Staying with Rachel and Noel was a nice first introduction to using Airbnb. Rachel and Noel were friendly and helpful; they were also a good source of local knowledge and information about places to go, things to check out, and how to get around the city effectively. They were also kind enough to let me arrive early and collapse into bed for a nap after taking the overnight flight from California, which was much appreciated :)
The neighbourhood was pleasant, bustling, ethnically diverse and full of good food options; I felt totally safe coming and going, even well into the night. The place is an easy walk to a couple of metro stations and the $30 7 day all inclusive metro/bus pass which I got on arrival at the airport made getting around the whole City super easy and affordable.
The apartment is clean and sweet - just like having a place to come home to - much more agreeable than a hotel stay. Thanks!
I spent a month with Noel and Rachel and it was a wonderful experience that passed by much too fast. Noel and Rachel are amazing women and they did so much to make my stay with them very special, shared food and time with me, took me to great places and gave me recommendations. We had very interesting and fruitful conversations. Everything was easygoing. The apartment is nicely designed and spotlessly clean, the room is cosy and the bed is comfortable and there is enough storage space. The kitchen is very well equipped. Astoria is a great neighborhood, especially for food lovers.Subway connections are good. I was sad to leave and absolutely recommend staying with Noel and Rachel.
I had a lovely stay and Rachel and Noel are wonderful hosts. I would throughly reccomend staying here.
This was my first experience with Airbnb and it was five star all the way. The apartment is incredibly cute, cozy and very clean. It is everything that is promised in the listing with an incredible, unmatched location. Very close to amazing shopping on Steinway street and multiple subway stations to get you into Manhattan with ease. And it's an incredibly safe neighborhood. I walked everywhere day and night and never felt uncomfortable. Overall, the best part of my stay was meeting Rachel and Noel. They are genuinely kind, creative, generous hosts who open their home and their hearts to you while being completely respectful of your personal space. They are both smart, fun girls who are lovely to hang out with and always quick with an awesome recommendation. I was new to the city and they really made me feel at home. They are seriously some of the nicest people I have ever met. I am honored to have stayed with them and now to count them among my friends. If you are looking for a safe, friendly, all around wonderful place to stay, do not hesitate to book this GEM.
Staying with Noel & Rachel was a positive experience. They were hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. They extended themselves in little ways that made my overall trip more enjoyable. If your a female traveling alone its very safe and comfortable.
Noel and Rachel, Noel and Rachel, what great Airbnb experience!! Actually, (email hidden) experience. Noel and Rachel are extremely polite and kind. I appreciate these qualities!! I spent a week looking for an apartment in the city. Public transportation was easy to get to from their apartment. The room contained a comfortable bed, useful desk, and a bookcase. Everything was clean! Astoria is such a cool area. I went to local bakeries and restaurants during my stay. I used the refrigerator and microwave during my stay. I also used WiFi. Watched TV with Noel and Rachel a few times!! They are just really sweet. Overall, I would totally recommend staying with these hosts!! This was my first Airbnb experience. I don't know if anyone will be able to compare to the bar set by Noel and Rachel with future travels. So happy that I have new friends in this city!!
Rachel and Noel are very gracious and accomodating hosts. They are more than willing to work individually with their guests to make sure their stay is not only comfortable in the room, but amazing in New York City, with many hints and helps along the way. I would definitely stay with them again.
Our last airbnb experience left quite a bit to be desired so we weren't expecting much more than a semi clean room to sleep in..we couldn't have been more wrong.
Mere words cannot describe the experience we had at Noel & Rachel's place, we are both still reeling.
From the second we walked through the door we were treated like old friends. The place is much nicer than the description infers, no surprise there as these two are really on it and are obviously very committed to making sure their guests have everything they need to have a positive experience and a great stay.
The apartment is spotless, very cute, on a great block, close to the train and in a charming and very ethnically diverse neighborhood.
We were actually really disappointed that this wasn't a leisure trip for us as we really wished we could have hung out with Noel & Rachel more than we did....they are both seriously great people and we could have talked all night!
There is no way anyone could ever be disappointed by a stay here, very very highly recommended.
Rachel & Noel's place (email hidden) to stay while in NYC! We really enjoyed the atmosphere of Astoria for the 4 days we were there - lovely restaurants, cafes and food shops just around the corner from the apartment. The hosts were extremely helpful with everything, showing us around the neighborhood and giving tips to the best restaurants. The apartment and the room were super cozy, it (email hidden) to unwind after a full day of experiencing NYC. We definitely recommend staying with Rachel & Noel!
Five stars for the hosts, the room, and the location! The bed is so comfy I slept like a baby the whole time I was there! Will definitely stay there again in the future!
