Interaction with Guests
I like to be available to guests at breakfast. I have plenty of brochures for local attractions, an A-Z, maps, and local advice on hand.
I can book cabs, restaurants, tickets or make calls for local information. Always ask.
I'm good to go with a glass of wine and a chat around the kitchen table.
I do appreciate guests who read listing details, it makes life easier for the guest to make a decision and then I don't have to repeat myself!
See my 'Guidebook' for recommendations.
You'll find that Splott is a residential area, just on the edge of the city centre, within a walkable distance. It has enough local amenities in order for me to survive. I can get my lotto tickets, tub of Ben+Jerry's, a bet on the 3.30 at Kempton, a huge 2 course meal in El Timon and a bus to the city centre. There's only 1 decent local pub, The Royal Oak, situated 10mins walk away. There's two outstanding bakeries you must experience!
I like the history behind Splott, the community and the local Cardiff 'proper tidy' accent.
You'll find the bus stops to and from the city, both opposite each other on Splott Rd. It's a 7 day service. Bus service No.2 also serves Splott. You can walk to the centre within 25mins, I can give you a map but most people have GPS on their phones. You're not far from the M4 here too.
A cab to the centre will take 10mins at a cost of £6 upwards.
Once you're in the centre, there's an open-top-bus city tour or take the water taxi between the city and Cardiff Bay.

I've been working in Cardiff so chose Rossi's house and i've rebooked more time there.
The house is exactly as advertised, comfortable and clean. Rossi herself couldn't be more helpful.
A home from home :)
Rossi gave us a warm Welcome at her kitchen when arriving on saturday arvo after a day of cricket at SWALEC. The stay was great, even better breakfast in the morning. Thanks so much!
Rossi was the perfect host and could not do enough for us. The room and bathroom were spotless and everything you could possibly need was provided. The bed was extremely comfortable too! I would not hesitate to recommend Rossi's place to anyone visiting Cardiff.
Our host for the weekend, Rossi, was wonderful. From the warm welcome and the clean room/facilities to her accurate local knowledge and information sharing, she was everything that is perfect. Calling cabs, providing pub names, advising best modes of transport - everything was spot on. House was quiet, despite it being a full house for Rossi and the other guests were considerate and lovely. Beds were clean and comfy, on the top bunk the mattress is lovely and soft. Breakfast is compulsory with Rossi, and she provided a splendid cooked breakfast for us - catering for taste, too!!! Coffee was hot & delicious, and she even provided me with an early morning takeaway for my train trip! A wonderful trip and made much easier by having a wonderful host.
Rossi was lovely and very warm receiving us. She made us feel at home, being always concern and available to help us getting into Cardiff and around the city. The house is very clean and organized. The room was big enough for the four of us, with a mini fridge in the room (which I found TOP and shows how Rossi care about details), water and tea supplies. The neighborhood was very quite, the house is within a fare walking distance to the city centre and Cardiff prices are just as described in Rossi's presentation: very cheap! compering to London surrounding area.
Great, great, great! I would definitely recommend it!
Wonderful host in a cosy home. Rossi did everything to make us feel good. She guided us when we wanted to visit Cardiff, booked a taxi when we wanted to go out, did a nice breakfast and even some cupcakes for our way. A true feel at home experience.
Rossi was really helpful and charm. Our rooms were exactly she promote.
I really love the huge breakfast she provide to us and specially the introduction to Walles history

About the Host, Rossi
By day I am a massage/beauty therapist but also a busy hands-on home owner who offers Welsh hospitality to all guests.
This is a 4 bedroom terraced property, 10mins drive to the city entre. It has 2 double rooms, one bedroom with dbl loft bed plus dbl sofa bed for 4 guests and the a King size bed in my own bedroom. Guests are politely asked to understand that my own bedroom is only offered up when all 3 other bedrooms are booked. See full details, as per the listing.
THERE ARE NO SINGLE BEDS OR SINGLE ROOMS.
I enjoy all aspects of being a host, providing a big Welsh breakfast, having a chat over a vino, giving visitor information on the capital and helping guests as much as possible.
As for things I like, I'm a huge rugby fan, keen independent traveller, current affairs, entertaining friends at home, socialising in the city, talking about the Welsh language, cinema, photography, comedy nights at The Glee Club, Curb Your Enthusiasm, home baking and a large glass of vino calapso after a hectic week.
I appreciate good communication with potential guests so that their stay is as pleasant and hassle free as possible. I'd like to think that I go an extra mile for guests, so if you want me to put some beers in the fridge, a heated footspa, or some Welsh cakes on your arrival, just ask.
Cardiff is a great big-little-city which caters for all ages, genres and budgets. Pack your comfy shoes, the city centre is pretty flat and bike hire will whizz you from Llandaff Cathedral down to Cardiff Bay in a flash. We got it all going on in the Principality, so come and stay soon!
