Interaction with Guests
When I'm in town, I will greet you and handover the keys. I usually work from home so I am usually available to interact with guests, take them on food tours, suggest sights or help them around the area if I'm available.
I live in one of the hippest neighborhoods in the USA according to Forbes. Silver Lake is small and walkable. Everything you need is in Silver Lake or the Los Feliz neighborhood - groceries, banks, coffee, bars, restaurants, etc. Sunset Junction is a short walk away.
There are some great restaurants around. I have a food blog and can make recommendations for you or you can see some on (website hidden).
This neighborhood is LGBT friendly. You'll find a few gay bars in the neighborhood, including one of LA's best, Akbar, a few blocks away.
Silver Lake Reservoir is not too far and great to run around or hang out on the grass. Griffith Park is also close by and great for hiking, picnicking, views of LA and the Griffith Park Observatory.
A short drive down Sunset Blvd is Dodgers Stadium, Downtown LA and Echo Park. Hollywood is just a short drive the other direction.
I'm close to the Red Line Metro and also main bus routes on Santa Monica Blvd. & Sunset Blvd. There are car rentals nearby as well as ZipCar locations. The Metro Red Line is a 15 minute walk. You can get to Union Station or to Hollywood on this line or transfer to other lines. Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Blvd are both close by and offer routes in both directions (Toward Downtown LA or toward the Westside/Santa Monica Beach). There are regular buses (2, 4) as well as the Rapids (702, 704) which have fewer stops and can be quicker.
Other Things to Note
This is a really great space for hanging out, relaxing, cooking, reading and being creative. You are welcome to use the room or back patio to paint or create art - just please clean up after yourself! I also have many art supplies, if you're feeling creative, just ask!
This flat is in a shared location. There is a courtyard shared with neighbors next door.
Finding street parking is usually easy.
1. NO illegal drugs, pets or smoking inside
Smoking outside is fine, please dispose of your cigarette butts.
2. BE COURTEOUS of neighbors. Consider noise and try to be quiet when coming home late at night and closing gates.
3. Please pick up after yourself and do your dishes, as there is no dishwasher in the house.
Laramie was wonderful about letting me stay at his place last minute, even though he was in Mexico. It was spacious and very clean, with a comfy bed. I didn't get to spend much time there, but he was very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Thanks!
I rented Larimie’s place when my brother decided to visit last minute while my place was under construction.
The space was awesome and we were intrigued from the minute we arrived into the courtyard. Larimie came right out to greet us and after some chit chat about the incredible murals in the courtyard we walked directly into the room through it’s private entrance. The room turned out to be much larger than it appears in the pics and has it’s own dedicated bathroom. After a sampling of the tasty concoction he had been cooking up when we arrived Larimie handed us the keys and went about his business as we relaxed and checked out his tastefully decorated living room with it’s inspiring artwork and books.
I ended up just staying the weekend with my brother and avoided the renovation scenario and my place all-together. We ditched the car and hit the local café’s, restaurants and bars in the neighborhood on foot and always felt right at home after a long night of indulgence.
Larimie was easy going and accommodating in every way. He has created a perfectly comfortable and inspiring space that he has thoughtfully put together for his guests. I was surprised when Larimie told us as we were his first guests. We had a great stay and my brother and I both agree that we would recommend Larimie’s place to our friends.

I'm Larimie. Some people call me "Xhico". I'm an artist and chef living in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. I am constantly creating art and beautiful food and hosting the occasional pop-up dinner. Music, food, art, and friends complete my unique California lifestyle.
As a host, I have a flat full of creativity. There is a courtyard covered in murals and a bedroom/studio space with lots of light. There are art supplies galore and a small, but fully equipped kitchen if you like to cook. You'll probably get lucky one day and get a home-cooked meal from me. I'm also always down for sharing recipes and cooking techniques if you want to spend time in the kitchen with me.
