The Space

It is a converted loft-style mews in the courtyard of a period house and provides all the comforts of a home.
It is extremely private but within easy walking distance to the village which has pubs, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, a fuel station, a hotel,an art gallery and a craft shop.

Cable TV and WIFI internet access is provided for the convenience of guests.

Sleeping accommodation is in two double rooms with an additional single settee-bed in the sitting area. A wood-burning stove here gives a really cosy atmosphere with background central heating.

The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with an electric oven and gas hobs, a fridge, a deep freeze and a dishwasher.

A large dining table adds to the comfort of meals.

Guest Access

There is private access to the mews which is self contained. Guests are welcome to enjoy the spacious garden and patio area.

The Neighborhood

Slane has several lively pubs,a hotel, restaurants, supermarkets,a fuel station,a craft shop and an art gallery.

The village is an elegant 18th century, hillside estate village situated on the River Boyne. It is an ancient and historic place with fine examples of Georgian architecture. It boasts a long and interesting history which is excellently profiled in the "Slane Historic Trail." There is a wealth of historic sites and visitors can follow each of the 17 points, commencing at the Slane Cottages, to learn more about the village.

Slane is an excellent centre for visiting the numerous other archaeological sites in the area.
In particular are:

SLANE CASTLE - with tours being available during summer.

The passage tombs of NEWGRANGE, KNOWTH and DOWTH with a 15 minute drive to the superb visitors centre where visits to the tombs can be arranged. These massive structures were built around 3,200 years B.C. and were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993

The site of the BATTLE OF THE BOYNE with an impressive visitors centre is at Oldbridge, a few kilometres east of Newgrange. The battle, in July 1690, was the largest ever assembly of troops on an Irish battlefield


Getting Around

There are several bus stops in the village. Buses to central Dublin(about 1 hour), Navan, Drogheda and Monaghan.
