★Check in/Check out★ Flexible except when there are guests arriving and departing on the same day and ample time needs to be allowed between guests for cleaning. I am almost always able to accommodate travel schedules.
★Note on total cost and payment★
I am often asked what the total cost will be. When you make an inquiry, airbnb calculates the total price for you including any extras, such as fees, based on your travel dates and the amount of people you are traveling with. Airbnb charges guests a booking fee that varies in percentage and I have no information about how they determine it so I cannot give you an accurate total cost.
★ Please rely on the total cost that the website automatically calculates for you. ★
Airbnb handles all payments and once you make a reservation, they hold the money and do not release it to hosts until a day after the guest arrives. The nightly rate for the loft can vary by season, demand and availability and is shown in the calendar.
★GETTING INTO THE LOFT★
Guest are always met at the loft either by myself or a friend upon arrival and given a tour and keys. I always send a very detailed email a few days before arrival with directions and everything you will need to make your stay at the loft a wonderful experience!
★★★The cancellations were due to now completed building maintenance★★★
The apartment is very centrally located, in the East Village, steps from Tompkins square park, a 5 minute walk to Houston Street where you can catch the F or M train, (there is also a huge Whole Foods here), a 10 minute walk to Astor place where there are even more subways, and 10 minutes to SoHo. I love walking everywhere, but if you don't, there is a bus (M14) that has a stop right across the street that arrives every 5 or so minutes during the day.. You can take this bus to the West side and check out the West Village and the Meatpacking District and the popular High Line Park. This bus also takes you to Union Square Park which is always bustling with activity. At Union Square you can get a transfer to several major subway lines (L, N Q, R , 4, 5, 6). When you are exhausted and want to return to the loft, the bus will literally drop you off right in front of the door! It doesn't get more convenient than that! Of course if you prefer you can easily catch a cab in front of the loft for door to door service.
This loft has been my home for almost 20 years and I am so happy to share it with guests who appreciate and respect it.
★ The most important thing is to treat the loft the same way you would treat a friend’s home that you are visiting★
Please be respectful of my neighbors. I never hear them and they never hear me and I would like to keep it that way.
It is a boutique building so the exterior hallways are not that large so please try to be mindful of that when entering and leaving the loft.
No shoes permitted indoors. Absolutely no smoking in the loft
Only guests included in your confirmed reservation are permitted to be in the loft and absolutely no parties. Anything that deviates from this rule should be stated when you make your reservation. If all travelers are not arriving and/or leaving together, please make sure I am aware of the different itineraries.
Complete names and ages of all guests is required
The person making the reservation is considered the responsible party and must be present for check in. If this is not possible, please let me know the details before you make a reservation.
Please provide me with your flight information as soon as you know it so your check in and check out go as smoothly as possible. I do my best to accommodate the travel schedules of all guests. Any changes to check in/check out schedules must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.
The security deposit is a hold by Airbnb against your payment method 48 hours before your trip and it is released 48 hours after you depart. If you break a glass or drop a plate or something rips , this does not mean you wont get your security deposit back. So if something minor breaks, please tell me so I can be sure that if something needs to be repaired or replaced, it can be done before the next guest arrives.
Have a great time, be respectful and enjoy your stay!

Really wonderful apartment. Located in one of the best zones of (email hidden)ni explain us everything really good about the house and neighborhood and our stay was really comfortable. I recommend this house to everybody that wants to stay in Manhattan.
What an amazing base for our week long stay in New York! The apartment is fantastic with the massive arched windows and loft style design. The place is very spacious and clean and surprisingly quiet for New York. Toni was an excellent host and provided us with everything we needed and responded promptly to any queries we had. The surrounding village is very cool with lots of trendy bars, delicious restaurants and cafes nearby. We had a list of recommendations for our time in New York but ended up just trying out the local places which were amazing!! We walked to most tourist attractions but the subway and taxis are good too if you tire yourself out. Would highly recommend staying here.
