The House is perfect in every way!
The location is lovely, the house is spacious and well maintained with all the comforts. It is on top of a hill, in a very picturesque location.
Fredrico was very hospitable and easily approachable as he lives on the same estate.
You definitely need to have a car to access this place, also as the grocery stores and the main city are a few kms away.
We enjoyed our 5 day stay and would highly recommend it!
We were a group of 4 adults from Australia wanting to explore Tuscany. Tomaso was very easy to arrange with and replied very promptly. The house is amazing. Super clean, almost new inside (but in true Tuscan style) with all the amenities and space you could want. Frederico welcomed us and was available if we had any questions. The farmhouse is in a small village about 20 minutes outside Florence and from here we explored by car to Pisa, Cinque Terra, Saturnia, Florence and Venice. No trip was more than 2.5 hours each way. There is a lovely restaurant and bar at the end of the road and more facilities just minutes away. Very relaxing location with stunning views but just moments driving from anything you need. You could not stay here without a car. The house is secure and there are even security gates to the property. We would give our stay 10/10. Thank you Tomaso and Federico.
Macia Farmhouse was the perfect place for our group of 5 adults. The pictures were very accurate and it was bigger than we expected. Clean and nicely furnished. The location was perfect for exploring Florence (an easy train ride) plus driving through Tuscany (Sienna, Lucca, Pisa, etc). Tomaso was very responsive throughout our time and Frederico welcomed us and was very available.
We really enjoyed our 4 days in Macia: the house is large, very well appointed and in a lovely quiet location overlooking the valley. This is a great place to explore northern Tuscany and Florence if like you you do not want to stay in the city.
We very much appreciated our stay at Tomaso and Federico's cottage. Correspondance leading to our trip was flawless and we have been welcomed by Federico despite our late arrival time. The cottage is located on a large olive plantation that has a large of charm and provides will all the comfort and cleanliness expected. Geographically speaking, it seats in a great location to enjoy the best of Tuscany. We recommend it without hesitating!
