Charming hotel in the heart of Assisi. Stefano was most welcoming and assisted with bus tickets to Siena, as the website was difficult to navigate. Would definitely recommend!
Wow... That is all I can say! What an amazing stay in Assisi at the most charming place in exactly the right spot. Stefano is the best host and his place is so charming and perfect in all respects. Thank you so much!
This BnB stay was delightful for our 2 nights in Assisi! I'd somehow missed reading that the room is one of 8 in a charming albergo. Upon arrival it was a welcome sight, located on a main street, just a walk down from the top bus stop. The entrance is actually up a flight of outdoor stairs, the kind that people stop and take photos of. Stefano was unable to meet us when we arrived, but had a very gracious family friend, Rafaele, meet us on the street. After managing the stairs with bags, everything about the Pallotta welcomed us and made our efforts well worth it-- fresh fruits, pastries, cold beverages, espresso/cappuccino machine, always available for guests. Each room is unique. We had this photographed room, the Magnolia, but the photo does not do it justice. The bed was comfortable and all was very clean. The window opens wide, and it was wonderful, being above street level, to take in the fresh air and the sounds of folks walking by in this mostly-pedestrian town.
Stefano did meet us the next morning as he serves up each coffee for the guests in the eating area. Very charming and helpful host, making each person feel very welcomed. Gave us vrry good information about his beloved Assisi. The very large (by European standards) self-serve breakfast offered pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals, yogurts, beverages, all with colorful dishes which that area is known for.
I greatly appreciated that the bed linens and towels were NOT heavily fragranced as we've encountered in other BnB settings. Also, the view from the upper Belvedere room is probably the best around!
The only annoyance that we could find is that the bathroom fan turns on with the light, as in many places, and the internal bathroom is completely dark without any outlet for our nightlight. Also, it would be wonderful to find available a small clothes dryer. I don't mind washing out a few small items by hand (the place DOES offer a washer), but it's the drying that is the problem, throughout Italy. Fifteen minutes in a dryer sure beats two to three days hanging, if one has that time.
We SO appreciated Stefano's kindness, emails and text messages long before our trip, and meeting him and the Hotel Pallotta (same family as the well-known restaurant, reservations a must)! We really must return here! Grazie mille, Stefano!
I didn't realize this place was in a small hotel with about 6 other rooms, but it was perfect. There was an amazing view in the top floor tower that overlooked the town. The room was clean and comfy and had everything we needed and wifi worked great. There was breakfast included and the 'kitchen' area was available for use all day. It was a GREAT location as well. Assisi was an amazing little town and this was the perfect place to stay.
A beautiful stay in a gorgeous city! The room was small with a lovely view of the rooftops in the city. The location is ideal. Stefano answered all of my questions and then offered great suggestions for sightseeing and good eating. Highly, highly recommend!
I loved staying at Stefano's, he is very professional and goes out of his way to ensure that you are happy and comfortable. The room was very clean and having your own bathroom is a real bonus. The location is central to everything and Assisi is the most amazing place.
This was a fabulous place to stay, and I would definately go back. I didnt meet Stefano as he was away, but the staff I did meet were most helpful, generous and genuine. The bed was wonderful, great wee bathroom, fresh and delicious choices for breakfast, open fridge for water and juice during the day, and cakes! Only a few steps from the central square, easy for travellers, bit noisy most nights with musicians and singing and revellers in the square below but it was high season and if I was 20 years younger Id have probably joined in! Fab restaurant almost next door, I couldnt fault this wee hotel and will stay there next time definately.
