We had contact with Lada prior to flying in to Split when she arranged for her taxi driver friend to collect us from the airport. This went smoothly and he made a call when we arrived. We were met by Magda who showed us the apartment and was really helpful. Apartment was clean, quirky and in an excellent location within walls of Diocletian Palace. Walking distance to beach, markets and restaurants. loved our stay.
Five stars. All the way top top top. Top service. Top place. Top apartment. I can´t think of anything I would have, that I did not have. Highly recommended to all who want a dream come true in Split :)
The location inside the Palace and the view from the one window is spectacular. VERY small space. It is on the fourth floor and the studio is clean & new. Quiet. Good bed.
We had an incredible stay in Split and felt like princesses in our palace apartment! :) The check-in process was very smooth - Lada had another rep meet us at the car rental branch and take us to the apartment and ensure we had everything we needed to be comfortable including restaurant recommendations (which were great!!!). The apartment is much larger and more modern than it was pictured - we were shocked at how much space we had! The HUGE roof-top deck is on the same level as the apartment and has one of the most amazing views in the city! Make sure you're back for sunset for sure! We commented that we felt like we lived there vs. staying in a rental - very comfortable, clean and every amenity you could think of. Would not hesitate to highly recommend this apartment and Lada!
The apartment easily accommodated the three of us, and was in walking distance to the city wall. Lada's apartment was clean and offered air conditioner. However, we felt there was no clear communication with our host. I was told there would be internet and when we arrived I was told the modem was broken. I had to prompt the host to fix the problem. She brought us a VPN token, but failed to give us instructions in English to the Croatian website on how to set it up, so we never actually had working internet. And subsequent texts for help were never answered.
Additionally, there was only one roll of toilet paper, and no extra supplies. We asked for instructions to the washing machine, but they were never provided. Also, we accidently turned off the hot water heater because the switch looked like a light switch, and there was no sign giving warning. For those with heavier suitcases, this apartment is up six long flights of stairs, situated at the very top of the apartment building.
The apartment was clean but smelled of smoke. We had problems with the street noise. The apartment was not the one depicted on the website but it was perfectly located and personable in price. There was some sewer gas smell and we had problems with the stove. The person who took us to the apartment was not the owner, nor did she seem to know anything about it. She was talking on two cell phones and in a rush. We let her get away without her showing us the proper way to use the stove, but I doubt she could have shown us anyway. We enjoyed Split, especially the market.
The apartment was not the one I'd booked based on the photos on Airbnb, but it was fine for 2 nights. It's in the southeastern tower of Diocletian's Palace, nearest the ferry piers. Quite a thrill actually staying in a tower of the 1,700 year-old palace! Tiny, nicely decorated bedroom with minuscule shower/toilet but great view of cathedral dome & bell tower from the window. The best thing was the terrace (one floor below the apt) with its panoramic view over the waterfront. Wonderful spot for breakfast. Apt was well-equipped, wifi worked, water pressure was fine. Highly recommend this small but charming apt for fit, young people who want to stay within Diocletian's Palace, not for elderly folks as it's up 5 floors of steep stairs. Lada kindly let us keep our bags in the store-room after late check-out. (We didn't meet Lada; her friend took us to the apt). Rated 3 stars only in comparison with other apartments in similar price range that we stayed at during our 18-day trip around Croatia.
The apartment was fantastic. It was not the same place as in the photos, which was a bit disorienting, but we didnt mind as it was still an exceptional spot. The only thing missing was the rooftop terrace, which was mentioned in the listing, but to be honest we completely forgot about it because everything else was so great. There were two bathrooms! The location was perfect, very close to the old town and ferry & bus terminals, it was extremely clean, and had tons of character. We didnt get to meet Lada, but she was always available via email and her friend who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. All in all we had a great stay in Split, and I would definitely recommend anyone planning on visiting there to get in touch with Lada.
The apartment is right in the center of the city, with amazing views! Unfortunately didn't get a chance to meet Lada, but her friend who showed us the place was very helpful, she gave us great food recommendations. Great place!
Probably the best location you can find, take it from a guy who grew up in the city:). Everything was perfect.
