The space
HOW IT WORKS
Guava House, main villa has 3 bedrooms. Rates vary depending on how many rooms will be used. It is always let out on exclusive use, full villa basis.

This rate includes housekeeping and service from Jeyanthy, the housekeeper/cook. The whole retreat can accommodate 5 comfortably. There are 3 bedrooms in the main house. An open mezzanine area can be used for yoga, or other activies, there is a day bed and desk. Additionally we have 2 separate chalets which are also listed on Airbnb. If you are a group of 9, please send us an inquiry and we will assist you with the booking.

We also have another small cottage sleeping 4, (on the estate) ideal for a couple of friends or a family with children (above 5 years old). If you are a bigger party, and would like to book both houses, please see our other listing "Gate House on a rubber tree estate".

Occasional power outages may occur due to local electricity supply issues, though they usually last only a few hours. Wi-Fi is provided for essential use but is not suitable for large downloads or streaming.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat and are comfortable with these aspects, Guava House will be a perfect fit for your group.

Guest access
The house comes with all the luxuries, hot water showers, huge comfortable 4 poster beds, freshly laundered towels, and an infinity swimming pool for refreshing swims. For the more active there are 4 mountain bikes on which you can explore the village area, or simply stroll through the paddy fields and along the river or climb up through a wooded glen for more spectacular views. Bible rock is around 5kms away and a challenge to climb for the more adventurous.

Other things to note
Guava House is family home which has been designed and built by the owner architect, to blend in and compliment the surrounding nature outside, the roof is thatched in “iluk” (a Sri Lankan reed) and the floors and walls are mango wood and teak.

We have a Wi Fi connection, however it is not unlimited. It is sufficient for sending emails and limited internet use. The Wi Fi connection throughout the country can be intermittent.

In the early morning around 5.30am you may hear the local mosque call the prayer and at 6am the Buddhist temple chanting. Ear plugs can be useful if you are a light sleeper.

In this tropical rural area there are an array of wild insects, including mosquitoes, butterflies, beetles etc. Remember to bring mosquito repellent. However we provide mosquito nets on all the beds.
During rainy periods, it is likely that you will encounter leeches in the land around the house and chalets. They are harmless, but if bitten by one you may feel a slight itch for a few days. In the house we have a list of tips for avoiding them!
