We will be very glad to answer any question our doubt. We are a family that offer an apartment for people that want to know Santiago, not a company that will try to sell you other services. .

  • We arrived at the Bellavista apartment and as we didn't have a phone, we waited for Victoria to arrive for the key exchange. Having a phone will make things easier, but it's not imperative. We got along just fine without one. Luis arrived and took us to the apartment. He showed us around and gave us a brief introduction to the city and showed us a map of the city and circled the places we should visit. There are plenty of city guides and Chile books for your use in the apartment. He was very nice and accommodating. The wifi works great, so anytime I had a question I could message Victoria through airbnb. The apartment was clean, and had a fully equipped kitchen. There is only one TV, and it's in the bedroom. The cable connection was a bit slow. There were a couple of English channels, and we didn't spend much time in the apartment, but to sleep anyway. It was cold when we arrived and they have a small heater that can be moved to the bedroom, if needed. After the second day, the apartment had warmed up enough, and it was fine. There was plenty of clean towels and sheets, and hot water in the shower. The building is in a very secured area. Bellavista itself is a college/younger crowd area. Which was great because we were steps from great restaurants and super close to Pablo Neruda's museum and funicular to the top of Cerro San Cristobal. The apartment is also very close to a small artisan market and about 5 minutes walking to the metro. The more posh area is Las Condes, but we liked Bellavista. It felt like we were experiencing the real Santiago. Patio Bellavista is just one block away and has some awesome restaurants and shops. A bit more pricey than the restaurants around. There is a super market at the Baquedano metro plaza that had everything we needed for snacks and drinks. Vodka is very cheap in Santiago. Luis and Victoria were super flexible with the arrival and departure times. We arrived very early 8am, and left late 6pm. The building is next to a University and there is noise on Fridays and Saturdays, but otherwise, its quiet. All in all, it was a great apartment, great location, and great hosts.

  • I booked Luis & Victoria's apartment in late June, 2014 and had an excellent stay! I'll break down my review into a few sections:

Booking: I messaged back and forth with Victoria prior to booking and she had quick and clear responses to all my questions. Very good communication

Arrival: Booking an organized taxi from the airport (recommended) will run you closer to $40 CAD but you can easily pre-negotiate the return rate with a radio taxi driver for $30. When I arrived, Luis was already in the apartment waiting for me. He explained the basics of the unit/building and also gave me some great recommendations for restaurants. We also exchanged contact info and he made sure we could message each other over the apartment WiFi before he left. Throughout my stay, he checked in on me from time to time to make sure everything was ok.

Apartment: The apartment is new and spacious with a clean bathroom and good water pressure. The pictures on airbnb give you the exact idea of the space.

Area: It is most definitely the place to be if you are in to food, music and art. There are great restaurants, bars and night spots all within less than 10 minutes walk. I was there during the world cup and the matches were easy to find at the area bars. The downtown area near Plaza de Armas is about only about 15 minutes away walking too. I had seen a lot posted in the reviews about the noise. Yes, you can hear the street at night but it is no different than the noise in a fun area of any other major city.

    Tips:
    1) It was winter in Chile (maybe 10 degrees Celcius) during my stay and while the apartment itself has a heater, the building itself and outside were cooler so walk with a couple of extra layers that you can add/remove as you move around.
    2) There is a great free walking tour that starts at Plaza de Armas at 10 am and 3 pm from Monday to Saturday. It's about 3.5 hours and the tour ends at the base of St. Cristobal hill which is only a few min walk from the apartment so it's really convenient.

Thanks again to Luis and Victoria, I plan to come back to Santiago sometime and will definitely stay here again!

  • We had a wonderful stay in this apartment during our time in Santiago. Very well located in the heart of the Bellavista neighborhood, with everything at hand any time of the day. Sometime the noise coming from the streets can be a little loud at night, but it is still bearable, and even if you are not really into the nightlife, it is quite an experience to walk these streets and find street artists, touristic spots and places where locals go. It is also a pretty safe area at night. The condo has 24h security and Victoria and her husband are always available to provide anything you need. For example, we had problems with the hairdryer supplied in the apartment, and they fixed as soon as possible, buying a new one. In short, fair price, very recommended.

  • Our 41 day stay, Nov 27 to Jan 7 2014, at Victoria's apartment, was a great choice. It was close to the subway, many good restaurants, ATMs, grocery stores, and wonderful fruit stands. It was within walking distance of many tourist sights, including museums, San Cristobal and the Plaza de Armas. Clean linen was supplied on a regular basis, and the queen bed was very comfortable. The walk in closet had adequate storage. Luis and Victoria went out of their way to find medical help for us when it was needed. It was a little noisy late into the night, but with the windows shut it was acceptable.

  • I had a great time at Victoria's apartment. It's very nice, well located and has nice services, like gym, laundry and swimming pool. Great attractions are on a walking distance and the hosts are very accessible, flexible and kind. The only thing I missed was a better Wifi since the once there was a little too slow and inconstant. Overall it was a great stay! I want to stay here again next time I'm in Santiago.
