Maeve and Ken are the best! We loved staying in their home. Our favorite place to stay by far. They treated us so kindly, made us feel right at home immediately. Spent real quality time talking to us and gave us good ideas of places to see around Dublin. Wish we could have stayed the whole week there. We would highly recommend them to everyone. Thanks again Maeve and Ken!
We really enjoyed our stay with Ken and Maeve. Our room was very nice, exactly as shown in the pictures and they were very welcoming hosts. Getting downtown or to the airport from their home is really simple. Ken and Maeve had lots of tips for exploring Dublin and also let us borrow Leap cards for the bus. Overall, we had an excellent experience with them.
It was cozy and welcoming stay at Ken & Maeve! Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed staying there. Neighborhood is calm and quiet. Also good connection with the city center and the airport.
Maeve and Ken are very friendly and we really had pleasure having breakfast together with them. We got some nice tips what to visit and we were really satisfied with their suggestions! It really felt like home :)
Maeve and Ken made me feel very, very welcome since the time that I arrived at their home in Dublin.
They were both very hospitable and offered a wide selection for breakfast (including cereal, Irish bread and butter, jam, fruit and juice), and even invited me to have a cuppa in the evening or at night.
The directions to their home were crisp and precise, hence making it easy for me to direct the taxi driver from Dublin Airport to Santry.
Above all, I loved the neighbourhood as it was a typical family-occupied residential area, which meant that I did not need to worry about crime or theft. Plus, I could walk to Omni Shopping Centre, The Comet Pub, Spar convenience store, bank and a pharmacy (all within 1 km reach)!
I would certainly stay at Maeve and Ken's residence if given another chance to visit Dublin.
Me and my friend had a great time at the Gavins home and we really enjoyed our stay!
The bed was comfortable and all the rooms were clean and tidy. It was also very quiet during the night so we could get a good rest from exploring the lively city. Maeve and Ken were great hosts, as they gave us a lot of tips and helpful information about places to visit and how to get there. We could always ask them for help or guidebooks about Dublin and they also told us interesting facts about Irish history and people, we probably would not have learned without living with locals ;).
The City centre is only about 15-20 minutes by bus and the buses go very frequently.
Also the breakfast, prepared with lost of love by Maeve, gave us a good start into the day.
We totally recommend their place for a visit in Dublin.
During our entire stay we felt like we`ve visited our best friends.
A home away from home! I stayed with Maeve & Ken for two weeks. They were more than helpful and kind, which made my stay at their house very nice. Also it was lovely to chat with them when we met.
The room is big and bright because the sun shines through the window the whole day. The bed is comfortable and there is enough space at the desk to work if you have to. The wifi is excellent as well, the bathroom big and clean. The room is also very quiet although the house is located pretty central. It will take you about 20-30minutes to go to the city centre (depending on traffic) and there are plenty of buses leaving close to their house. It is also just a short distance to the airport. You will find shopping facilities (food, post, drugstore, clothes..) within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this place!

We are natives of Dublin and have lived n Dublin, Cork, Tipperary Albuquerque NM and San Jose CA. Both of us have travelled to North and South America, Africa, Asia and of course Europe. Besides travel we love music, art and good food plus messing about in our back garden. We have two daughters and a son and are fortunate to have 4 grandchildren. Our extended family and friends are an integal part of our lives and that group continues to grow as we host wonderful people from all over the world.
We love meeting new people and enjoy the experience of sharing our home with you. We look forward to meeting you in 2015.
