Located in one of Brooklyn's primo hipster neighborhoods, my large one bedroom apartment is located a few blocks from the express J train, approximately 15 min from Manhattan's Lower East Side. The apartment building is brand new with an elevator and very large finished roof deck with great views of Manhattan. I live on the 6th floor, not quite the penthouse but pretty darn close! The glass doors in the living room open up to a full sized balcony with nice views of Brooklyn. There are a couple lawn chairs and a small bbq if you feel like barbecuing. I don't mind smokers as long as you do it outside on the balcony. The bedroom has a queen bed with comfy brand new tempurpedic memory foam mattress. I can also accommodate two more in the large living room. I have a brand new Beauty-rest riser queen sized air mattress. It's really nice and extra sturdy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal including dishes, pans, utensils, microwave, electric kettle and french press. There is also a dishwasher so no need to scrub the dishes while you're on vacation! The bathroom is clean and has a deep jaccuzzi bathtub, if you feel like a soak. I usually have some travel sized shampoo and soap if you forget to bring your own. And plenty of towels, so no need to pack those. The living room comes with flat screen tv, dvd player and streaming Netflix, along with other streaming channels you're free to use. The apartment has wifi so you can stay connected. The neighborhood is safe and I am very close to the the J train, just two stops from Manhattan's Lower East Side. There is also a bus right on the corner that will take you to Williamsburg, it is the no.47. In my neighborhood there are: eateries, grocery stores, laundromats, vintage and new clothing stores and two pretty hip bars just around the corner if you don't feel like venturing far. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
You're free to use all of the dishes, pans, sheets and towels. Personal items such as; clothes, decor, etc... are not for use by guests.
Interaction with Guests
The whole apartment is for rent. I will not be with you in the apartment.
It's close to Manhattan by train and neighborhood is diverse. True, there are a lot of hipsters that live here, but the community has blended well with the folks that have been here for years. The subway is elevated near my apartment and you can see it in the distance when you look out the balcony. It's kind of romantic. Plenty of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, laundry--pretty much anything you need can be found nearby, but that's New York for ya!
Access to the J and M train. J train is express and is a 15 minute ride to the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Other Things to Note
I do have a short-haired dog, so if you are allergic, it's best you probably do not stay here. The dog will not be in the apartment.
No parties!!!! Only registered guests may be in the apartment.
Please take shoes off when in apartment.
Always keep front door double locked. This is NYC and single locks can easily be picked by criminals. Also, please keep safety bar in balcony door when not in use.
Please no parties, or friends. The apartment is for your use only and additional guests are prohibited.
Please no smoking inside the apartment. You can smoke on the balcony, but please dispose of cigarette butts in provided receptacle. DO NOT PUT CIGARETTE BUTTS OUT IN PLANTS.
Please leave apartment tidy after your stay. Dispose of all trash, or items you do not want to take with you. Please do not leave cans, bottles, etc...on balcony or roof deck. I'll take care of general cleaning after your stay, but remember this is not a hotel, it is my home, so please treat it with respect.
We stayed in Tracy's apartment for 6 nights. The apartment is great! Very spacious, comfortable bed and excellent wi fi. When we first got to the area we were a bit uncomfortable with the look and feel of it. But please don't let that put you off! The area is fine, it just took a day or so to get used to. The subway will take you to Manhattan in about 20-30 minutes. Cabs from Manhattan to the apartment were about $20. Tracy responded to our queries very quickly and gave us lots of info about the area. We would definitely recommend booking this apartment!
The pictures don't do the apartment justice at all. Beautiful apartment with a balcony and rooftop access that provides a view that truly is epic. Will most certainly come back to this apartment if I return!
We enjoyed our stay at Tracy's place. The place is clean, comfortable and most importantly near the subway (easy ride to Manhattan once you figure out how the subway system works).
I loved staying in Tracy's apartment. It is a real home away from home. Clean tidy and good style. Was just what I needed. It is an easy ride into Manhattan if that is where you want to go. Otherwise there is a lot of great stuff in Brooklyn. Fab juice and grocers shop near Myrtle st station! Tracy was great and contactable. Would definitely want to hang here again. Thanks Tracy
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Tracy is a wonderful host. She could be accessed both before and during the stay. Three days before the trip, I had a change in travel plans which she was gracious enough to accomodate.
Her ad was as described with accurate pictures and a clean environment.
I always appreciate my rest when traveling. The bed has a solid foam mattress that brought back many happy dreams.
I didn't have a driver or limo, so the subway system was my main mode of transportation. Tracy's apartment is near the Broadway-Myrtle station which is the junction of four main lines (G,M,J,Z). It is an easy ride to the apartment from JFK through Jamaica station on the J or Z line.
During my stay, I was uncertain about which line to take on several occassions. The NYC MTA can be accessed via (website hidden) maps, which will plan your route for you. Its not foolproof, can be frustrating reading a dark screen and time consuming. Sometimes it was easier to ask a New Yorker for directions.
I've often found it difficult to find good quality produce in many large cities. Mr. Kiwi is at the Broadway-Myrtle station and offers a great variety of fresh produce. This was perfect for breakfast or snack treats during the day. There is an abundance of economical good quality restaurants within 15 minutes of the apartment.
I would stay at Tracy's on any occassion. She's accomodating and provides an honest description of her apartment.

Hi! My name is Tracy. I've lived in NYC for 10 years and love it! I love to travel and have used airbnb myself. I think it's so much better than a hotel. You really get a sense of what it's like to live in that city. My place is available on a limited basis, but I will let you know right away whether or not i can host you. Thanks for considering my apartment. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
