My place (and soon to be your home) is in one of the best locations in Nairobi.
Quiet neighborhood, 2 minutes walk to Nairobi Arboretum park, safest area as it is across the road from State House and a 10 minute walk to the city center.
Free WiFi included.
Cozy apartment, tastefully furnished to make you feel at home. Your room is private and lockable. You'll have free high speed wireless internet and a mobile phone with a pre-paid local card as an option.
The apartment is surrounded by a large garden with beautifully aged, protective trees. It is on a private road with minimal traffic that leads to the park where you can enjoy walks, runs, quiet time, monkey sightings or just discover the park.
In contrast to the quiet neighborhood, the city center and main business district is a 10 minute walk away. Here, you will get what you need from banks, ATM services, forex bureaus, supermarkets and other shopping areas, chemists, travel agents and airlines, bus and train services, restaurants, bars, cafés, offices, 3D movie theater, schools e.t.c. Every Saturday the Maasai Market ( for Kenyan curios and artifacts) comes to the city center. Here you will have a plenty of options for gifts and souvenirs as well as traditional clothing.
The heavily guarded State House (the President's residence) is across the road which makes this a well secured area. You couldn't have asked to be in a better neighborhood.
You will have access to the living and dinning areas, kitchen and bathroom. These are shared areas within the house. The only area not accessible to you will be my bedroom.
Interaction with Guests
I am available to offer advice and recommendations on things to do and see in Nairobi and generally Kenya.
Areas around: The Nairobi Arboretum park, National Museums of Kenya, City Center, Westlands by night and day, State House area, Nairobi city view point and Uhuru national park.
If you will not have a chance to go on safari, visit the Nairobi National Park for the game drive. It is a 20 minute drive away and you will see lions, elephants, rhinos, zebra, antelopes, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, hyenas, warthogs, many more animals and more monkeys.
It takes 35 minutes from the airport except during heavy traffic hours. Major shopping malls and hospitals are a short drive away. I can arrange a taxi pick-up for you from the airport at $32 and you can use your local mobile to call a taxi whenever you require.
Public transport is available in the city center, a 10 minute walk away. However, you may call a taxi (contacts which I can provide) or a motor-taxi.
Free ample parking is available.
Other Things to Note
I have a Mini Pinscher pet dog who lives with me. He is well behaved, calm and makes for good company if you wish.
Free cleaning services are available if you stay 7 days and longer or at a moderate extra charge if less than this period.
Jacqui was a great host, she made us feel most welcome. Accommodations were very nice with a balcony overlooking a lovely yard. She had a cell phone we could use and an extensive list of people for transport and sightseeing. The building has a manned gate so we felt secure and comfortable. Her sweet dog Prince was quite charming as well!
It was absolutely lovely to stay at Jacqui's place! A cozy place in a prefect location - close to the city centre yet in a quiet part of town. But most of all: Jacqui is a great person to get to know and a great host! She was very kind and helpful (organizing transport, giving tips where to go etc) and she made me feel very welcome. When coming back after a long day of work, it truly felt like coming back home :D.
A room in a lovely and secure flat in a quiet area just a stones throw from the Arboretum park.
Jacqui was a lovely, welcoming and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay with her.
Jacqui is probably the friendliest host I've ever stayed with -- she's just excellent! The apartment is beautiful and is in a nice, safe location.
Jacqui makes an effort to make her guests feel welcome, complete with all the information you could possibly need for your stay in Nairobi.
I couldn't recommend her highly enough!
Simply said Jacqui is amazing! She is a wonderful host. I stayed at her place for three days. She was out of town for first two days but everything was very organized and with good instructions. I had no problems. Her housekeeper was vey nice to explain to me everything. When we met on the last day we became instant friends !! She was very nice to take me out for a traditional Kenyan food lunch. My flight was late at night but she arranged taxi for me and stayed up till midnight to give me company. She is an interesting person and great talker.
Her place is very clean and beautifully decorated. Living room is a great place to chill out!! Don't forget to experience the amazing hammock in the balcony. The place is 5 mins walk from a nice Aboretum park and 30 mins walk from the city center. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Take boda boda ( motor bike taxi) for a little fun ride in city center or to get some food.
Over all highly recommend Jacqui's place for a couple or a single person. I would definitely stay here next time!
Thank you Jacqui for a wonderful time in Nairobi!!
Word of caution: Please don't forget to turn off the water heater switch or else heater will remind you!
Secure and comfortable location. Good tips and contacts where provided. We would do this again
Jacqui is warm, friendly and extremely knowlegeable about Kenya. Her house is furnished tastefully and she has every amenity to make your stay comfortable. It is exactly as shown in the pictures, but also in a quiet and leafy neighbourhood. She provides telephone numbers for taxis and is quite prepared to do the negotiation on your behalf. She left on holiday soon after we got there, but she provided us with phone numbers in case of any emergency and we were thankful for that. I hope I can meet Jacqui again soon!
