About This Listing
Beautiful beach villa in the quiet and peaceful development Baan Talay Samran. Surrounded by tropical gardens, 3 swimming pools and a private spa.
Sleeps 8 people comfortably - perfect for families looking to get away from it all. Pure relaxation.
2nd bedroom on 2nd floor with ensuite and views of tropical gardens. Air cons in all rooms and huge balcony.
Beautiful 3 story beach villa set in a quiet and peaceful development. Surrounded by tropical gardens there are 3 swimming pools and a private spa attached to your villa. There are 2 saunas available in the main building too. Pure escapism in the Thai beach resort of Cha-am.
Villa is perfectly suited for families.
Imagine waking up in the morning to the sounds of the ocean and tweeting birds. Brew a coffee and relax on the huge balcony with recliner seats or even use the hammock if you havent really woken up yet.
Once you are up for it take a stroll along the beach and watch the fisherman in action with nets and rods.... dodge a few crabs along the way!
Then back for a swim in one of the 3 swimming pools and you can even try out the Jacuzzi or Sauna.
The villa comfotrtably sleeps 8 adults with 4 bedrooms (2 double ensuites and two twin rooms). The master bedroom is on the 3rd floor and the 3 other bedrooms are on the 2nd floor.
My villa is better than others because:
Larger villa which comfortably sleeps 8 (others have 6)
I have added a new kitchen extension
I live in Thailand and visit often. (I keep the place in excellent condition)
Originally decorated for owner living so the place looks likes a home and not a rental property
Entertainment package with True Visions Satellite (get all the best sporting events live - most others only have basic package)
My prices include electricity and water costs (others do not)
I include my own personal Wifi connection for free. (Others use a 3rd party shared and paid for service)
Right on the beach front this villa is located approx 3 kilometres from Cha-am village. It offers a real opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Within the small and exclusive complex there are 3 swimming pools – including one kiddies pool. There is also a sauna available to lazily work off the excess calories – Singha beer and Thai food are hard to resist! There is also an excellent family run restaurant that offers European and Thai food – they will even deliver to your villa so you can relax in your private spa while indulging yourself.
This villa would suit families looking to get away from it all. The tropical gardens offer plenty of space for kids to play around and the beach is on your doorstep. You can walk for about 3kms along the beach which is very private and secluded.
Recently the kitchen has been extended and this villa is the largest and best equipped of all the villas in the complex. I have also added a set of twin beds so that the villa comfortably sleeps 8 adults.
Take advantage of the exclusive private spa and the massive balcony that offers you sunshine all day long.
I can help arrange airport collection and transfer right to the door of the villa. I can also help with arranging car rental for your stay.
I lived in the area for a long time and built up insider knowledge which I am happy to share.
I also look after rentals for my neighbours properties so if my villa isn't available please get in touch and I can check their availability. They have 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas.
Guests have access to the entire 3 floors of the villa. There is only one small room (under the stairs) that is locked where the owner keeps their private items.
Interaction with Guests
I'm actively involved with my guests but we do also have staff and management on-site that can assist.
This villa is set in a quiet and peaceful development and it is right on the beach.
Many of the owners do NOT rent out their properties and therefore we are very strict on the guests we accept.
We do NOT want parties or large groups of people.
If you are looking for a nice family vacation or a place to kick back and relax then it is perfect! If you are looking to party then please choose elsewhere :-)
It's better if you have a car or we can help with hiring one. There is a minibus service to the local town - costs about 200 baht.
But you can also hire motorbikes or pushbikes to get around.
Other Things to Note
I love this villa.... and I love the whole complex. My neighbours are lovely and I want to ensure that my guests don't cause any problems :-) So please be considerate of my neighbours. Thanks!
Monthly rentals do not include electricity.
Villa is in an exclusive development that is mainly owner occupiers. Mid week is quiet but at weekends the owners come from Bangkok. It is really important that villa is NOT used for parties and that guests keep noise to a minimum. This is NOT a party place but perfect for relaxation and family getaways. Security guards patrol 24/7
No pets allowed.
