Interaction with Guests
Guillermo and Teresa manage the apartment as well as the apartment building and live downstairs. Teresa cleans the apartment before and after each guest checks in and out. Please be aware that there are sometimes quick turn arounds and if you need something extra done please let Teresa know and she have it done right away. Guillermo is in charge of the entire building and is happy to fix anything that needs to be fixed. It is an antique apartment and sometimes things need to be fixed that Guillermo or myself weren't made aware of. They are available at all times for any needs or issues. I am available through email and respond very promptly.
The apartment is on the first block on defensa. This is the street where the famous weekly Sunday art fair is located. It's also the street where all the tango clubs, art galleries, and funky restaurants. It is a very safe part of Buenos Aires and to be more centrally located would be nearly impossible.
Besides just walking the length of defensa where all the best artist stores and tango clubs are or walking 5 blocks to puetro Madero.Tthere is a multitude of other options for sight seeing. The apartment is 1.5 blocks from the main subway line of the city. which in on the playa de mayo. Also there is a huge subway line on Florida that connects to all the other lines and will take you to Retiro which is where you can catch a train to outside the city if you like.
The bus or Collectivo main stop is 2 blocks away on both playa de mayo and 1 block from one of the largest bus stops in the city on Av Paseo Colon. Plus you will definitely not have a problem finding a taxi they are everywhere.
Other Things to Note
Includes WiFi, Apartment Security and Manager 24hrs a day on bottom Floor, Washing Machine and Dryer, fully equipped kitchen, Balcony, lots of hot water, very comfortable queen sized beds, Cable tv, of course all bedding.
When you arrive in the airport I recommend speaking to the taxi driver and discuss a price before you get in the taxi because the taxi drivers are notorious for charging far too much if you don't agree on a price before you get in the taxi. A fair price from EZE is more or less $35 USD. Once you get to the apartment just ring the portero button on the building and Guillermo will be there to greet you.
If you are there for more than 8 nights Teresa will come and clean the apartment. Just arrange a day and time that is good for you with Guillermo and he will take care of it.
If anything breaks Guillermo is the person to tell. He is fabulous at all of that. For trash pick up just leave it outside the door of the apartment it will be picked up.
This apartment has a lot of original art and antiques. We love children however it is not equipped with cribs toys or furniture meant for children. Also it is an apartment with two beds. We welcome four people who do not mind sharing two beds. If you show up with five or more adults and you made a reservation for four adults Your reservation will be cancelled and deposit not refunded. This is not under any circumstances a hostel. We do not have extra beds.
Please keep the windows and doors closed during humid months or rainy days. There are mosquitos that can get into the house if you leave the doors and windows open. There is an air conditioning you are welcome to turn on rather then leaving the everything open to the elements. I am responsible for making sure there are no mosquitos or bugs in the house when you arrive. I am not responsible for purchasing repellent and bug spray if you insist of leaving everything open.
I live in Florida and am happy to help out as much as I can but Guillermo and Teresa live downstairs and are the apartment managers in my absence. If you need extra towels, keys, help with the dishwasher, something looked at in the apartment please don't hesitate to walk downstairs and knock on their door. They are super sweet.
If you are staying for more then 8 days I do offer for Teresa to come and clean the apartment. Please get with Teresa and figure out a day that works for you and her. She lives downstairs and is easy to get ahold of and super sweet.
This is a very very old building with antique furniture, original art, architectural elements, floors, and design. Teresa cleans the apartment constantly but being that everything is very very, old dust sometimes settles in between the parque floors or in old nooks and crannies of old picture frames. If you generally find yourself with allergies when you are in very old homes please consider staying in a brand new place rather then mine.
I will leap through hoops for any customer that is kind enough to stay in my apartment and I lived there for 2 years so I know the area very well. The apartment is in one of the most highly sought after locations in the city and is extremely convenient. If you would like any recommendations I am more then happy to offer any information I have. That being said if you do not communicate with me or Guillermo an issue I can not help as I can not read minds. I would also like to point out that this is in an amazing location and a beautiful apartment but I am not the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons so if you are looking for a personal concierge, driver and daily maid service I would highly recommend calling them. they are $300+ a night and are fabulous.
Please forgive all my tongue and cheek rules but I have been asked the most crazy requests imaginable and I'm just trying to have people that appreciate staying in a unique, beautiful, clean, apartment in a fabulous location for the best price in the area. Nothing more nothing less. Thank you very much
