthill. Kathryn has been an excellent host, we've enjoyed her breakfast and having a chat with her very much, she's great, thanks for welcoming us Kathryn!
Merci Kathryn.
Kathryn is a very kind and helpful host. I spent one night at her place with 3 friends. The rooms we rent were spacious, tidy and clean. The place looks like in the pictures, if not better, and is located in a quiet neighborhood in Galway, 15 minutes by foot from the city centre/5 minutes by car. I definitely recommend it! I loved Katheryn's breakfast, too :-)
Kathryn invited us into our home even though she had to go to her daughter's graduation. Everything went off without a hitch. The room was very nice. Would recommend.
