Interaction with Guests
I like to be available to guests at breakfast. I have plenty of brochures for local attractions, an A-Z, maps, and local advice on hand.
I can book cabs, restaurants, tickets or make calls for local information. Always ask.
I'm good to go with a glass of wine and a chat around the kitchen table.
I do appreciate guests who read listing details, it makes life easier for the guest to make a decision and then I don't have to repeat myself!
See my 'Guidebook' for recommendations.
You'll find that Splott is a residential area, just on the edge of the city centre, within a walkable distance. It has enough local amenities in order for me to survive. I can get my lotto tickets, tub of Ben+Jerry's, a bet on the 3.30 at Kempton, a huge 2 course meal in El Timon and a bus to the city centre. There's only 1 decent local pub, The Royal Oak, situated 10mins walk away. There's two outstanding bakeries you must experience!
I like the history behind Splott, the community and the local Cardiff 'proper tidy' accent.
You'll find the bus stops to and from the city, both opposite each other on Splott Rd. It's a 7 day service. Bus service No.2 also serves Splott. You can walk to the centre within 25mins, I can give you a map but most people have GPS on their phones. You're not far from the M4 here too.
A cab to the centre will take 10mins at a cost of £5 upwards.
Once you're in the centre, there's an open-top-bus city tour or take the water taxi between the city and Cardiff Bay.

Let's get one thing straight before I say anything else. Rossi is without even a shadow of a doubt, the most dedicated and most competent Airbnb host in the United Kingdom. Have I met and stayed with all of the hosts? No, I haven't, though I have stayed with quite a few now. But that doesn't matter, because after even a few minutes with Rossi you can just tell that she really knows what she is doing. She loves her job, not just something to pay the bills - but she really loves meeting new guests, getting to know them and do everything in her power to make their stay an easy and fun loving experience. The house itself is fantastic and truly unique, it has the feel of a small hostel, with a few rooms for guests. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms are well stocked and reasonably furnished. Rossi offers a complete breakfast each morning and even offers dinner for guests as well, at a cost (But 3 pounds for like the best pasta ever is hardly a cost in my opinion).
Anyway, I cannot really say much more than that, Rossi is and will continue to be an inspiration to me as she is everything that an Airbnb host should be. Thanks for the fantastic stay Rossi!
P.S. She made us cupcakes to take with us when we went out during the day! If that isn't the literally definition of the very best host ever, I do not know what is.
A very welcoming and comfortable listing. Rossi is very friendly and keeps you informed plus cooks a good breakfast sandwich. The location is good and it is easy to get to the city center from it. Very pleased with my stay there.
Rossi is a very kind and hospitable host!! She offered everything that I need and give me o lot of information. If I had chance to visit Cardiff again I will definitely stay with Rossi!
The room is very large and the bed is so comfortable, that is quite luxury for just one person to live. :P
Rossi house was quite well furnished, and equiped.
But unfortunatelly the rent fee is very hight for location such as Splot and Cardiff in general.
You have to pay if somebody come to visit you. I was asked for 15, pounds per night! Which is quite a lot of money if you already pay a rent!
Also I can NOT wash my own cloth whenever I wanted! Need to wait for her cloths or pay her an extra fees!
In general we were three girls in the house and non of us feel very welcome! Quite tough atmosphere. But if you are male you should be fine.
Rossi couldn't have been more welcoming. We arrived late (pre-arranged) on a Friday night and she quickly showed us the room for our children to go straight to bed and then offered us a range of drinks to help us get over the long journey.
She told us all about Cardiff and her love of this city really shone through. The next day she cooked us breakfast and organised taxis for our group to get to a wedding. She was there with drinks and a smile when we returned that evening.
A real home from home!
3 friends and I booked last minute to stay at rossi's apartment. She was extremely accommodating with the booking process prior to arrival. On arrival, we were overwhelmed with rossi's friendly and welcoming manner as she exceeded all expectations. Rossi continually offered us soft drinks, cookies and cups of tea and she made a delicious breakfast in the morning. She gave great advice for our night out, called us a taxi and she lent us her ghd straighteners! The house itself is quirky and lovely! Bathrooms and kitchen are very modern and the bedrooms were well equipped. Being in a group, we were not expecting to spend as much time chatting to our host but Rossi is really interesting and we ended up chatting for hours. We would all definitely recommend this place and when I return to Cardiff, this will be my first choice of accommodation!!!!! Thanks Rossi!!!!

By day I am a massage/beauty therapist but also a busy hands-on home owner who offers Welsh hospitality to all guests.
This is a 4 bedroom terraced property, 10mins drive to the city entre. It has 2 double rooms, one bedroom with dbl loft bed plus dbl sofa bed for 4 guests and the a King size bed in my own bedroom. Guests are politely asked to understand that my own bedroom is only offered up when all 3 other bedrooms are booked. See full details, as per the listing.
THERE ARE NO SINGLE BEDS OR SINGLE ROOMS.
I enjoy all aspects of being a host, providing a big Welsh breakfast, having a chat over a vino, giving visitor information on the capital and helping guests as much as possible.
As for things I like, I'm a huge rugby fan, keen independent traveller, current affairs, entertaining friends at home, socialising in the city, talking about the Welsh language, cinema, photography, comedy nights at The Glee Club, Curb Your Enthusiasm, home baking and a large glass of vino calapso after a hectic week.
I appreciate good communication with potential guests so that their stay is as pleasant and hassle free as possible. I'd like to think that I go an extra mile for guests, so if you want me to put some beers in the fridge, a heated footspa, or some Welsh cakes on your arrival, just ask.
Cardiff is a great big-little-city which caters for all ages, genres and budgets. Pack your comfy shoes, the city centre is pretty flat and bike hire will whizz you from Llandaff Cathedral down to Cardiff Bay in a flash. We got it all going on in the Principality, so come and stay soon!
