My place (and soon to be your home) is in one of the best locations in Nairobi.
Quiet neighborhood, 2 minutes walk to Nairobi Arboretum park, safest area as it is across the road from State House and a 10 minute walk to the city center.
Free WiFi included.

The space

Cozy apartment, tastefully furnished to make you feel at home. Your room is private and lockable. You'll have free high speed wireless internet and a mobile phone with a pre-paid local card as an option.

The apartment is surrounded by a large garden with beautifully aged, protective trees. It is on a private road with minimal traffic that leads to the park where you can enjoy walks, runs, quiet time, monkey sightings or just discover the park.

In contrast to the quiet neighborhood, the city center and main business district is a 10 minute walk away. Here, you will get what you need from banks, ATM services, forex bureaus, supermarkets and other shopping areas, chemists, travel agents and airlines, bus and train services, restaurants, bars, cafés, offices, 3D movie theater, schools e.t.c. Every Saturday the Maasai Market ( for Kenyan curios and artifacts) comes to the city center. Here you will have a plenty of options for gifts and souvenirs as well as traditional clothing.

The heavily guarded State House (the President's residence) is across the road which makes this a well secured area. You couldn't have asked to be in a better neighborhood.

Guest access

You will have access to the living and dinning areas, kitchen and bathroom. These are shared areas within the house. The only area not accessible to you will be my bedroom.

Interaction with guests

I am available to offer advice and recommendations on things to do and see in Nairobi and generally Kenya.

Other things to note

I have a Mini Pinscher pet dog who lives with me. He is well behaved, calm and makes for good company if you wish.

Free cleaning services are available if you stay 7 days and longer or at a moderate extra charge if less than this period.

Although I did not meet Jacqui herself, her home assistant Rose met me and showed me around. The flat is very comfortable and quiet, with nice furnishings and a pretty balcony. The area is quiet, yet just a 20 minute walk to the city center or a 30 minute walk to the Westlands area, so it's very convenient. Recommended!

Jacqui is one in a million! She is warm and gregarious; yet empathetic enough to give you the space you require as a guest. She will give you more than enough information, and respect you to make the right choice. As a busy professional, she will carve out time for you as a guest, and still manage to make you feel like she has provided you with everything you might need to survive and thrive in a city as vibrant as Nairobi.

I had an intense business trip for a week and the only time off I'd have would be in the early mornings. I picked Jacqui's place because of her great reviews, beautiful decorations, and amazing proximity to the Arboretum for running in the morning. I was overjoyed to stay with Jacqui, everything was perfect. My only regret was not having more time to spend enjoying the home and getting to know the host better. I hope to return again. 5 STARS!!!

Jacqui was amazing- she is such an inspiring woman and solo traveler! She's a great host and will make you feel very welcome. The area is safe and close to a beautiful park. Her apartment is very cute, has a lovely hammock you can read in, and she even gave me a local phone to use while I was there! Best of all, she was kind enough to show me around and we went to really yummy Lebanese and Ghanaian restaurants.

Nice location if you don't need to be in the thick of things; I loved walking through the arboretum. Internet was quite fast. Jacqui was away my first two nights but her house lady, Rose, was very helpful to me. Jacqui is lovely – very warm and friendly. Prince is a small and cute dog; he is fairly shy and not in your face. Advice: You may need to be a bit forceful with the shower hot water knob and the front door… I was having some trouble with both but eventually realized I was just being too gentle! I recommend Jacqui’s place and may well stay here again myself!

Jacqui was great. Very hospitable and welcoming. The apartment is also centrally located which worked well for my stay.
