Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Mountain air, birds chirping, majestic trees, a real log & rock cabin, hot tub under the stars, history, piles of blankets, a fire pit, relaxation, rocking chairs, eclectic library, board games, puzzles, coffee, a vintage stove that makes the best grilled cheese (& pancakes), fireplaces, hot chocolate, popcorn, wifi, Netflix, Amazon Prime, your dog, hiking, the fire lookout, two nearby lakes, shopping, great restaurants, magical coziness & the best sleep you've had in forever.

The space
Tucked away in the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest, between Lake Arrowhead and Lake Gregory, on almost an acre of mountain side, you'll find a relaxing getaway. Though we’re not far from a local highway, when you visit, you’ll feel like you’re a 100 miles from civilization.

Built in 1915 not only out of natural materials - Rockwood Cabins is built around them. The builder cleverly fashioned the cabins into the mountain side using boulders and logs.

If you're looking for an adventurous and unforgettable get-away, then you've found the place.
You will be renting two separate cabins that are built right next each other, but you cannot walkthrough one cabin to the next. One cabin is your sleeping cabin, the other, just a few outside steps away, is your kitchen & dining cabin. You'll need to go outside to enter the other cabin and again, it's just steps away. You’re staying in history!

Renting Rockwood Lodge includes two separate cabins:
1. Sleeping Cabin, and a
2. Kitchen/Dining Cabin.

Rockwood Lodge's SLEEPING CABIN
Sleeps up to six*, has three bedrooms and includes two and a half bathrooms (one bedroom has a crawl in loft with a queen bed).

BEDROOM 1 - Primary Bedroom with King
BEDROOM 2 - Heart Bedroom with Queen
BEDROOM 3- Tree House Bedroom, with 2 Queens, one is in a crawl in loft (think of a giant Queen bunk bed).
All 3 bedrooms have doors for privacy.

Rockwood Lodge's KITCHEN AND DINING CABIN (the one with the antlers above the door).
Full kitchen, a dining room, a beautiful Franklin gas fireplace, a portable air conditioner during warm months, and a propane BBQ grill outside the back door.

Please also see the property map (in the photos and in your cabin manual), if you need to see room layout, contact us, or visit our website.

*There may be a possibility that we can allow more than six guests, but only with the owner's prior authorization at least 3 days before check-in. There is an extra charge for over six guests.
Please let us know if you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, romantic getaway, surprise engagement, honeymoon... we'd love to help make your stay magical & unforgettable. (And, we're really good at surprises!)
We welcome every race, religion, gender, orientation, and cultural background with open arms.
+ Outside hot tub with an amazing view,

+ 43" TV in King Bedroom,
+ Netflix & Amazon Prime via Roku,
+ Bluetooth speakers (King Bedroom & kitchen),
+ Two DVD players,

During the warm months, you’ll find breezy ceiling fans in the King Bedroom & Heart Bedroom. In the King Bedroom, you’ll find a wall air conditioner. In the middle and bottom bedrooms portable air conditioners. There’s no central air conditioning. Fans may be provided for you, please let us know.

In chilly months, we’ll have lots of blankets and pillows waiting for you, in case you’d like to turn down the central heating and fireplaces to pile on the blankets for snuggling.
We welcome dogs as guests, too!

Our dog fee is $25 per dog, per stay. Why do we charge a fee for dogs? Because no matter how perfect your furry baby may be, extra cleaning time and attention is always needed after their stay. :) To pay the fee, we will send a request through the Airbnb message system.

Mountain law says dogs must be on a leash and we kindly ask that you clean up after your doggie.

Nighttime can be dangerous for dogs, since coyotes, lions and bears live nearby and visit often, so please keep your fur babies close.

(Only dogs allowed, no other type of pet is invited to stay).

I tripped into happiness... Just wanted to rent a cabin for a few months to see if living a mountain lifestyle was for me. Had never been to the Lake Arrowhead area. While looking at cabin rentals online, kept seeing these cabins for sale. Couldn’t stop thinking about this place. I’m so glad I took the leap and made an appointment to see the property. Parked my car and without opening a single door, fell head over heels in love with this place. My dream came true before I wished it. It’s now my passion and great honor to share this treasure with the world. Someday all three cabins will be available for large families, groups or retreats, as a place to gather, heal and relax. Hoping you’ll find the cabins half as magical as I do. Maybe staying here will become part of your tradition? May the forest be with you, Kelly Rockwood Cabins Twin Peaks, Southern CA