Please shower before using the swimming pool.
Please ask office to activate Spa and show you how to use it properly
From Dec 19, 2015 - Jan 10, 2016 the minimum stay is 7 nights.
Really good size 4 bed villa in a great location. if it is peace and quiet you are after, this area is perfect.
A 5 star restaurant 5 minutes up the beach and a very reasonable thai sea food restaurant 5 minutes walk down the beach.
We have a group of seven friends for this 4D3N trip, and really enjoyed our stay at the villa.
The villa was in great conditions when we arrived. The rooms and baths are clean and comfortable. Two rooms with queen bed and two rooms with two single beds, and four bathrooms made for easy accommodation. Having the balcony area on 1F and 2F were very very nice. Free and strong wifi was a major plus, and the staff at the complex were friendly and patient with our needs and assistance.
The pools are quite nice, but close down early in the evening, and not many bench chairs around. So if you are looking to relax next to the pool or beach at night, can't do it. While there's a private spa, the water was not very clean, so couldn't use it.
Not the owner's fault, but be aware:
While it says a beach resort, the beach is rocky and also not very clean, and water not swimmable because of tons of jellyfish!
The overall experience was wonderful. Thanks for providing a lovely place, Gerard!
I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay. Just a few points on your feedback. The pools close at 8pm but you can still sit around the pools (you just cannot swim in them). You can also relax at the beach front whenever you like. I provide plenty of extra sunbeds and beach chairs just for my guests so you don't have to rely on the public chairs (all stored in the outside storage which I provide keys for). During the rainy season, there are sometimes jelly fish but this year has been very bad for the whole of the Gulf of Thailand - so much so that it was a big news item - it's usually not that bad. As for the beach, I really don't think that it's rocky at all..... it's actually a really nice beach - especially when the tide is out. Every time I go there I also pick up rubbish on the beach - it comes in with the tide but really it is a nice, quiet and clean beach. However, it is not like the beaches you see in the south of Thailand but it is definitely one of the best beaches so close to Bangkok.
Nice villa with 3 swimming pools (including 1 kids pool) , greenery garden, and spacious balconies on ground fl and 2nd floor. We stayed with 2 families, 7 people, and spent really relaxing holidays. No need to go to crowded Cha Am beach road as 7-11 and restaurants are just 5 minutes drive. We will come back again.
1.) Great environment
2.) Quiet and secluded
3.) Comfortable beds
4.) Great internet connection
5.) Good air-conditioning
1.) No washing machine
2.) No range hood in kitchen
3.) Water heater in 1st floor bathroom not working
We arrived with our own van, and security guard tried to unload our luggages, and stuff fell out of the van and broken some of our cooking ware and some jars, we still tipped him for trying to be helpful.
When we arrived, housekeeping was still doing the cleaning, we didn't have to wait for long to get settled.
Once we were in, my family loved the place so much that they decided to cook and eat-in for almost the entire stay.
Noticed the 1st floor water heater was not working, but which was fine since no one used that bathroom for shower, there are plenty bathrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor.
Also, please make sure you stop the water running that fills the private pool before you use the indoor water supply, otherwise the water pressure is not enough to get to the 3rd floor, and which also isn't enough to trigger the water heater on the 2nd floor.
Enjoyed the pool in the late afternoon, water temperature was great as it was the hottest time of the year.
As we have shopped at Tesco Lotus Tha Yang before we check-in to the villa, we had food supply to cook our dinner which we noticed it would be nice if there was a range hood to provide better ventilation.
Cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner in-house and the family had a quality time together.
As we had food left to consume, we have requested for a late check-out, and Gerard was very kind to us. We had our lunch, cleaned up our trash, washed the dishes, made sure everything goes back to their original places and left the rest to the housekeeping.
We broke two glasses and informed to the maintenance to charge us for those, sorry about the glasses, Gerard.
Overall, my family had a great time and which meant the most for me, therefore hereby rate a 5 stars for the villa and its owner, and it is definitely a place to recommend to families and friends.
