Amazing value for money. It might be shabby chic but it is a big apartment and very comfortable. It's in a good location, easy to get to the main square and San Telmo. The porter Guilliermo is very helpful, although our terrible grip of Spanish did get in the way, nothing that couldn't be sorted with (website hidden) translate.
We would stay here again, thanks Brooke.
wonderful apt to stay in BA. everything as pictured. i stayed a week and all was just as expected. would definitely recommend!location. layout of apt with furnishings & pictures & elevator from different era i found enjoyable,
Spectactular apartment. It is big, clean and full of great art and beautiful old furniture. The location was perfect for exploring Buenos Aires for the first time and the housekeeper Guillermo was very kind and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.
The description does not do this stunning place justice. Full of incredible details, this place is a delight to call home for your stay.
The antique furniture, mixed with the modern portraiture give the place a wonderfully jaunty and unique personality.
The apartment is quiet, shielded from most street noise, though you can hear activity in the hallways.
The location - right at the beginning of the artsy / antiquey / slightly sketchy San Telmo neighborhood, and very close to Plaza de Mayo.
Guillermo the Portero is a huge help, and made us feel more secure and welcome.
The neighborhood can be sketchy, particularly at night. Exercise precautions.
Expect some fragility with the Infrastructure in Buenos Aires: Keep your eyes on the ground: Broken sidewalks, debris and potholes make walking an obstacle course. Wear shoes that are stable.
On the same note, we had some plumbing snafus- water faucet wouldn't turn off (we used the main in the bathroom to turn it off and on.) Guillermo tried to fix it, but had to call in a plumber. No big deal, but stuff like this might happen more here than some people from out of Argentina are used to.
Some of the chairs have shredded upholstery, but the rest of the apartment is completely sumptuous.
The second bedroom is a curtained off alcove off of the living room. Charmingly set up actually.
We loved it, and felt very welcome and comfortable there. Thank you so much, Brooke, for a lovely introduction to Buenos Aires. We cannot wait to come back!
Such a nice, welcoming home, and close to everything. Brooke was very responsive, and Guillermo was so nice and helpful. I would definitely stay at Brooke's place again when I visit Buenos Aires in the future.
Excellent silent (not fronting the noisy street) old apartment with modern paintings in the middle of everything in San Telmo only two blocks from Casa Rosada and Calle Florida. Mr Guillermo and his wife , responsible of the daily control of the apartment and living in the building, organises everything you need, be it exchanging money or taking care of your laundry.
The wifi is good, Guillermo and his wife were super helpful, and Brooke was very responsive. The location was excellent, just a couple blocks from many of the main sights and in an active (and seemingly quite safe) neighborhood.
The apartment itself is actually a bit worn (e.g. peeling paint and stuffing coming out of the chairs), though it still had a nice old atmosphere overall.
Note: The second bedroom is only an alcove in the living room with a curtain to separate it off.
Great apartment, very clean and comfortable!!! Super location! I absolutly recomend for all people who visit Buenos!
Excellent experience overall - definitely a place to keep on your radar screen for your next visit to Buenos Aires! Great location, beautiful apartment with period furniture, plenty of crockery and kitchenware, the porter, Guillermo, very friendly and efficient.
This apartment is located perfectly and ideal for staying two couples or a gang of close friends (how don't bother sharing a king sized bed). Had some problems with the water, which Guillermo fixed perfectly. Would gladly come back!
