About This Listing
My flat is situated in a typical Viennese old house near the city center and therefore perfect to visit many of the famous sights (10 walking minutes to Opera House). Free tea and coffee, shared use of washing machine, Wifi, Nintendo Wii, TV, …
Large, cosy and sunny flat in a typical Viennese old house (with 3.40m high rooms) on the 4th floor (no lift). Your room with one bed is something special: it lies on a 6m2 high-platform in about 1.90m height in my working room. I only have to walk through the working room to get to my sleeping room. Otherwise you have the room more or less for yourself. And there are curtains to make the platform a very private space.
Shared use of kitchen (with free tea and coffee), bathroom and living room. You are welcome to use Wifi and TV. A washing machine and dryer can be used for a contribution towards expenses.
Towels, bedlinen and if you wish also shampoo and showergel are provided. There is also an iron and a hair dryer available.
Interaction with Guests
If I have time I'd be happy to show you around Vienna or go out for a drink, lunch or dinner. If I have no time available I can at least offer you some information and tips on what you could do in Vienna. If there is time we can bake a strudel (a typical Viennese dessert) together.
My flat lies in the 4th district and is 10 walking minutes from the Opera House and the city center and five minutes to the famous Naschmarkt. There are a couple of subway-, bus- and tramstations nearby.
There are lots of small shops, nice restaurants and bars in this district.
My flat is a good starting point for exploring the city by foot but there is also public transport around my flat: U1, U2, U4, 1, 62, 59A, 13A, Badner Bahn

Karin is a great host. The place is tidy, comfy and at very good location. Recommended!
Karin was a nice host. The location of her house was close to most of the touristic attractions. Her high room was very special experience to me. I really loved her decorations of her house. Because of my flight delay, I got home pretty late. But she welcomed me with nice smile. I recommend her house and I would like to stay her house next time I come to Vienna: D
Staying with Karin was excellent - her apartment is big and airy, and the room is very cute and private. I was in Vienna for a week to attend a conference at the Austria Centre Vienna and it was very convenient - only a 25 minute journey (walk + subway) and you're there. The neighbourhood is a lot more interesting to stay in than central Vienna, and there are plenty of good restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance.
Karin was very warm and interesting to talk to. She made me feel very welcome and had lots of recommendations for my stay, even if I couldn't do a lot of them because I was busy with the conference and some essays I was working on. I definitely recommend staying here, you won't regret it!
It was a a great place to stay for a couple of days to explore Vienna. Extremely close to the city center as well as close to the subway station which was very convenient as well. Karin was very helpful and gave me several suggestions of places to visit and was a great host. If I ever get the opportunity to return to Vienna, I would definitely try and stay here again.
Karin was extremely welcoming and kind. Her place is warm and in a great location near the Naschmarkt. I would love to stay here again.
About the Host, Karin
I love to travel but right now I don't have so much opportunity to do so, therefore I would be happy to host people of different countries and cultures. If I have time I'd be happy to show you around or at least provide you with information and tips.
I like meeting friends, go geocaching, photography, visiting musicals, doing my own handycraft, reading books, playing badminton, biking, hiking, playing escape games, cooking, and much more.
My personal philosophy: Life is too short to waste it. You determine what you do with your life. Just do it!