I could write a much more in-depth review for our experiences during the stay, unfortunately, there's a 500 words limit to this. And for those who are considering booking this place, make sure you treat the house like it's your own, and you will be welcomed back anytime! Bye for now and thank you, Gerard, for renting out such nice place for a reasonable price.
Thanks for the nice review. The range hood in kitchen is a great idea - and I will do this on my next visit there. There should be enough water pressure to reach the 3rd floor as I added a new water pump and water tank. I will get the engineer to check it all.
Anyway, glad you and your family enjoyed your stay!
The house is excellent for a family vacation and the host has been very proactive in making sure everything was fine for our stay - especially to get the Internet free of charge throughout the house and getting a second baby cot!! The house is spacious (we were 4 adults and 3 kids), in good condition, mattresses are comfortable, and there are power showers in each bathroom. Also no lounging chairs or hamoc on the outside terrasse but that was ok
The residence is in excellent condition, with 3 swimming pools - no fitness center however as all the equipment was under repair when we were there.
Service of cleaning and laundry from the residence staff is handy.
It is located in a secluded area outside of Sha'am which means you definitely need a car or motorbike to go shopping or go out for dinner/lunch.
The beach was not usable much when we were there because of many jelly fish - i think there is some season for this so it's important to check when is good time to go there.
Overall very happy with this family reunion holiday. I would recommend to stay at Ger's beach villa.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. The gym has been closed for a while now and I have updated my listings accordingly.... Sauna is still available though.
There was a big storm just before you arrived so that could have caused the jelly fish - not sure really but the swimming pools are OK to use :-)
Hope you come back again :-)
We stayed at Baan TaLay samran for 4 nights during the long weekend. The house itself is beautiful and landscaping also nice. The house is very spacious that enough to entertain all of us. Pools are the mean highlights for our children.
Please keep in mind this place is located on very remote area that mean hard to get around without your own vehicle. Only one local hut restaurant and a lil local run minimart within 120 meters ( restaurant close at 5-6 pm) The beach is ok with ton of jelly fish around. I would say pretty rocky beach with shells around.. Water shoes would help I guess.
We had a air conditioning problem on our 2nd night in my bedroom. It was leaking and make so much noise. The maintenance guy tried to fix it but they couldn't do anything much until the day I left . The owner offered us to use only one of the bedroom next door but we refused due to our young children preferred to have us around in the same house at night.
I would suggest to have more towels and hand towels in each bathrooms. We had to use only towel each for pool , beach and after shower for 5 days 4 (website hidden) was pretty gross. If I knew they didn't provided enough I would have brought it myself.
Overall, this place is good for big family to hang out during the weekend.. Don't forget to Stock up groceries..
Great place. The villa is excellent -- cozy and very well maintained. A real bargain at the price being offered. Also, the proximity from the beach is good. There's a small store walking distance from the villa for cold drinks and (website hidden) and softdrinks are also available at the front office, but you need to stock up and put in the ref because it's not cold. (No Guinness to celebrate St. Patrick's in either :-( )
The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is because the place is quite a walk or bike ride from the town proper and good eating places (but not an issue with a car), and you need to pay for wifi.
About the Host, Gerard
I love travelling and have been all over the world but have settled down in Thailand now. After a year working in the rice fields up North we recently opened a new restaurant in Yasothon.
I used to live in Cha-am and my beach villa is available for rent. I visit regularly so the place is kept in excellent condition.
When I was younger I travelled the world solo for 13 months. It was a life changing experience and one of my favourite destinations was South East Asia.
A few years later I retrained as an IT specialist and managed to secure a decent job in Thailand. Ever since then I have made Thailand my home.
I learnt the language and can speak, read and write Thai to a decent level.
I lived in the Cha-am villa for over a year so I know exactly what the area is like and will give real and honest advice.
I am happy to help with any questions you may have. Please get in touch.
Due to the recent success in bookings I am now also helping out my Father with his villa rental in Gran Canaria. I have visited there many times myself and give local insight and advice. My Father lives there for over half the year so whatever I cant help with, he will be able to!
