we can't thank Alex enough for her hospitality; though there's not a chance to meet Yoga as he's outstation for work.
We love the tranquility of the bungalow we could enjoy, surrounded by the local paddy fields. The cat and the dog, and the whole crew of staff, esp. Yanni's cooking (oh mine, it's so yummy!!!) made us feel like home! And traveler like you and i know that, to feel a foreign place as your home, is hard to get.
We had our space on our own (me and my two high school female friends). The house is next to the main house, individual yet connected to the host. Everywhere you turn around, there's a salon photo can be taken in this house.
CK thanks for your lovely words! We really enjoyed having you and your friends stay. We always appreciate house guests who are comfortable in our space like they would be at home, and we found you to be the perfect combination of pure ease and gentle care and thoughtfulness. So thank you for coming to stay! We hope to host you again in the future and get to know you better. Happy and safe travels
Fantastic accommodation, with great views of the fields and a very local Balinese feel while at the same time a relaxing accommodation. You will need a car for this accommodation however that is the whole appeal as you easily venture into ubud or other surrounding areas and then leave to your home. Great breaky too! Highly recommend.
Alex and Yoga have a beautiful guesthouse, a lovely home and are helpful and welcoming. They also provided the finest breakfasts of the trip! Our kids very much enjoyed hanging with their children and pets. We recommend these hosts. Thanks for having us guys!!
Awesome place and view! We were so lucky to find this place. Yoga, Alex and the kids are such a great host. Their staff are great too. We loved their simple yet scrumptious selection of breakfast meals (homemade yoghurt and fruit salad!). Our son really loved to hang out with their boys and often asked whether they would be around when we got home from our trip around Bali.
We're pretty much amazed to see this bungalow, which was built out of recycled timbers and debris from the earthquake in Yogya. For us this place offers a valuable experience of holidaying with a great sense of environment responsibility particularly in Ubud where many expensive villas have replaced rice fields.
We highly recommend this place to holidaymakers with kids. Their pets (two dogs and one kitten) are very playful.
Thank you Yoga and Alex and family. Thank you to Ibu Yuli and her staff. We definitely come back should a glorious opportunity arises in the future.
Bungalow was gorgeous! Exactly like the pictures and very rustic, however very clean. Description is true to how the place is maintained and enjoyed. The Girls made excellent breakfast each morning. However, the bungalow is a bit hard to find for a first timer, maybe a sign on the main road or something would help, our taxi got frustrated after an hour of being lost and dropped us at a random restaurant. The owners quickly picked us up and delivered us to the bungalow. Very nice atmosphere and rice field views in the morning.
My family had a great stay in Alex and Yoga's bungalow. The two of them, their family, and staff were very warm and welcoming. We just wanted to come to Bali to relax and that is what we did. The bungalow was comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, although some of the dogs can be a bit intimidated. The food was great, especially the pancakes. Getting to Ubud was super easy by cab. But we preferred to avoid the crowds and stayed closer to home. The family is very relaxed and take their cues off of you as to how much you want to engage. We had a curious two year old in tow and she was always spying on them. They invited us over, even fed her dinner. We had a great time. It did take a couple of nights for us city folk to get used to the frog songs at night. Thanks for being such great hosts and letting us partake in your beautiful property!
We had a great time in the bungalow of Alex and Yoga and their family. It is a great getaway from the busy city of Ubud. The house is beautiful, the panorama is fantastic, the people are warm and respect your privacy, the breakfasts are delicious. In short an amazing experience to stay here for relaxing and explore the surroundings. Thanks to the family of sharing this guesthouse with others.
What can I say apart from apologies for such a late review.
This abode was beyond expectations! Suited for romantic getaway or family escape to the real Bali!
Alex and Yoga's family respect your privacy, but equally manage to identify when you wish to engage and welcome you with open arms and enrich your Bali experience.
Accommodation is gorgeous, all reclaimed/recycled materials and beautiful local furnishings and decor.
The puppies are to die for and Alby, Yahn and Indi ( the three cherubs/children) completely embraced our children and gave them a local, true Bali experience. Adventures in the rice fields, down the local store, reading, chatting, playing with the turtle, swimming in the pool and sharing their culture, teaching their language.
Yuli is an amazing cook without exception and transport not an issue. It is only a 5/10 minute drive into town depending on whether you need to be north or south. But for Bali and it's one way streets, this is normal and worth it to be in such a beautiful location.
Pondok Langon, "The Beverly Hills of Bali". I refer to the natural natural beauty of this Real Estate and it's value....not the shops!
Alex and Yoga were great conversationalists and had much to share about Indonesia and nothing was too much trouble. But equally on our holiday, every one went to school and work and gave us our space, we were almost excited to see them when they came home.
Sad to go. Definitely be back x
We travelled to four destinantions in Bali and this was by far our favourite. Would definitely return.
Thanks so much Rachael for the heartwarming review! You and your family were such delightful guests to host, and we so very much appreciate you taking the time to send us through the lovely photo collage of your stay. It was memorable for all of us. Our doors are wide open awaiting your return! Happy and safe travels to you and your family.
