Wonderful 2 bd guest house in scenic, peaceful, rural neighborhood of Monte Nido. It's only minutes from the beach, PCH, Pepperdine U., and the 101, but you'd never know it. This neighborhood is nature at it's best. Fully equipped eat-in kitchen.
It's a comfortable homey place in the middle of a gorgeous woodsy setting. There are only 10 homes on this street, very quiet, except for nearby rooster, peacock, and the occasional coyote yip.
Living room, kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, walk in closet, and outdoor dining patio.
Interaction with Guests
During your stay, we will be in the main house...available if you need us, but otherwise out of your way.
Quiet, rural, lovely old California oak trees, the Santa Monica Mountains, and all the wildlife. We have deer, coyotes, fox, and bobcats.
Definitely need a car.
Other Things to Note
Great hiking trails everywhere in neighborhood and surrounding area. Malibu Creek State Park is very close. Unless you have Sprint, cell phone service can be spotty. No TV, but broadband wifi is available.
No smoking in the house, and no pets please. I have quite a lot of fine art and collectable dinner ware, just treat it as if it were your Mothers.
Perfect for us and our son. Not far from Pepperdine University. Deb greeted us and provided wine, bagels, fruit, and the use of her own home and supplies. A lovely place, inside and out, and the rural, very hilly neighborhood gave us a feel for the Los Angeles we would not have seen or experienced if we just went to the urban spots.
Deb was so sweet and her place was great! She has thought of everything and went out of her way to pick things up for our young twins and give us wonderful suggestions on things to do. She has a beautiful home that's well decorated and stocked with anything you would need to use from a cooler to beach towels. We loved the area--it was quiet, remote and peaceful, but fairly easy to get to major roads and shopping. Deb herself was kind and made staying at her place a real treat!
We spent a week there and it was very nice and comfortable. Deborah was a great host and provided us with some goodies upon arrival as well as information on the surrounding area for hiking and other things. Will definitely come back and recommend it to all!!
Deborah's guesthouse was just as described - a perfect, quiet getaway spot. She generously greeted us with wine, coffee, fruit, bagels, and a fully stocked kitchen. I would recommend this guesthouse to any couple wanting a quiet retreat that is close to Malibu and not too far from LA. Thanks Deborah!
We really enjoyed our stay there. Deborah is a perfect host. If you are looking for a beautiful and quiet scenery, stylish, comfortable, fully equipped and clean accommodation and a perfect host who trying to make your stay even better, this is the address that you are looking for.
We are second-timers both with Airbnb and with this hosting. What made it new was bringing my dad rather than the family. But our family did join us. To rest, eat, talk. The beds were terrific; bathroom with walk-in shower; the decorations just so personal and home-like. Deborah is so kind leaving a few items for snacking, breakfast; a fully stocked kitchen with seasonings and cooking and dining stuff. On this trip, we ate at restaurants mostly. Our last night, together, we shopped at Erehwhon and I prepared a home cooked meal for all: first for our kids in a month or two. I will not forget the moment having a personal and private conversation; eavesdropping on the conversations between grandparent and grandchildren while preparing our meal in the other room; You cannot get this in a restaurant or a hotel.
While we did not want to disturb our host Deborah os most accommodating.
The location between 101 and PCH is also of the greatest value when considering traffic conditions as we drove across LA SEVEN TIMES.
We have not found another opportunity through Airbnb which works for us.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at Deb's Nest. Deb was very sweet and extremely responsive to my questions from beginning to end. When we arrived the kitchen was already stocked with bagels, fruit, coffee and more! The description of the house and pictures are very accurate. Beautiful artwork and decor throughout. Everything you might need for your trip is there in the house- beach towels, extra pillows, etc. The house is in a really great spot. Very close to the ocean, yet hidden and tucked away on a woodsy private drive. I would definitely stay here again.
