Interaction with Guests
Guillermo and Teresa manage the apartment as well as the apartment building and live downstairs. They are available at all times for any needs or issues. I am available through email and respond very promptly.
The apartment is on the first block on defensa. This is the street where the famous weekly Sunday art fair is located. It's also the street where all the tango clubs, art galleries, and funky restaurants. It is a very safe part of Buenos Aires and to be more centrally located would be nearly impossible.
Besides just walking the length of defensa where all the best artist stores and tango clubs are or walking 5 blocks to puetro Madero.Tthere is a multitude of other options for sight seeing. The apartment is 1.5 blocks from the main subway line of the city. which in on the playa de mayo. Also there is a huge subway line on Florida that connects to all the other lines and will take you to Retiro which is where you can catch a train to outside the city if you like.
The bus or Collectivo main stop is 2 blocks away on both playa de mayo and 1 block from one of the largest bus stops in the city on Av Paseo Colon. Plus you will definitely not have a problem finding a taxi they are everywhere.
Other Things to Note
Includes WiFi, Apartment Security and Manager 24hrs a day on bottom Floor, Washing Machine and Dryer, fully equipped kitchen, Balcony, lots of hot water, very comfortable queen sized beds, Cable tv, of course all bedding.
When you arrive in the airport I recommend speaking to the taxi driver and discuss a price before you get in the taxi because the taxi drivers are notorious for charging far too much if you don't agree on a price before you get in the taxi. A fair price from EZE is more or less $35 USD. Once you get to the apartment just ring the portero button on the building and Guillermo will be there to greet you.
If you are there for more than 8 nights Teresa will come and clean the apartment. Just arrange a day and time that is good for you with Guillermo and he will take care of it.
If anything breaks Guillermo is the person to tell. He is fabulous at all of that. For trash pick up just leave it outside the door of the apartment it will be picked up.
This apartment has a lot of original art and antiques. We love children however it is not equipped with cribs toys or furniture meant for children. Also it is an apartment with two beds. We welcome four people who do not mind sharing two beds. If you show up with five or more adults and you made a reservation for four adults Your reservation will be cancelled and deposit not refunded. This is not under any circumstances a hostel. We do not have extra beds. If you have any other questions let myself or Guillermo know. We are here to help you have the very best experience possible.
El apartamento es muy bueno. Cocina, terraza, comedor. Tiene todo lo necesario y muy bien ubicado. Yo lo recomendaría.
Lo único negativo es la segunda pieza que está separada del living sólo por una cortina.
My sister and her friends were extremely happy with the apartment which was beautifully decorated. Brooke through her team in Buenos Aires was very supportive and attentive. Two of the people staying there were artists and loved the flair with which the place had bee decorated. Super central to colourful San Telmo. The only drawback was the small lift for my sisters wheelchair, which proved difficult and they managed by being creative.
I would absolutely recommend this place and hope to go and stay there myself when I next go to Buenos Aires.
When a small problem with water leaks happened it was resolved straight away and Brooke credited us with some money back which was lovely.
Lovely apartment in an old building. Really enjoyed the artwork and the location. Residents are very friendly. Great Sunday market right outside in Defensia avenue. Be sure to visit Last Poecia in Chile street - turn right and it is one block on the left corner.
We never met our host, however the porter, Guillermo was very nice and very welcoming! The apartment was almost like we were expecting although the pictures on this profile do not do the apartment justice. The artwork was very eccentric and and eclectic and very much in your face, which wasn't to our personal taste. There are things that need to be updating, e.g. glassware and crockery! The neighbourhood is brilliant, the central location (Casa rosada 200m away) but we especially loved the Sunday market right outside the apartment.
I appreciate your feedback. The art is definitely different however it's a very famous artist from Argentina and is shown in the photographs. People keep taking our nice pots and pans so we have normal not fancy stuff but I always make sure what we have is useful and practical.
We loved our stay at this apartment. It is very centrally located with easy access to subways, markets, bars, restaurants, and the sights. The apartment is beautiful and very well put together and was very comfortable for our stay. Overall this was a great find and we would definitely stay here again the next time we come to Buenos Aires.
We really enjoyed our stay here for ten days. Great location close to many areas of interest. Brooke answered our questions with a very fast response time. Guillermo the portero and his wife Theresita were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The building and apartment itself is aesthically pleasing. Elevator works well as the unit is on the second floor. Kitchen has everything needed for home cooking which we took advantage of. Contrary to a previous review there is NO mould on the walls or in the fridge.
