The Space

Enjoy the city life then retreat to this newly renovated 3 bedroom home on 6 acres, surrounded by massive oak & maple trees.

Located just one mile from the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway, this lovely home is conveniently nestled between Nashville and downtown Historic Franklin. Less than 20 miles (or 20 mins) either way will have you strolling the shops on main street and admiring the architecture of downtown Franklin or inside the famous Ryman Auditorium off Broadway in downtown Nashville to catch one of the many live shows. Don't forget to stop at the Loveless Cafe and Barn on Highway 100 on your way out, (just a mile from the house) to fill up on world famous biscuits or attend Wednesday nights live event Music City Roots!

For those seeking peace and quiet, wildlife watching, star gazing or just a relaxing refuge, stay here to replenish your batteries.

Having lived within walking distance for the past several years, I know from experience the tranquility and beauty of this spot. Massive oak and maple trees grace the front yard providing shade on the screened in front porch for a perfect reading spot. The back yard offers a full patio for sunbathing or outdoor dining and a pergola provides a respite from the afternoon sun. Fabulous views of the hills in the distance provide the place to capture sunsets.

The home is newly remodeled and fully furnished with three bedrooms, one full bath, a large kitchen open to a dining area, living room and artist's studio.

For those seeking inspiration to get creative juices flowing again, you have found it. The studio is bathed in natural light and has a sink for those interested in painting, sculpting, building or whatever medium you choose. For those seeking darker, rustic spaces for writing inspiration or the like, there is a barn with electricity nearby. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted with the sounds and sights of pileated woodpeckers and enormous oak, poplar and hickory trees. Goats are in pasture in back, great for kids but parents need to keep eye out b/c goats are curious and may nibble!

The locale is a favorite among bikers. After a long ride, relish the outdoor shower! Edwin Warner and Percy Warner Parks which comprise over 2,000 acres of hiking, biking and horse back riding trails is only seven miles away. The Harpeth River is even closer for all your canoeing and floating desires.

Whether you need a private retreat or a resting spot while you take in city life, this is the ideal place for your Nashville vacation.

  • Great location! Quiet and peaceful, yet close to shopping. The house was clean and comfortable. My children LOVED the tree swing. I would definitely stay again if visiting the Nashville area. Larissa was a great host.

  • This is a great secluded spot outside of Nashville. We enjoyed the quiet location, and the easy drive to Belle Meade and Forest Hills. Proximity to Loveless Cafe is a plus, and the surrounding nature areas are beautiful. We saw lots of deer and wild turkey while we were staying here.

  • Roy Jr, Roy III, and Connie were driving down Lewis Rd., searching for the farmhouse. Even though the street sign for Griffith, the cross street, was being swallowed by growth from a tree, we found the house just fine, because Julie, who had arrived hours earlier with her husband Roger, was already swinging out over the descending hill on the long rope swing.

Who needs street signs when you've got someone out on the rope swing guiding you in?

This first impression remained with us the entire time. We found the house and land to be a peaceful place to get the whole family together. Clean, orderly, and with a set of house rules that makes sense for everyone: the guests, the caretaker, and the next group coming in.

On the first morning of our stay, after feeding a couple baby carrots to the amicable and curious young mare named Bluejean, Roy III was having his first cup of coffee for the day, relaxing on the wide deck overlooking the fenced-in area where the goats and horses live. He got the chance to meet Larissa, the caretaker, who was checking on a sick goat. Conversation with her was as pleasant as the surroundings.

We had a wonderful time and the only bad part was having to leave so soon!

  • The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the goats were excellent (and adorable) neighbors. It's a 25-30 minute drive into downtown Nashville, but the Loveless Cafe is less than five minutes away (you can hang out on your own screen porch while you wait for your table to be ready). Recommended.

  • I spent hours combing the rentals in the Nashville area when I found Nature Lover's Paradise and saw Larissa's picture with her goats. I knew immediately I had found the one! Larissa responded immediately to complete the booking, and throughout my 3 month stay at NLP, I had nary a problem! She is the perfect host - responsive and friendly and gave me complete privacy during my stay. Only issue would be that I wish I could have eaten more eggs from her chickens and been there for blackberry season! I had no idea there was so much to do out west of town and with the convenience of many restaurants, grocery stores and shopping a short drive away in Bellevue and Fairview area (movie theaters, recycling, anything you want just far enough to have solitude and fresh, unadulterated air, stars and wildlife). The perfect mix of proximity and peaceful country life - I was never bothered by anyone. Spent my days working from the house and watching all the wildlife come and go. I canoed the Harpeth, visited the little park at Newsom Mill, hiked the parks of Harpeth State Park, met friendly people in Pegram, cooked and cooked at the house, and spent many a morning an afternoon just hiking and exploring the property and woods behind! Was able to have friends over as the accommodations were spacious and have 2 extra bedrooms and a huge living room. Such a fun Nashville weekend getaway with friends! House is new and clean; kitchen was fabulous - I had everything I needed! The screened in porch, back patio and clean garage/studio area would make it ideal for an artist or writer wanting their peace. this is a great place for a vacation, to be near the river and get a little taste of the country. I recommend it to absolutely anyone and was loathe to leave! I have traveled the world and stayed in many a B&B, home and hostel, but in all that time I did not imagine that there existed this oasis in my own backyard in TN! My stay was easy from start to finish and such a joy. I couldn't put in a stronger reference for my experience with this property. Hope others have the opportunity to experience it, too! ~ Emily

  • Three friends from Norway on trip to Nashville thought better to find a "home away from home" than spending a fortune on a down town hotel. Larissa`s rental house in the oak forest was perfect for us - one bedroom each, fully equipped kitchen, TV, livingroom etc. Yes - it is a drive out of town - but nice for us from overseas to live like the natives :-) We even saw 10 deer outside the window one morning. Only minus is there is no WiFi (internet). Highly recommended.

Young professional. Lover of old homes, animals and the earth. Seeing things grow whether it is a garden, person or a place to lay one's head is one of my favorites and being involved and helping in that process is even better. Discovering off the beaten path new places with friends who I can laugh my guts out with is the best. My top things that make a place great - clean space with natural light, quiet place to sleep at night, spot to sit outside and take in the surroundings, comfy bed, hosts that are helpful but not up in my grill (please give me the scoop on the best local places to eat fresh, healthy foods), filtered drinking water. And by the way, the space I offer has all these things and more!