This is my first Airbnb experience and Toni made it a very easy one. She was very prompt in her initial response and checked in with us before, during and after our stay. Toni's housekeeper met us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know and was exactly on time when we were scheduled to leave. Toni was also able to allow us a late check out which was very handy with a early evening flight.
What you see in the pictures is what you get with the Glass Loft. It is exactly how it is represented. There is lots of light and open space in the main area and the place was generally well cleaned and equipped. The roof top view is something that is definitely not promoted heavily enough though, it is AMAZING and well worth some extra ticks for the property. The area the apartment is in is great, with lots of places to eat and cute bars everywhere you turn. The street the loft is in initially seems a little dodgy, but it really isn't and there is a great juice bar just at the entrance to the apartment which also has good coffee, we frequented there daily. There are also a number of supermarkets within close walking distance, including a Wholefoods market which my husband and I love after a previous stay in Washington DC (we don't really have places like that in Australia!). There were lots of extra towels and bed linen available as well if you were staying for a longer period. The kitchen was well equipped and the wifi was also very reliable if that is important for you.
There were a couple of small negatives that were particular to us and may be dependent on who you travel with. Although there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of the bedrooms overlooks the main sitting area and if the person in that area is asleep it is difficult to sit in the main area without disturbing them. This was particular to us as we were travelling with my mother who liked to go to bed early which meant not being able to watch TV or sit on the couch and have a chat without disturbing her. There is a TV in the main bedroom though. We also had some warm weather while staying and the bedrooms were quite hot, particularly at night, even with the aircon on. This didn't bother me too much but my husband is quite temperature sensitive. Both bedrooms are also quite dark.
Overall though we would definitely recommend the Glass Loft mostly because of the area and the ease of stay facilitated by the host!
Toni was wonderful ~ easy to get in touch with and was gracious about accommodating my arrival & departure schedule. The neighborhood is great (especially if you're vegetarian/vegan) ~ so many delicious eateries within walking distance! The loft was lovely and spacious as described, and we felt right at home. There was plenty of extra pillows, clean linens/towels, eye masks for sleeping, a stovetop tea kettle (my personal favorite perk), etc.
My only complaint would be the beds. While being previously described as new in 2013, the beds were less than optimal/comfortable. The spring mattresses in both rooms felt like they had lived their life. The second bedroom mattress was slightly sunken in on one side. I usually just accept things as they are when nothing can be done about it in the moment, and it was fine for the week, but it would be a factor in considering whether to stay there in the future. Toni seems to go out of her way to accommodate her guests, so I have no doubt this issue would be given sincere consideration. My sister and I would LOVE to stay there next time we're in the city, if something was to be done about the comfort of the mattresses. The location is perfect to where we spend most of our time in the city and the loft itself is wonderful!
Toni was a great host, she was on top of communications prior, during and post stay. We had a few delays when arriving in NY and Toni was always available for contact ensuring we were kept up to date with changing check in plans.
The apartment was great, just as it looks on the pictures. The double height living room was such a bonus in NY where apartments are generally quite cramped. The flat has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two real beds which is a bonus. As a party of 4 (2 couples) the place was perfect.
The neighborhood was great in the East Village, loads of great bars and places to eat. It's a real cutting edge place compared to other areas and gives a real perspective of NY living.
Given the chance I would happily stay in the apartment again.
We were 7 woman, who lived in the apartment for five days and nights. We didn't see Toni, but we get in touch with her by email. Everything was as expected. The beds exept one were a little to soft, but it was clean and Toni was aleays available by email for questions. The neighbours unfortunately are not amused that she rent the apartment, but we didn't have troubles at all. Thank you Toni for an unforgetable stay with you.

I have lived in many neighborhoods in Manhattan, including Tribeca, the West Village, the Upper East Side and Upper West Side and find they don't compare to the vibrant charm of the East Village
