Enjoy the clear mountain air and restful sound of the Rocky Broad River at the River House at Chimney Rock. Less than a quarter-mile from the entrance to Chimney Rock State Park, the River House is a wonderful haven of tranquility in the Hickory Nut Gorge. Renovated in 2012, there are majestic oak and heart pine hardwood floors on all three levels. Owners Steve and Shelly Allen invite you to join them for a stress-free retreat in the NC mountains.
No smoking in the house please!!

The space
The River House is a large home located in Chimney Rock and is within walking distance of Chimney Rock Village, NC, the Chimney Rock State Park entrance, and beautiful Lake Lure, NC, where Dirty Dancing was filmed. The River House sleeps 18. We are located on Main Street in the village of Chimney Rock and our home sits on the Rocky Broad River. We have 4 decks overlooking the river and plenty of seating for a large group to dine/grill outside overlooking the Rocky Broad River. The River House can host large groups/families of up to 18 people (children/babies, seniors, and all age groups are welcome!) with lots of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the Rocky Broad River (you can swim and fish in the river right behind the house and there are plenty of big rocks to play on and/or lay out in the sun!) and all the fun activities nearby (ziplining, horseback riding, rock climbing, and hiking in Chimney Rock State Park, just to name a few of the activities).

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire house. All rooms are accessible from inside of the house except one. There is a separate key to the room on the outside of the house on the right side. It is the room nearest the river. This key will be on the table in the dining room along with a key to the front door. We recommend that you enter the house from the lockbox off the main deck on the left side of the house and keep the front door locked at all times. People from off the street can see that the house also works as a BnB and they sometimes walk right in the front door.

Other things to note
The River House is available to be rented out by a group/family and closed to the public when the whole house is rented. We keep the calender updated constantly so if the date shows available on this calendar, it is available for your group to rent the whole house. If you have any questions at all or for more information, please feel free to call me on my listed contact number, 828-625-4335. If I don't answer, please leave a message and your call will be returned promptly! Check in is 4 pm and check out is 10 am.

There are many restaurants with fantastic food! The Rocky Broad River is adjacent to the town and the businesses. Many people will spend their day walking on the boulders in the river or using them as a seat as they enjoy their surroundings. All of this is nestled at the foot of Chimney Rock State Park.
