Convenient, super quiet, beautiful Sutton Place (Mid town East) neighborhood close to subways and delicious restaurants walking distance to parks, cinemas, theatre and great shopping. One floor walk up, cozy, furnished one-bedroom facing courtyard on tree lined block. California King bed, a/c, not overly heated as most NY apartments are stifling, WiFI internet accessibility with password (given upon check in), TV use possible in other room, but full use of kitchen and bathroom....pull out couch in living room for overnight guest if you'd like. Perfect for one person with occasional guest....Your pick of dates - open ended schedule of availability.
No pets, no smoking, no loud noise.
Staying at Catherine's home was wonderful - Perfect location, safe and very convenient to have a trip around Manhattan; clean room with everything I needed; very smooth check-in. And best of all, Catherine is nice, considerate, and helpful. She provided many interesting recommendations, and we enjoyed some really great music at night. Overall it was an awesome experience.
Catherine was a lovely host, complete with a welcome pack and great advice about how to get to the apartment.
She is a live-in host, however gave me plenty of space.
The apartment is small but the bedroom is large and comfortable.
The neighborhood is quiet and felt safe with an excellent variety of restaurants very nearby. A subway station is close.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Best ever... Cat made me feel part of the family which is just vacationing with her. Everything is great!!! Love to visit her next time...
Catherine was a lovely hostess who was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Her apartment is very homey and comfortable and is in a very nice, safe quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend staying with her.
Being easy to talk to and a person open to all cultures, Catherine was a courteous, friendly and chatty host who was always happy to give advice about sights to see in NYC. She made sure the bedroom was clean and prepared for the arrival of my boyfriend and I, and she made us feel very welcomed.
Being a busy person, Catherine was considerably late to check-in despite having been informed what time we would arrive; however, reading other reviews it appears as though this was an isolated incident especially given it was the day before Thanksgiving.
Catherine provided full use of her facilities with the only request to not make a lot of noise late at night as she was working on weekdays. Options to cook and/or eat in are limited as the kitchen area is small, and the apartment itself was very cluttered and in areas, uncleanly. Additionally, there was no where in the bathroom to place your items while you shower or brush your teeth. With that said, the general cluttered and sullied nature of the space was the only downside of the accommodation.
We most enjoyed the location. It was safe, we were very close to Lexington Ave Subway which gave us easy access to the rest of Manhattan and there were endless choices of great restaurants (We had a memorable night at Tomi Jazz down the road; try the Lychee Sorbet!).
In summation, the apartment is very cluttered and in areas, not very clean but Catherine is a fantastic and friendly host and it's a good and safe location.
Catherine was a great host - very friendly and accommodating. In fact, she was very busy so she wasn't in the apartment most of the time.
The apartment itself is cozy, the guest has a bedroom for him\herself, and the bathroom has a shower and bath (hot water is great). If you plan on doing a lot of cooking by yourself take into account that the kitchen is small.
The building is quite close to the subway, and there's a pretty good diner right around the corner.
Warm and easygoing with a passion for New York and all it has to offer. I enjoy people and am extremely loyal and trustworthy. My husband is in Italy for a year or so working, so I have the freedom to offer my apartment up....it's my pleasure to host people and have the company at the same time. I don't like living alone I'm finding!
