The Smither Family B&B is a unique and fun room in an historic building off the square in Huntsville. The room looks exactly as pictured and the common areas are decorated with interesting art work, pictures of the Smither Family, and period books and games. I rented the room on a Sunday so my interactions with Rose were by phone only.
Rose was very welcoming and the place was cool, and much more interesting than a hotel. In addition it is a great location in the historic area close to just about everything. However, not recommended if you are a light sleeper or need to be up early in the morning, the hallway lights shine directly through the interior windows and the noise can be too much with visitors/guests walking around and talking in the hallways all night. Otherwise an amazing place to stay - The library is a nice touch, and the full kitchen is perfect for a longer stay.
Rose was very helpful with our AirBnB questions and the space was warm, country-unique and comfortable with a lot of interesting art and culture. The location was fabulous - on the town square with adorable shops and restaurants nearby - and we will be staying there again.
I can't say enough nice things about Rose Martin. She was prompt, informative, personable, accommodating and made my visit to the Smither Family B&B such a pleasure. B&B is on the square directly across from the courthouse on the 2nd floor. Wonderful antique shops, candy shop, etc. below. A single glass door entrance will take you up to the B&B location. Parking is a bit of a hassle but manageable. The B&B was quite large, with 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, dining room, small library & kitchen. And the original safe served as a pantry! The extensive art collection was wonderful, filling every nook & cranny. Clean enough to call it comfortable, dusty enough to call it home. Thanks Rose for the wonderful stay & all your hospitality. I certainly plan to make it back.
We met Rose for one night at the Smither Family B & B.
She showed us around the place and made sure we were comfortable. She also told us where to get ice cream in town.
The B & B is on the 2nd floor and very large! We felt like we were stepping back in time with all of the antiques and (email hidden)ere are many rooms here to stay in. We stayed in the Henderson Room which was a big room with two couches full of art and antiques. We slept in a Japanese type of bed that was very comfortable and ornate. Rose provided coffee and muffins/sweet rolls for our breakfast. It is too bad we couldn't have spent more time here as the place also has a library full of books with a sitting area. Right below the B & B is a bunch of antique stores that we would have enjoyed visiting. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
