We were met promptly upon arrival with the keys and given a quick run through of the premises. The apartment comes with all the basic supplies and it's very spacious and comfortable. It's in a great location halfway between Central Park and Times Square. It was an easy walk to every Broadway theatre and there are restaurants galore surrounding the apartment in every direction.
Our host arrived at the appointed time, the apartment was not quite what we expected as it sleeps 8 but only had 4 chairs to sit at the table, the chair legs were very loose and wobbly and did not feel particularly safe. The heating system was extreme in that the temperature was very hot and could not be adjusted without using the air condition unit. The pipes created such an amount of noise at night we had to purchase ear plugs
Great host. She was very quick to respond to all of my messages. And the description of her place was better than expected!
This is a great Apartment. Super location and huge sized rooms. We could fit 8 people comfortably. This week was the coldest in NYC for 20 years, but there was lots of extra duvets and heaters in the Apartment so we were ok. Some reviews have mentioned that the pipes are loud. That was the case for us too. But only acationally. The host was very helpful and accomodated a late check out for us. All in all a great airbnb experience and we would recomend the Apartment to our friends.
This apartment was clean, comfortable and as advertised.
We only stayed for 1 night but found it perfectly adequate.
We visited in February 2015 during one of NYC’s cold snaps, and found the apartment’s upstairs to be very warm and cosy (even immediately upon arrival, and throughout the night). The downstairs area was a bit cooler, but a space heater was provided.
Great power shower in the main bathroom. Plus there were 2 separate toilet rooms (so perfect for 3 of us staying there).
Clean linen and towels, comfortable beds.
Nice area with quiet neighbours, we found somewhere for dinner and breakfast very quickly, and were able to walk to central Manhattan easily.
Only negative experience was that our host, who was handing over keys, arrived late so we were left waiting on the doorstep in the cold for ages after a really long flight.
The apartment appeared to be as advertised and the finishes and furniture were all very nice. Unfortunately when we arrived, during a cold snap, the pipes had burst in the downstairs section with two of the beds and one bathroom. Nancy, who had met us to give us keys, immdiately called the owner, arranged for repairs to start, found us another apartment to stay in for the weekend and put us in touch with the owner to negotiate a credit for our troubles. Our new apartment was in Murray Hill, which changed our plans and necessitated more cab rides over the course of the weekend. We did get a partial refund for our troubles and the replacement apartment was very nice, although I don't think that it is listed for rental.
