A slice of funkiness in the middle of East Texas!
We met Rose for one night at the Smither Family B & B.
She showed us around the place and made sure we were comfortable. She also told us where to get ice cream in town.
The B & B is on the 2nd floor and very large! We felt like we were stepping back in time with all of the antiques and (email hidden)ere are many rooms here to stay in. We stayed in the Henderson Room which was a big room with two couches full of art and antiques. We slept in a Japanese type of bed that was very comfortable and ornate. Rose provided coffee and muffins/sweet rolls for our breakfast. It is too bad we couldn't have spent more time here as the place also has a library full of books with a sitting area. Right below the B & B is a bunch of antique stores that we would have enjoyed visiting. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
The Smither Family B&B has an extraordinary art collection, one could spend hours just discovering all the art and oddities. Rose got us set up efficiently and with little fuss. The location on the Square was very quaint and the amenities exemplary.
Very interesting B and B!! Staff friendly, made us feel very welcome, would recommend to a friend, enjoyed having the place to ourselves without having to interact with owners around breakfast as is the case with most B and B's, atmosphere much more comfortable than other B and B's I've experienced
I really enjoyed my stay at the Smither B & B. Julia was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again if I go to Huntsville.
The weekend here at the B&B was excellent. It was comfortable, beautiful, clean, great location and reasonably priced. The kitchen was excellent, thank you very much for the soy milk Julia. I have already posted it on (website hidden) and told all my friends about it !! Very relaxing, thought the windows not being covered would prevent me from sleeping in but I was able to sleep in, very comfortably. Thanks
What a unique and Inspiring space. I was very comfortable at Amanda's BnB. There is a great library (read some passages from Walden, since I had forgotten my book), private bathroom, a common area for dining and just being. The place was in a vibrant historic section of Huntsville that I had never seen before. Amanda and her husband were excellent hosts!
Great stay with a great family! Amanda was really nice and the breakfasts were fabulous. Right downtown on the courthouse square, can't be beat!
