We had a lovely stay at Stefano's. I only stayed for one night but I wished I had stayed longer. The place is right in the very centre of Assisi making it the perfect location, Stefano have really clear and easy instructions. He was really helpful in advising us on what to see and how to get there. The room itself was really nice, it was clean and tidy and our room had a beautiful view. We also went to his restaurant which was lovely as well and served a great variety of traditional Umbrian dishes as well as other Italian dishes. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Stefano is an excellent host. He runs two small guest houses, La Pallotta and La Fortezza, as well as a popular restaurant (La Pallotta). We actually stayed in La Fortezza, which has a lovely roof-top terrace overlooking Assisi. We enjoyed meeting fellow-guests from Denmark and England while enjoying a sumptuous continental breakfast! Both guesthouses (and the restaurant) are located right off the main town square. Our room was small but clean and reasonably comfortable. American guests, be aware that the bath towels are large and thin, more like our table linens, but they work fine and dry quickly. Part of the adventure of travel! La Fortezza would be difficult for a traveler unable to walk up and down stairs easily. There were many steps just to reach the guesthouse, and also several flights to get to breakfast. Fortunately, it was not a problem for us and I would highly recommend La Fortezza and the hospitality of Stefano and his family.
Perfect! Immaculately clean, comfortable, safe, located in the best part of Assisi near the communal square, walking distance to everything. Host Stefano is a truly gentle and gracious person. All the staff are accommodating and willing to help and make you feel at home. They also have an elegant restaurant which serves excellent meals and you will find that most of their customers are local people so you will find there the best of the regions offerings. I cannot find even one small thing to criticize as it was a great experience and I would love to come back. If you come to Italy do not miss the medieval town of Assisi and stay at the Hotel Pallotta. You will not be disappointed. Grazie mille Stefano.
